War Graves Photographic Project

In case people are unaware - there is a War Graves Photographic Project where volunteers have photographed many war graves so you can search their database and then for a small fee (about £4) you can obtain a copy of the photo. I was able to see the grave of my grandmother's first husband who was killed on the Somme this way The website is twgpp.org.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission also has a database where you can find out where someone was buried - cwgc.org

I have found the War Graves people incredibly helpfula dn their site easy to use.

I used it to locate the graves of 3 members of my family and also one whose body was never recovered and whose name is on the Menin Gate.

I also told them that I was related to this soldier in case at a later time a body was recovered and identified.
