Five generation family get-together 🙂

We had 4 generations until my GGF died in his 90s when I was 14. He outlived both GFs! Both GMs lived into their late 80s though.

We are four generations also.I am almost 80, have two sons in their early fifties, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren
I had one great grandmother when I was born, she died when I was 10. My mother was a great grandmother as well, also one of my sisters.
Ii is fairly common now with people living longer, or starting families early.My MIL was also a great grandmother.

We had a 4 generations for ages but not 5.
DMiL died last year aged 98, when the eldest of her ggc was 16.
Whereas I only knew one of my GP.

When my first grandson was born we had 5 generations. My gran was 93 then my mum 70 then me 45 my son 22 and his son a baby now 21. I feel very old 🤣

I doubt if I’ll have any great grandchildren! My granddaughter is 8 and I’m 71…

When my first grandchild was born we had four generations, but three great grannies were still alive. The christening was my mum’s last outing as she died not long after at the age of 92. She was 36 when she had me.

My mother-in-law is 100 now. We are another 4 generations family.

My brother's family have 5 generations now with the birth of his GD a year ago. Don't think we will see it as none of GC's sound like they are planning children any time soon and DM is now 86.

It all depends how old you were when you had babies.
My mum was 38 when I was born.
I was 32 when my son was born.
My mum died when she was 78 so only knew her grandchildren.
I am 74 with grandchildren between 4 and 9 so I doubt I will see great grandchildren either.

We had 5 generations just.... my grandad had his 100 birthday , he passed away few months later.
That baby is now a Grandmother.

I am nearly 76 dh 78 and our two my grabdchildren are still young so no greats for me, won’t be dancing at their weddings either but happy to be part of a 3 generation family.

We have four generations - but on the male side. GS aged 7, son 29, husband 65 and his dad, who is 94.

When my first granddaughter was born, my maternal grandmother was still alive. We have the photo with the 5 generations which made it to the local newspaper. Nan died 2 years later at the age of 95, and that granddaughter is 20 next month!

When our first grandchild was born we had a five generations.
We now have 4 generations . Ages 3 to 92 and have all just been on a weeks holiday together.

What a lovely story, my family are at the 4 generation family stage. I have 9 GC who between them have 8 GGC the oldest being already 9. I’m 75 so it’s certainly possible for us I wonder how many 6 gen families have happened 🤣

Yes, probably annsixty - but maybe not, as you say, if the great-grandchildren don't have children young(ish).
My mum was 40 when I was born which was definitely "old".
Women are giving birth at 40 quite often these days.

My friend aged 82 has D 62 GD42 and GGGD’s 19 and 16, so we feel she will achieve 5 Generations if her family follow the pattern set.

Nice little piece. It means you need to have your children when you aren't very old to have 5 generations.
4 generations must be more usual now I think - if the "matriarch" lives to be 100.
