My first post here. Today we had coffee and sausage and egg and took our dog Jasper to the beach.
I made a banana bread when I got back and hung the bedding on the line from the washing. Love being able to do that. I'm doing little bits of housework between having a rest. This evening I'm making a biriani and some dhal. A very pleasant day.

We didn’t get home until 2am from our babysitting duties, when I woke at 6am I turned over and went back to sleep.

Today I need to get sorting out my clothes and bits and bobs for our escape to Cyprus this week.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞Northampton; slept in till gone 9 this morning!

Yesterday was dull and cold, but the washing (jeans) dried nicely.
I hopped on the bus at lunchtime and went to the shops, having a toastie and coffee in the M&S Cafe before having a mooch around. Didn't need much, but it got me out of the house. Resisted all the lovely clothes in Next at the moment!

Rewatched Friday night's rugby match again when I got back - so happy. My neighbour seems unable to get tickets for Twickenham so will have to watch it from the comfort of my sofa.

Towels are in the washing machine, and after a bacon sandwich I will be going out to cut the back grass. Then I may sit and read in the lovely sunshine 🌞 🌞.
Lamb chops for dinner tonight - which I still need to get out of the freezer.

Absolutely nothing planned for today, will see how I feel. I had a much better night so hope I can get outside while the sun shines.

Thought I’d share this photo. My sister took it this morning taking her dog out. She lives near Estapona and the photo was taken about 7am their time just as the sun was rising. It stays dark until late in the summer then it’s like you flick a switch and it’s sunny all at once!

Isn’t is lovely with the sky and the light on the sea? I could sit and look at that for ages (hmm the dog wouldn’t get much of a walk with me!).

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country...hooray!

The sun struggled to come out yesterday, so although it was dry, it was still fairly chilly. So housework, and tidying garden yesterday.

No real plans today, just relax in the garden under the Gazebo. May contact my friend to see if she fancies a walk if she has no plans. BBQ tonight which will only be the 2nd one this year.

Only just over a week to go until we are off to Portugal. So beware the weather here will suddenly be very hot and sunny!!

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where the sun is shining for a second day in a row.
I went on a foraging for wild food with a group along the shore at South Queensferry yesterday.
Our expert leader then cooked some of the finds. Hogweed fritters are delicious!
We all caught the sun 🌞
I was home just in time for my new volunteer from France who will stay for a couple of weeks and help clear the sitting room in readiness for its new ceiling. She spent the day in buses from Ullapool. She's not up yet.

Good morning everybody from a gloriously sunny south Manchester. It’s a gorgeous morning here. We plan to sit in the shade and enjoy coffee in the square later, then at teatime our whole micro family of nine are getting together in the pub over the road from us for one - before heading into the curry house. Our Yorkshire Lass and her husband (still love saying that!) have said they will swing by to pick up grandpa as they come off the motorway. He’s very much looking forward to a catch up with us all again!

The tree surgeon did his work yesterday and left a hefty bill. There’s still a lot to cut back, which my DS has offered to do.
Lots of thoughts re my DF who passed away last week. So many memories crowding in and it’s hard to believe.

Today I go with DS to lunch with extended family from the south after the scattering of my cousin’s ashes. It’s quite a long journey and I will share the driving. I tried a nice skirt on yesterday, but it was too tight around the waist, particularly so when I have partaken of three courses! It will be nice to see the (diminishing) clan and for DS to meet new family members.

Good morning from Durham. It’s dry, sunny, but again breezy.
After lying awake until 3.30 I’m trying to cat nap as it’s DGS2’s birthday party later today. A few days early, as he’ll be 3 midweek.
I forecast mayhem and bedlam at a soft play venue with 19 little friends and parents! I guess I’ll live to tell the tale.
An uplifting thread today, perhaps due to the better weather.

I had a nosebleed last night, no doubt triggered by by ENT visit on Thursday, so a gentle, careful day today.

Good morning and it’s bright and sunny here at the Suffolk seaside.

GM thanks for the tea loaf recipe. I’ll definitely give it a go, maybe today.

Lovely to see Mizuna back. Not long now 🤞.

Yesterday we were busy in the garden and I’m feeling the affects this morning 😩. Dh worked wonders with his strimmer and I tidied up behind him. We’re still battling the snail invasion. I noticed a snail trail on our kitchen mat this morning. Goodness knows where he’s gone to 🐌.

