Another sunny day ahead, so looking forward to more time pottering in the garden. Then meeting some old work colleagues for lunch at our nearby NT cafe, with a walk afterwards. Have a good day, everyone!

Travelling south today. A six hour journey to visit my family. I am driving for the first half so I am hoping for zero holdups .

So far I walked the dog for an hour at 7am, had a coffee and put the washing on, my sister phoned for a chat. I have collected all the bits I need for art group this afternoon, cut back the shrub in the border under the kitchen window and discovered my arum lily is growing nicely despite complete neglect.
Filled the bird feeders and topped up their water.
Just had a chat with my lovely neighbour and am thinking about what’s for lunch. I think I will have a salad and DH can finish up what we had yesterday, it was too spicy for me 🙄

Aquafit then walk the dog then work. I meant to put the washing on early, but got engrossed in a book.

Pottering in the garden this morning - deadheading the roses, battling with the bindweed on the field side hedge, watering the pots, etc. Then Aqua class this afternoon.

Cabbie21 Thu 20-Jun-24 08:36:46

I put washing on early, then I’m off to the hygienist this morning. Lunch with a friend at the garden centre.
Back to my To Do list after that.

Vet at 9, dentist at 11.
That'll be me sorted !

merlotgran Thu 20-Jun-24 08:17:50

Morning all, I’m off to the allotment to water newly planted squash and cauliflowers before the water pressure gets so low it’s a mere trickle. Only a couple of weeks ago we were complaining because it wouldn’t stop raining!!. Ho Hum!

Hope everyone gets to enjoy some sunshine today.

Mr R and I are going to Sainsburys this morning ....... hopefully I will last the distance but if I get too tired he finishes off the shopping and I go and sit in the cafe.
Our eldest daughter is coming here later for her dinner and to watch the England football match. She may regret watching it here because Mr R is very loud and vocal when watching football matches ....... I can see her ducking out at half time hmm Luckily she only lives up the road to us.

Meeting up to play board games with like minded people this morning then home to tidy up as old friends round at 2pm for a cuppa and a catch up. This evening I'm playing scrabble with 3 others who live in the same housing scheme. We use our communal lounge.

Tidied up a bit
Hung washing out
Filled birdbath, fed the birds and squirrels
Did 45 minutes of aqua aerobics
Crosswords, reading and tv
Went to Aldi

Thank you HelterSkelter1. Yes, I need to do demanding things in the morning.
I agree a walk by the sea would be lovely.
I have been messing about on my ipad and done a few easy jobs.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 19-Jun-24 17:35:20

Cabbie21. My self assessment is on my to do list. But that has to be a morning thing when brain is at its best. All down hill from midday.

4.30 is a funny time. If I lived by the sea it would be a perfect time for a walk til 6.30.. Am very envious of those living on the coast.
I could go and water some plants in tubs which are now in the shade and a bit thirsty after a sunny day. Two hours whizzes by in the garden.

I am at that point in the day when I don’t know what to do. Sounds silly, put like that. I was busy with admin this morning and have been to a u3a meeting this afternoon. Tea is “one I made earlier” from the freezer. Normally I would have a choir practice to go to this evening but we have broken up for the summer.
Of course there is plenty I could do, eg cleaning, sorting, mending, gardening, reading, do my Self Assessment tax return, listen to music, watch TV…….. but it is a weird time to start something at 4.30pm. And yet there are many more hours in the day still.

What do you do when you don’t know what to do?

kircubbin2000 Wed 19-Jun-24 11:40:12

Not doing much this morning as I am getting ready to go out at 12.00 and can't relax enough to start a new task.
When I come back I may tidy the greenhouse and repot some plants. Then I shall do my puzzles and read the paper.

merlotgran Wed 19-Jun-24 10:40:18

Just off out for coffee with a friend at our favourite beach café then hopefully a bit of gardening this afternoon.

Parsley3 Wed 19-Jun-24 10:29:09

I am looking after my toddler granddaughter just now and will take her to nursery later. Then I am off to pilates.

Mollygo Wed 19-Jun-24 10:08:02

Got up at 4.30am for the dog. It’s amazingly light by then, so we went for a very early morning walk and surprisingly met another dog walker on the field.
Washing on (just the dog’s bedding) because it’s fine today, but now I’m resting after the early start in preparation for afternoon tea with some gym friends and she’s snuggled next to me.

Thought Michael hadn’t started Good Morning thread, there are two

henetha Wed 19-Jun-24 09:51:35

It's Lady Gaga's MOT today. Lady Gaga is my car. So we're driving into town feeling very wary of what awaits us.

keepcalmandcavachon Wed 19-Jun-24 08:30:19

Walking into town with my little shaggy mutt, leaving him with the lovely groomers , going for a coffee in peace without 'sad what about me eyes' followed by a bumble around the shops then lastly picking up a bouffant powder puff of a boy to bring home with me!

LucyAnna2 Wed 19-Jun-24 07:45:29

Sunny weather forecast today, so we’re planning a walk this morning and a picnic lunch on a beach. GD twins staying the night tonight, as their parents are out for the night (wedding anniversary meal).

Maggiemaybe Tue 18-Jun-24 19:41:21

Stayed in bed late, reading my latest book. DH kindly brought me breakfast in bed. smile

Radio 2’s Ten to the Top, where I scored an impressive 6 on each round to DH’s 15.

Finished the jigsaw, in front of three episodes of Bridgerton (we’re late adopters of Netflix).

Did the school pick up for two grandsons, equipped with a hammer and chisel to smash into a few geodes we’d brought them back from our holiday.

Now getting ready for a wet walk to our usual weekly pub quiz.

I swear I’ll be more productive tomorrow.

merlotgran Tue 18-Jun-24 15:37:08

A busy morning on the allotment harvesting broad beans, new potatoes, sugar snap peas, strawberries and the last of the rhubarb. I’m now in the kitchen making turkey burgers for the freezer.

Thank goodness for some nice weather at last.

HowVeryDareYou2 Tue 18-Jun-24 13:33:28

Had an x-ray
Cleaned the kitchen, mopped the floor.
Hoovered the stairs.
Did some washing, hung it out.
That's enough for me today
