Good Morning Everyone ,
A dry but cloudy start here in brackley this morning.
After yesterdays chaos on the roads going to and from Bicester , due to an overturned HGV on the M40 causing problems traffic wise on roads around Bicester .
Today , I am hoping for a more scheduled journey into Bicester and back before I settle down to watch cycling on TV and have my usual Chinese take Away.
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Saturday 8th June 2024
(79 Posts)Good morning from a clear-skied Cornwall, another hot day ahead I suspect. I've been sewing since 4am, attaching lace trim to a renovated top, and watching the sky lighten through the tree tops. A glorious time of day. Loads of tourists at Perranporth yesterday with lots of ice creams! Today I'd like to go to my allotment but my knee will decide... 😁 My son is back from exploring German tunnels so I'm hoping to catch up with him and hear about his adventure.
Good morning from an overcast Bristol.
The Spanish class went well; we discussed sustainable housing/high rise buildings. Many opinions, halting Spanish!
DD came over to lunch with DS and me. She got down to reducing my telephone and electricity bills. After lunch, she wrote the formal letter to complaint to the bank and mailed it to SiL's friend to check. This lady deals with such letters in another bank and has kindly offered to help. It was very hard, emotionally, for me and wrung me out.
They had to leave early to pick Iris up from school. Iris is going camping with her dad for two nights. He’s very good like that. DD and DGD are having a girly time (accompanied by DS!)
Today, I’m serving coffee at church chat thingy. I’ve made an almond and cherry tea loaf. Didn’t have many cherries - hey ho, it’ll have to do. Nicer than generic supermarket biscuits anyway.
Have a good weekend one and all. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a rather grey South Yorkshire. Early rain is forecast but it might brighten up later. Finally got all my pots put back in place on my nice clean patio yesterday and sat outside last night with a celebratory glass of wine after giving all my plants a good watering. Nothing much planned today except an early food shop and general domestic tinkering.
Have the best day you can folks!
Good morning Mick and all who follow, another dry 🌞 day to to come which is good as it’s Pirate Weekend in Conwy so another hop on the bus, lunch and a tipple whilst we watch the frivolities on the quay.
I tried suggesting we ought to don fancy dress but that went down well with MrPG…🤬 (honestly the man has no imagination 😇).
I’m off to fetch my newspaper and will peruse your news anon…x
Good morning! It a cloudy start here on the hillside in south Glos, I do hope it’s warmer today. I lit the wood burner again yesterday afternoon because I couldn’t get warm - that’s ridiculous for June! Lucky you *Mizuna’ having warm weather 😊, please send some here!
Apparently the summerhouse is being removed Wednesday, then I will have a meeting with a lovely local guy who’s drawing up plans for another.
I didn’t do a lot yesterday other than housework and getting the bed changed. The washing dried nicely outside so I’ll do the ironing this morning.
I had a lovely chat with DGC1 yesterday evening, all about his Ninja Lego collection- it’s pretty extensive! His brother’s collection is no less impressive. They spend hours constructing amazing pieces.
Enjoy the weekend 🌹
Good Morning (ha! Not quite) from a thoroughly wet-through Lancs. Is this as good as it'll ever get for the foreseeable future?
Good morning from Malta where it is going to hit 32°C today.
It was so hot overnight that I did not sleep well. I need to get the fan out I think. Although I have a/c, I don’t like it and only use it to if it’s too hot for a fan to cool me down.
I’m babysitting tonight as it is DD3 and SiL’s fifth wedding anniversary so they are going out to celebrate.
Wishing you all a good day.☀️
Good morning all from the east coast of Fife where the sun is starting to shine I had such fun posting first the other day and I’ve had such a lot of support from various people congratulating me for doing so. It’s a matter of what’s right and what’s wrong - this post is for everyone to join in at a times suitable to themselves , so get over it.
Good morning from a cloudy Torbay.
In answer to your question yesterday, glammagran: Today we start a round of long journeys. Firstly, to Staffordshire to watch my DGS3 in a junior production of Annie. After two nights there we shall drive to Portsmouth for an overnight stay in Travelodge before crossing to Ouistreham to spend a month at DH’s home in La Sarthe.
