Not that she ever would, but if my daughter ever bought me something with Teddies on I would assume she was the one who had gone into early dotage 😱

Years ago in my nursing days we admitted an old lady wearing a coat and hat. Underneath the coat she was wearing a thick jumper under a knitted cardigan. Taking that off we found a vest, a camisole top and an old fashioned whale bone corset!

That’d be my Nan.

Your mother is daft because she has different taste in clothes from you? I think it’s sad that an elderly woman is denigrated in this way.

My friend has an overnight bag , with new PJs, clean knickers, bra, face cloth, towel, moisturiser, wet-wipes - ready, in case she has to go into hospital - I think it’s a good idea 😂

I wouldn’t care an iota what anyone else thought, but I’m with Oreo on this one. 😜

Like wearing clean knickers in case you get run over by a bus. smile

My Mum worries what people may think too, even tho nobody gives a stuff these days.I find it a loveable trait in her and know it’s a throwback to what my Nan used to expect of her.

😄
Well, I like her style! Not sure I’d be keen on pjs with teddies on either, I prefer something slinky with lace on and I think the ambulance men would prefer that too.🤩

I was having a cuppa earlier today, while waiting to go to hospital for a procedure. I commented to my BFF who was coming with me that he reminded me of my mum whenever she went to hospital appointments. The way she'd pander about her looks, "Got to look smart!"
This brought me to recall a conversation with her one day. My DC & I had sent her some brushed cotton pyjamas for Christmas. They were a creamy colour with the odd teddybear wearing pyjamas printed onto them.
Mum called to ask if I had kept the receipt?
Not because they didn't fit, not because she'd prefer a nightie, nor because she'd be too hot in them. The reason was...
"What if something happens and I need an ambulance during the night?"
I was totally at a loss. She'd be covered and decent, whatever could be the problem?
"Well," she said. "Whatever will the ambulance men think of a woman my age wearing pyjamas with teddybears on them?"
I mean, honestly, what would they think? 🤣🤣
"They'd think," said I, "that you were at least cosy in your pyjamas!"
But nope, she wasn't having it. So, I got some lovely pyjamas - with teddybears wearing pyjamas on them - and she chose something else!
My auld mother, whatever would they think?! Like they'd even be taking notice of what she wore. Maybe I should have found her some 60s/70s flouncy negligee ensemble complete with a feathery boa in bright orangey-pink! Lol
