Royal Mail - sell off

It has already been privatised in 2011 under the coalition and completed in 2015. Vince Cable was at the forefront of the sell off. I believe the bid has come from the majority shareholder who is a Czech billionaire?

I don't think it should ever have been privatised. Even the American postal service isn't and that's saying something.

I don’t think the OP realises it was ‘sold off’ years ago.

I'm looking forward to it. As an ex employee and share holder, it should bump up the share price!

When you talk of a sell off, it implies that the government are selling. An existing private owner is selling. Such things happen every day.

The procedure to sell Royal Mail started in 2010 and was finalised in 2013.

The Czech millionair already has shares in it and the Board have approved selling him the remaining shares.

Nothing whatsoever to do with the Government as it is a private company.

Hopefully it will improve…

The Post Office is separate from Royal Mail. Two separate businesses.
