Good morning from what was a brightening Sefton but is now overcast. At least it is dry. The sun is forecast to appear late afternoon...as per usual. Better late than not at all. A busyish day yesterday, mostly washing, garden tidying & looking at cars with a view to changing ours soon.
A slow & quiet day for me today. DH has had a very eatly start as he is delivering hanging baskets with his Lions club. They are trying to beat the traffic build up. (Fat chance) The area is a notorious bottleneck exacerbated by extensive roadworks at a well used junction. Ooh the sun has just struggled out. That looks promising🤞. Now have I got anything that needs washing! Can't waste a good washing day.😬
Wishing you a pleasant day & some sunshine for us all.

Good morning from an overcast and windy Oxfordshire.

MrOops birthday today he always gets good weather, let’s hope it picks up, MissOops will be over later, bringing food!
MzOops moved house yesterday so we will have a late birthday celebration next week when she is here with us, she should have moved 2 weeks ago and was very disappointed not to be here today, MrOops still isn’t feeling so good, hopefully next week he will feel better.

So a lazy day today, if the sun shines we will have lunch outside but I won’t hold my breath.

Have a good day everyone, hope those who are unwell soon start to feel better.

Good morning all and it’s a cloudy grey day here at the Suffolk seaside. It seems the rest of the country are having its turn of good weather - East Anglia is holding on to the cloud and chilly wind.

Yesterday our situpon mower and old MG were returned after being repaired. Dh immediately hopped on said mower and made a good start . The wild ferns are huge and have taken over , so we swill still ask our lovely chap to come on Monday to give a hand. Many hands and all that.
Our no.1 son wanted to come up to help but I’ve discouraged him as he has enough to do at home. We’ll manage ! 🥵.

Blossoming hope you feel better as the day goes on.
Marydoll your dh sounds just like mine. Not natural handymen! 🫣.
GM that tea loaf sounds delish! I’ll look up the recipe.

Take care all and enjoy your sunshine ☀️

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday was spent keeping toddler GS from injuring himself as he runs at full tilt whenever possible. DH dug up a huge patch of willow herb in their garden which had been neglected in recent years. They moved in September, the garden really needs an overhaul but that requires time and energy that they really don’t have just now.

I’m in awe of those of you who childmind much more than I do.

Hair appointment this morning and I’m still in two minds about how much to have cut off, I’ll probably decide when I’m actually in the chair.

We’re off to the 21st party of our great niece this evening. It’s a house party which I suspect will go on until the wee small hours but I’m hoping to escape reasonably early. grin

DD and eldest DGD will arrive quite late as they’re attending an awards evening for the District Netball Club which DGD plays for. She’s not expecting anything but she was surprised and delighted to receive an award last week from the other club she plays for regularly.

Hope you feel better soon Blossoming.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from our holiday in the Algarve. We have been here for two weeks and really is a special place. We have a few more days left before returning home. We haven’t done as much getting out and about as usual as the weather has been so hot. Also it was such a busy time before we came here so needed some downtime.
Today looks like another hot one. The 10 & 5 year old GC are still asleep they were late to bed last night. They want to do Adventure Golf this morning then down to Vilamoura Marina before swimming in pool this afternoon. DH wants to go to Saturday market at Loule😊
Wishing a happy and healthy peaceful day to everyone💐

Good morning from a slightly brightening Black Country.

A good day yesterday. Took Mum to the Memory Cafe where there was entertainment by a trio called Bluebird Belles singing music from the 40's, 50's and 60's. Mum was singing along knowing the words. This is all free, run by volunteers and donations. Tea/coffee, cakes and biscuits are also provided

We then met DS and DIL for lunch, and spend almost 3 hours with them. When DIL asked Mum if she enjoyed the morning, Mum didn't remember it ! I showed her a photo I had took of the trio and then she slowly did. Dementia is so so sad.

I know Rugeley fairly well Ashcombe as I used to live in Lichfield which is near.

No real plans today, cut lawn and housework!

Wishing you all a pleasant weekend.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Now back home after cat sitting and I need to get some shopping done. It was so cold yesterday the heating came on!
Blossoming I hope you feel better soon. * Msrydoll* likewise.
Best wishes to all

Good morning everybody from south Manchester where it’s sunny and warm out. A lovely start to the day here. I hope it lasts as Himself fancies standing around in a field this afternoon to watch the presentation ceremony at the Boy Wonder’s ⚽️ club! 🤞🌞

Good morning from a dull but dry Suffolk. Today DGD1 is 18 and we are meeting her and DS’s family for a celebratory lunch at a pub a few miles from them.

It is somewhere we haven’t been but they know so should be delicious food. We are meeting them there rather than going to their house first as dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and so ours and theirs have to stay at home. Theirs would be very excited to see us if we popped in first and then left soon afterwards.

DiL has just sent us a photo of their decorated sitting room. She has an eye for such things and always makes an effort for all 3 GCs’ birthdays as well as DS’s.

Hope today is a positive one for all.

Good morning from sunny, dry Colchester. Yesterday was cold and wet.
I have one washing load out on the line and another is spinning. DS has added his uniform to the pile. DH is fishing so the pile will be replenished.

A short walk to the Evri drop off shop as I made an Ebay sale yesterday.

Otherwise a quiet weekend as DS will catch up on sleep.

Love to all 🦩 x

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a sunny bright start to the day
My goodness karma you worked hard yesterday
I’m meeting up with an old pal today, she went to live in America about 5 years ago but she’s visiting here this weekend so there’s a bit of a get together. Should be like old times! Later DD2 and family will be round to eat so it’ll be a busy evening
Enjoy your reunion too today Ash and safe travels
Hope you feel much better soon Blossoming take care
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings💐

Good morning all from an overcast North Leicestershire.

