Research into so called Blue Zones indicates that connection is important.

Today, I spoke to a neighbour who was washing his car, an acquaintance in a charity shop, another neighbour who was closing her gate, somebody I haven't seen for years and my hairdresser.

Not bragging, there are days when its down to zero.

2 people in Greggs when I popped in to buy a baguette. The young lad that does my garden. Going out again soon so will probably speak to more people.

It's been like picadilly circus in here today.

My upstairs neighbour is now speaking to me again, so it's business as usual.
She's in and out like a fiddler's elbow.
My next door neighbour has also popped in quite a lot, and my grandson is home.

Three people in one day!!

In person and in order of meeting up, husband, son-in-law, grandson, postman, three random strangers at the bus stop and on the bus, younger daughter, our neighbour. Just brief exchanges for all but the family.

Hellogirl1 Thu 30-May-24 22:54:45

Lynne`s carers, 2 this morning and 2 more later. We rarely see anyone else. Oh, a neighbour brought a parcel that had been left on the front step, and I thanked her. Plus I`ve spoken to Billy, our cat, a fair bit.

LadyGracie Thu 30-May-24 22:49:16

Myself. I normally have my 4 youngest grandchildren who are still at school during the half-term so I am kept busy. This week two of them have been in Greece and the other two in Belgium with their respective families. It has been nice to recharge my batteries and have a bit of hush. I'll be glad when they're home though.

A few words with the lady who was behind me at the ATM and a joke shared with the man in the paper shop. Then 15 minutes with the very nice doctor's receptionist who tried to sort out my prescriptions. Hopefully between the pair of us we have made some progress!
