Good Morning Saturday 1st June 2024

Good morning Bellasnana it’s going to be a scorcher here too on the east coast of Fife. I’m hoping my other friend Marydoll is well enough to enjoy the warm Scottish weather we’re all having lately.(in between the heavy showers)

I had a lovely meeting with my SNP friend Jenny Gilruth yesterday asking if she can tell me what these politicians are suggesting. Conscription from Keir Stammer? and removing taxes from pensioners from the tories, for one thing I’m not wanting my grandchildren who are good kids going into the army nor do I want to receive a higher income from my pension because I’ll just have to pay more tax on my private one. I’m one of the lucky ones who’s got a private pension.
Politics world wide are so toxic at the moment, .anyway I know who I’m going to vote for - the party who have supported me through many my trials and tribulations🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I’ll just have to sit outside in my garden today and contemplate. Oh and my lawn was mowed again yesterday it’s looking beautiful thanks to Megan.

Woke early here in menorca day four of our hols. Going well and hubby relaxing more. The weather was lovely bit windy yesterday but today will be hotter. The scenery here is stunning and only a short flight from home which I like. Can’t get used to doing nothing after such a busy life at home! However will keep trying! Good day to all.

Good morning from a bright South Downs. My goodness it was chilly yesterday in that northern wind, and it looks as if today will be the same.

I did little yesterday, except go to the hairdressers which instead of the usual 2 hours - cut and colour - took 4😮 as we talked so much. I go to her home - now- so we weren’t holding anyone up. She is a nice girl - same age as my daughter, and it was good to hear about her family etc.
After, I pottered into M&S for food and saw their sale was on, so bought a couple of tops. Good to bag a bargain!

Today I must put up with the wind and make a start to finish the last lot of the garden. I had aimed initially to finish by the end of April, but I underestimated the amount of work/rain.
Still, nearly there now. Just one corner near a rose bed to cut down, tie in and plant. Then the little Japanese garden to weed, rake and plant up a pot and decide what to do where a very large pot got blown over snd smashed (massively expensive😮😮) might go for a Japanese lantern - hmm?

Out for a meal with my daughter and son-in-law this evening. Her birthday meal. Shall catch up with all the news then.

Good morning from Bristol.
I had a rubbish night, and hadn’t slept until the early hours. It is rare for me not to fall asleep; my problem is normally staying asleep.
The funeral went well, with the family being very touched that we should attend. Sue hadn’t lived in the complex for much over two years an£ kept to herself on the whole.
It was old at the crem and it took me a lot of the day to warm up again.
I had helped my neighbour , doing up her back zip then letting her out of it again. In return, she gave m3 oranges and eggs, so,I could make a second orange and mincemeat tea bread for her. I was making one for church coffee this morning anyway…
I have finished all the squares for the quilt I am making, “just” need to assemble.
Serving coffee in church today, then sewing.
I hope everyone has a good weekend, free of drunken hen/stag parties! They are loathsome IMHO.

Good morning from sunny Malta where it’s another scorcher.

I’m still in bed with my cup of tea, a luxury as I’m usually with the boys by now.

No real plans today other than the usual cleaning and laundry, then there’s tennis to watch although the rain in Paris has been so bad that there are a lot of matches to catch up on which had to be postponed. Must be a nightmare for all concerned.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Pinch, punch, it’s the first of the month!
I’ve no idea what the weather will be but I can hear the birds singing in the tree just outside my window.
Our daughter is coming for the weekend. We haven’t seen her since Easter. She has seen her two brothers, separately, since their falling out.
I will be cooking a whole trout tonight. One of OH’s friends is a fisherman and gave him quite a large trout. I will stuff it with herbs etc., and bake it whole in the oven.

Good morning from a sunny hillside in south Glos, it’s a beautiful morning here, not a cloud in sight.
I did some gardening bits yesterday and lots of washing that nicely dried on the line.
Today I will not be doing anything much, my ankles and feet are giving me problems so I'm going to sit out in the sun with a book and enjoy the garden.
The patio is finished at last - I do need to put my pots back in place and tidy up bits and pieces. It’s looking good!

Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be a beautiful sunny day

I worked so hard yesterday, had no idea when I woke up but one thing leads to another. Lots of heavy lifting, shifting and moving, outside all day. Two full loads to the tip and 7 huge complicated planters emptied and removed. What a good re-vamp that was and it all started because of a small fig that looked dead but has one tiny green bud at the base.

I have a kilmarnock willow, it was in a tall heavy stone trumpet pot and needed re-potting with fresh compost. I could not get it out so took my lump hammer to the thick pot. Then had to saw 9 inches off the root base but the plant looks revitalised today. It is a beautiful easy-going plant and two more have been ordered. I already have the pots, big volume but shorter and wider, antique brass colour in sturdy plastic

The first bowl of large gooseberries has been made ready for the freezer, cooking reduces the volume by half. Many more to pick but I can have two days off now, waiting for more to grow big.

Obviously today needs to be a rest day for me, I might just go out on my bike or march around the town perimeter first

I shall trot along to the next village for my newspaper bidding good morning to horses, squirrels, rabbits and various birds along the way - I rarely see a human this early!

Will hop on a bus to Deganwy Prom Day later then on to Conwy for lunch and share a bottle of rose in the secret wine garden - must make the most of this weather after all 5he moaning I’ve done since returning from mi Casa!

Good morning from a bright start in Crewe, where I arrived by train yesterday after an excellent journey, only marred by a screaming, drunken hen party on the last leg of the journey after I’d changed trains at Stafford.

Today I’m going by train to Rugeley to have lunch with old friends from the theatre company where I was a member for many years before retiring.

It’s good to know you are keeping well, Mick. Wishing all with health worries some better days ahead.
