Tortoise - contrary to popular belief they DO have ears, although their hearing is not brilliant (a bit like DH really!) She looks up and wags her head at me when I speak to her so I know she's taking it all in

DD1 normally phones most evenings to chat about what we've both got up to during the day. Just waiting for her call.

I'm quite self-contained so don't mind too much if I don't have contact with loads of people during the day. Happy to pass the time of day with neighbours if I see them, and thankful that I still have DH to keep me company if we happen to be in the same room at the same time, and in the evenings.

Those of you who don't speak to anyone at all - AgeUk and Relate have a telephone friendship service, where a volunteer would ring you once a week (I used to volunteer). Just a thought.

Ah, that's miserable for you.
It really makes a difference if people are kind, even of they're rushed.

And as for leaving soiled dressings on the floor...

District nurse who came to dress my very sore foot apart from Good morning silent removal of the dressings commenting yes looking much better dear I’ll just put another dressing on and see you on Thursday, take care, bye 😵‍💫 Eleven minutes from start to finish and that included leaving the soiled dressings in a bag on the floor. I know they’re busy but that that was a bit of a knock back for an 86 year old in pain. I was so taken back I phoned my friend to have a moan and it went to answer phone, just not my day 😥

No-one, if you don’t count my plants (we have a little chat every day), and the birds that are eating my plants (who get told off but don’t give a fig and just go on eating!).