DH is off to the gym and I will stroll to the village for flowers. Then I need to find out why our new printer will print wirelessly but not scan at all. Wish me luck.

DS2 didn't make it here yesterday so is coming this afternoon.

Have the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Sat 01-Jun-24 07:44:09

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and sunny. We've had a few days here of lovely weather. Blossoming I'm really sorry to hear that you are not well. My thoughts are with you. Ash those type of hen dos are not my thing at all.
Yesterday I had a pleasant day, despite the pains in my feet. Dd popped in with dgs2 before play group. It's always good to see them. He had a massive tantrum when it was time to go. He lay on the ground at my front door and we hid round the corner, thinking he would miss us. Not a bit! He wasn't screaming, just happily lying on his back. The minute we tried to encourage him, the screaming started again. I finally picked a flower and told him he could give it to the ladies at play group and he happily trotted off with us. Apparently he had a great time at playgroup. Dd thinks he was tired and probably has hay fever. It's a curse in our family on both sides. I got all the washing done yesterday, dried on the line, ironed and put away. I changed the bedding too. It's such a feeling of satisfaction to my housewife's soul. I pottered in the garden too. I staked the sweet peas and the peas and did a little weeding. Slugs and snails are decimating some of my plants. Which is very annoying. I assume it's because of the wet spring.
Today, like GrandMattie, I've had a bad night's sleep. My feet get very sore. I put up with it, mostly, as I don't like to take painkillers too often. I'm meeting a friend for breakfast but I'll nip to Aldi beforehand for food. I dislike shopping when it gets busy. Once I drop my friend back home, I will get back into the garden and pull more weeds which appears as if by magic overnight. Have a good day all.

Blossoming, I hope you feel better as the day goes on. 💐

GrannyGravy13 Sat 01-Jun-24 07:35:32

Morning all, it’s meant to be a drier and warmer day today, fingers crossed they are correct.

I need to pop into Aldi first thing, then some pottering on my first child free day, well child free until 4.30, when it’s off to DS4’s. We will take the GC (7 & 4) to the local Tapas restaurant about 6ish. The 9yr old has asked to join us, so as he has us wrapped round his little finger we will take him as well 🤣

Enjoy first day of June 🐇🐇🐇

Marydoll Sat 01-Jun-24 07:35:18

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow. Like GM, I have had a disturbed night and wakened with a blinding headache.

Not much planned, apart from my usual weekend parish admin. duties. I am doing the barest minimum at the moment, I think the PP may have realised I am fed up with being taken for granted, especially after getting a message last night to ask me to deal with something at the last minute.
Hopefully get the bed stripped and finish off putting everything back on the decking. DH power hosed it and it looks worse than before he started.

I won't mention the fact that he used while filler to repair the grouting on the front stairs, which are made of RED brick. 😭The white silicone is everywhere, path, garage door, driveway etc, If I hadn't been so unwell, I could have stopped him.
My neighbours think its hilarious, I certainly don't. They don't have to live with it! 😡

After yet another hour spent talking to Virgin Media, to complain that my email issue still hadn't been resolved, I discovered that Virgin had been phoning DH (as the account number) on his mobile and of course he had ignored the calls.
Another 5\6 working days, before I hear anything on DH's mobile, of course.😡
Despite it being sunny outside, the air is rather frosty here and my tongue is a tad raw, from biting it! 😉

I then spent another hour speaking with an extremely helpful agent from NHS inform. I tried to postpone my Covid booster online, on my GP's advice. Despite having had eight previous vaccinations, apparently I don't exist! Is there a subliminal message here? 🤭

Pants, your day seems wonderful. Enjoy! *Susan hoping the birthday celebrations went well.
Have a good day folks.

Susan56 Sat 01-Jun-24 07:31:42

Greyduster Sat 01-Jun-24 07:31:15

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cool, cloudy South Yorkshire where the North wind is bending the trees double yet again. I hope it calms down and warms up a bit as DD a nod the menfolk are coming over later to go for a walk round the valley and then we’ll have fish and chips for tea. Yesterday, apart from doing a small food shop, had a cleaning day. Just as well I wasn’t going out as I had a huge removal lorry - the biggest I had ever seen - parked across the full width of my drive while my new neighbours moved in. It was there most of the afternoon. Nobody asked if it was okay and as I had no intention of taking the car out I decided it was too early in our relationship to ruffle feathers, but these days things like that leave a slightly nasty taste in my mouth. A bit of courtesy wouldn’t have come amiss.
Have a good day folks.

monk08 Sat 01-Jun-24 07:23:08

Good morning all from a windy but dry Black country.
Towels in the wash so hopefully if the sun appears they will dry a treat.
A trip into town I need to return a polo shirt for DH, also call in at bank to make some changes on my account.
Tonight we are over to Redditch to see our friends, have met up almost every week for over 50 years.
Well enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later ☀️.

Blossoming Sat 01-Jun-24 07:17:48

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Lancashire, currently 11°C,

Flaming June has arrived, let’s hope it lives up to its name. I had such a lovely day yesterday, I finish the last of the week’s laundry and had a lovely walk.

Unfortunately I was taken ill yet evening and am now in bed following a dreadful night. I’m feeling tired, sore and very fed up. I’ll leave you with this beautiful flower from my walk yesterday.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 01-Jun-24 07:15:34

Oh! I didn’t see that!

Sorry for the confusion, but I do agree. We had a short cruise to Belgium snd northern France ruined by drunken people showing lots of flesh and making lots of noise.
