Good morning from a very misty Anstruther.

Sorry to hear about your summer house debacle R&L. What a disappointment.
Bella, I hope your day is not too exhausting and GMB, you must be exhausted!!

We had a lovely day yesterday, after the sea haar lifted.
The walk along the coastal path was glorious. I spent some time talking about outdoor learning to a teacher, whose class were on the beach. The children were having a ball.
We had to prevent DH from stopping to watch every golfer teeing off. He didn't realise how intimidating he was, standing arms crossed and staring intently at the golfers. One group of Americans asked us for a round of applause after a spectacular shot! 😁

We caused much amusement in the chandler's with our arguing deciding what colour of glass floats we were buying. The shop is an Aladdin's cave of goods and as usual we came out with more than we intended to buy.
Unfortunately, we hadn't factured in how we were going to get them back, as we had no car! The men had to stop for a beer on the way back for a rest!
Later we realised that my poor SIL had been badly sunburned and I had a painful patch, I had missed when applying sun protection.

Today DH and I are hopping more like struggling on the bus to Eilie. There is a boutique there, run by the retired GP's wife, which I love. I have been saving up all year to treat myself to something I certainly don't need.
I do not want to subject DD and SIL to standing bored outside, while I dither over my purchase s. 😉
The rest of the day will be a gentle one, finishing off with a fish tea in an award winning restaurant.

I hope you all have a pleasant day. Special best wishes to one of my Gransnet friends, who is feeling very poorly with Covid.

Good morning all from a grey and damp North Leicestershire.

The first session of the new Carer Learning course was exhausting. We had 13 participants, lots of questions and lots of tears.

Today, I am helping at a Dementia Information event.

Have the best day possible everyonen

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It’s raining.
I did manage a short walk at the arboretum yesterday. It’s all looking spectacular after such a wet spring.
Charity group this morning, we have a talk about transition from children’s to adult care. Should be interesting.
A neighbour is calling for a cup of tea this afternoon and to plan a hospital outpatient visit for her DH tomorrow. Lack of parking, mobility and dementia make for a tricky combination.
This evening I’m going to the local theatre to see 42nd street.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
The U3A lunch was fun yesterday. The guy I was sitting next to turned out to be a rampant Tory, but we managed to be civil! OH went to see his bees before pudding (we came in two cars) and found they had swarmed! He’s finally asking for advice now.
It was a Cheese and Wine party at WI last night and it was fun. We had lots of visitors.
Today I will be going to the U3A Art History group where there will be a talk on Klimt’s landscapes. I saw a lot of them when I was in Vienna a couple of years ago and preferred them to his portraits.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey misty start to the day but forecast to be warm, bright and sunny later
Happy 14th Birthday to your DGS Ash 🎂🎉
I had an easy journey home yesterday after another lovely visit to DD1 and family. A busy day ahead here as we’re picking up DGD from school later, helping with the travel to after school activities and then bringing her back here for a sleepover
Hopefully you’ll get to enjoy your summerhouse roses with no more problems
Thinking of everwith worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Greyduster Thu 16-May-24 07:11:08

Good morning Michael and all GNs from what promises to be a wet South Yorkshire by lunchtime. Look after yourself, Mick. Go gently.
There will be a very small window for the walking group not to get wet this morning and I have to go out anyway. I need to pop in on my niece with a birthday present for her granddaughter who is two tomorrow. I would rather stay in with a good book today, but needs must.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from Menorca.
Hopefully a fine, sunny day, as yesterday was overcast with a few spots of rain.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a misty Cambridgeshire. Pilates this morning and front garden to tidy if rain holds off. Not much else on today but do have a big pile of ironing to prevent me reading my book.

Hope everyone has a good day

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and foggy. I hope it burns off. Mick take care of yourself. Oops safe journey home. Bellasnana I hope you can get the boys out. It definitely makes such a difference.
Yesterday was ok. Dgs2 was quite emotional in the morning but we think he was tired as he'd been awake early. Both boys were well behaved in the afternoon.
Today is the last of the four days of childcare. Woo hoo! I expect we will play with trains, food trolley and basket and cars. If it brightens up I'll persuade dgs2 to get into the garden. Have a good day all.

Ashcombe Thu 16-May-24 06:24:09

Good morning from a dull Torbay.