More of the same today and when our handiman has helped tomorrow, we should be back to ‘normal’. I think we’ll have to keep him on during the summer or by the time we come back , we’ll have to start over again.

We don’t mind working up here (too much) as we have the sea and countryside on our doorstep and it’s a pleasure to be outside . Lots of tea/coffee breaks and a sit down watching the sea.
Everytime I sit in the summerhouse , I think of Roseandlilac and hope that she is enjoying hers too. 🤞.

Roses, DH has a large whisky collection, so I will ask him. Does your DH like peaty or non peaty, that is a major consideration? The Islay ones, like Bruichladdich are always a good choice, but are mainly peaty.

Bonny, you look so well! Long may it continue.

Today is a day of pottering for me, it's the last day of the antibiotics, but I may need another prescription. This infection has knocked the stuffing out of me. DH will hopefully finish building my new bench, to replace the one I fell through! 😱
I will not bore you with the ongoing saga, apart from sharing DH's comment.
....but I did read the instructions carefully. 😉

We have a big event at church today for Corpus Christ, but I have decided not to go. I feel guilty, leaving my young sacristan friend to do everything, However, I need to stay out of the sun and I am weary and know I will struggle to walk.
Also putting on a face is exhausting, many parishioners have no idea of my ongoing ill health. I am an expert at covering up..

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
T-shirt and bare feet weather at last.
Yesterday I went out early to Sainsbury's and got given a free bunch of flowers! They were rather droopy and even more so by the time I got them home. I didn't have much hope for them but cut several inches of their stems and put them in a vase. I was delighted to come back an hour or so later and find them completely perked up. They are beautiful dark red gerbera and roses with purple statice and foliage.
I also drove down to the out of town deli and grocer for 'proper' marmalade and some new season local lamb which is far superior to any from the supermarkets. A nurseryman outside was selling bedding plants so I bought some, saving myself a visit to the garden centre. He actually had a better selection and was cheaper too.
Home for a chat with my sister by phone and an afternoon planting up my purchases and sitting in the garden with a book, the first time this year.

More sitting/working in the garden today after I've done a few jobs and some boring admin.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk,at last. Lovely to wake up to warmth and brightness rather than grey and rain.

We had a lovely lunch with DS and family for DGD1’s 18th birthday followed by cake back at their house. DS entertained us all with stories of escapades he had done in his youth which neither DH or I had heard before. The children’s particular favourite was how he had found a field mouse in the house,put it in an old hamster cage and kept it in the shed and fed it on hamster food. It was a secret he even kept from his sisters. Just wondering what else we might find out about his early life!

Hope today is a sunny one for all. We shall enjoy our walk with the dog in the sun before a day of gentle weeding and reading in the summerhouse.

Sunshine forecast all day so outdoors it is. Group service for our four churches in a cow barn (complete with cows) as it is Rogation Sunday when the crops are blessed. Think they may need it especially this year with the unpredictable weather this spring. Otherwise nothing planned apart from the newspaper and some sedate dead heading and weeding.

Yesterday’s lovely weather felt quite joyous. A mini music festival was taking place in our wee town, there was a real holiday atmosphere when I came out of the hairdresser, so lovely to see people out enjoying the sunshine.

We were home ridiculously late home from the party last night, great to see so many of DH’s family all together though. I believe many were falling into bed after five, I vaguely remember the days I could do that!

I was so pleased for DGD who had been at the District Netball awards ceremony where she was presented with the award for the most improved player, earlier in the week she’d been given the same award by her club so she was doubly delighted. Her hard work is paying off.

We’re going to watch her play in a tournament this afternoon.

Good morning from Wiltshire where the weather is looking better after a very cloudy day all day yesterday.

We went to DGD3’s ballet performance held outside but luckily rain held off. She is such a little dot compared with her contemporaries. I wish she’d eat more. There was a man who had brought a cob horse along for the children to have rides on. I’ve seen the same man outside a pasty shop in the next town sharing one with his lovely horse.

Has anyone noticed there seems to be a far smaller selection of bedding plants this year? It must be down to the dismal Spring. My dahlias are being decimated. We have tried grit, coffee grounds, sheep’s wool and bark to deter the slugs and snails to no good effect and DH has now resorted to slug pellets delivered yesterday. Have never used them before.

Starting to think about packing for our (first) 10 day river cruise along the Danube starting on Thursday. I’m still too nervous to take an ocean cruise atm after our horrendous experience last year. Shame as we love them.