It’s been nearly six months since I stayed there, partly due to health issues and appointments. DH has been very understanding and made several extra journeys here to compensate. Since my TIA was confirmed earlier this year, I’ve been concerned about undertaking long journeys by car unaccompanied, especially abroad, although I love driving, so he kindly comes over to join me for the travel, which I greatly appreciate. Yes, Gingster, a lovely man indeed!
Have a good weekend, everyone, with relief from worries of any kind. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good morning from Durham - sunny, windy, cool and a chance of rain today - I wish it would make up its mind!
The work on the house is paused for the weekend, but I’ve been told that the pretty green moss growing on the roof is damaging the tiles and needs to be removed - no doubt at a considerable cost! Hey ho, it is what it is.
I’ll join DD2 and family for a late breakfast, then bring Little Dog back with me for 10 days as they head to Majorca tomorrow for guaranteed sun. I’ll potter in the garden, then coffee with a friend this afternoon and dog walk in the evening.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's looking like a nice day. I'm glad because I'm hosting a garden party this afternoon for the volunteers at the Community Store.
I had to borrow a lawnmower as my battery one decided to fail. My volunteer helper mowed about half the grass. She'll do the rest today though I do have other plans for her.
My electric kiln has also developed a fault just when there's an exhibition coming up.
Ah well. Only things!
My football crazy DGD was at Wembley yesterday with DS. The photos today show a disappointed face 😥 . How is she going to survive the Euros.
I hope the bank business gets sorted out soon gMattie and your summer house too Roses
Good wishes to you all.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and a beautiful cloudless blue sky. I'm not sure how long that will last though. Ash enjoy your travels. Bellasnana that sounds awfully hot to me! I'm a cool blooded Scot. Pantglas that sounds like fun.
Yesterday dd nipped in with dgs2 after playgroup. He had gone in without drama and had been busy in the art corner. They stayed for lunch and we had a good blether.
Today I will do housework and washing which fingers crossed,I'll get hung out on the line. I have to go to Aldi too. So a domestic day ahead. Have a good day all.
Good morning all from N Bucks where it is a little overcast.
My friend’s funeral yesterday was a truly joyous celebration of a life well lived to the max but of course very moving, especially when her 3 sons, in their late 40’s and 50 spoke. But she would have loved to see so many of us together.
Back to the village pub for more chat and what I understand is the new buffet “trend” - a “sharing table” .
I stayed until early afternoon but when I went back up at 6.30 there were still some dark suits in evidence and it was going like a fair!
I’m off to London again this morning for a big family outing to “Spirited Away” at the Coliseum preceded by lunch at the St Martins Lane Pizza Express. ( Popular with all generations especially the younger ones. )
After the last few days a bit of a lie down will be called for tomorrow.
Wishing you a pleasant day whatever your plans.
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is only 8°C .
We are off with DD and SIL to the farm shop, then to Dollie's dancing display in the same village.
I wish you all a pleasant day.

Ash, Dollie's production is also Annie.
Good morning everyone from Inverness, it was sunny here earlier grandmabatty but it’s grey and cloudy again now
Safe travels Ash and enjoy the show tonight
DD2 and family will be round later, so I’ll have lots to keep me busy. 9yr old DGD has been really poorly with a nasty virus but I’m hoping she’s a bit better today.
Hoping the garden party goes well grammaretto enjoy!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.
I’m hoping for a dry day as it’s the town’s Gala Day and it’s horrible to see the children on the floats looking cold and wet. We’ll go and watch the parade and enjoy the livelyness.
Childminding at DD’s this evening, I’m not sure where she’s gallivanting to but DSoutL is taking the eldest child to watch their rugby team play.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Marg75
Bonnybanko, did you actually get fun out of doing that?
Best to ignore.
…..*get over it*…. Bonnybanko? How unnecessary is that?
😵💫
Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Just the local shops today for one or two bits then back to read my book.
Perhaps give my younger brother a call we haven't spoke to each other for a while he leads a very busy life.
Full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.☀️
Yes I did Marg75 and what’s your problem p? Does everyone not have the right to post first or is it the only chosen few? 😱
It seems simpler for one person (Mick) to post first / less likely to lead to multiple threads / confusion.
Good Morning all from a drizzly North Leicestershire.
A much needed lazy day in prospect today. A quick trip to Tesco and then the papers and easy teriyaki chicken with egg fried rice this evening.
Have the best day possible everyone.