My DGS2 is 14 today and it’s the final day of SATS for (dancing) DGD, who is 11.

I do hope you have a better day today, Mick. Take care not to push yourself too hard.

I expect that, when you have the summerhouse set up to your liking, RosesandLilac, the memories of the setting up will fade. Perhaps a letter to Which or a review on the company's website would be an idea.

A beautiful splash of colour, Bonnybanko! (geraniums?)
Safe journey, Oopsadaisy1.
I hope the boys are good for their long day with you, Bellasnana!

DH is off to London for the day whilst I shop in Lidl! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. We are forecast heavy rain from midday onwards…
I was exhausted by all my ‘doings’ yesterday and seemed to have sleep more than usual. I hope I’m less tired today.
I was just finishing my dinner yesterday when my doorbell went. My lovely neighbour wanting to take advantage of my outside tap so she doesn’t have to go up and downstairs with a full can. Of course, I said yes!
I’ve just got indoor tai chi today, so shall try to stay quiet.
I hope all your events go well today, and your pains and sorrows tolerable. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from s somerset and similar weather to yesterday, cooler and mostly dry

Yesterday was a good mixed-bag day, exercise via speedy walking to include a hill and some sewing to finish a ufo, some reading, pottering and generally keeping on top of stuff.

Similar day for me today

Have a good day

Jaxjacky Thu 16-May-24 06:20:04

Morning from high cloud in S Hants. Roses that’s most unsatisfactory, I hope you’ve left a dreadful review on their FB page if they have one and Twitter, X.
Here’s to a better day Mick.
I had a very nice lunch and good chat with my friend yesterday, a very busy restaurant. Pots and baskets were watered later in the evening, looking a little sparse now, but they’ll all fill out.
Safe journey back Oops.

Good morning from Malta where it is already 22°C and a high of 30°C is forecast. Too hot for May.🥵

Sorry you felt unwell yesterday Mick, take care today. Hope your plans won’t be cut short again.

Roses glad your edifice is now up but sorry the pleasure of having it has been dampened by the unprofessional attitude of the company. I hope you’ll get to enjoy it in time.

I’ve just arrived to look after the boys and all’s quiet on the western front at the moment! Time to make their porridge.

It’s our long day today, that extra couple of hours makes a difference especially if we can’t get out. It might rain today and is very overcast despite the heat so we shall see!

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 16-May-24 06:06:19

Good morning from a soon to be sunny Spain.

Almost finished packing for return home, vertigo is still a pain but by the time we leave I should be ok.

Have a good day everyone.

Bonnybanko Thu 16-May-24 06:04:47

Good morning early risers I’m awake but I’ll probably drop off again until my carer comes in about 9.15
It’s the start of another gorgeous day here on the east coast of Fife.
I’ll be sitting in my conservatory looking onto my garden today again I’ll also continue reading my book. The cleaning lady comes in today I’ll be telling her about the new descale foam spray I’ve bought for my shower it works beautifully.

Have a good day my friends keep safe

RosesandLilac Thu 16-May-24 05:53:01

Good morning Mick, it’s dry and cloudy here too.
I hope you have a better day today.
I’ve been awake for hours, no particular reason but it’s tedious and I will be knackered by mid afternoon. I have art group today so it will need me to make some effort to go!
The summerhouse is up, the builders did their best but the building itself isn’t as good as it could be and, needless to say, there were more missing parts 🙄☹️
I sound like a right misery but the whole scenario has been very disappointing and the company simply don’t want to know.
Anyway, I need to get DH to do a few bits to it and I will get my bits and pieces moved in today!
The garden is looking good, I planted three roses into big pots yesterday, the roses on the fence are starting to bloom as are some of my shrub roses.
I have- -too- - many plants needed putting out in the borders so that’s a task for the next few days! I can also rearrange my potting table and bits now that the summerhouse is up so a few hours of pottering to look forward to.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹

Good Morning Everyone,
A blue sky with some cloud but dry here in brackley this morning.
Yesterday felt a little rough so returned early from Bicester , today a similar outing but hopefully stay normal time there as I look forward to having a coffee and a chat with friends .
On the health front variable , changes in weather maybe a small cause , where I see happy in cooler but dry conditions .
Take Care,
Mick
