I plan to start my refurbishment of a bird table which someone threw out and which needs some tlc I plan to paint it blue. Also swimming later, but a bit of tiidying up first. The joys of retirement!

Daughter and grandchildren visiting today, so early walk with our dog. Sunny weather means an opportunity to wash the duvet and have it dry before bedtime. Great excitement when a favourite author was offering 12 ebooks for 99p each. Disappointment was finding I already have them, but at least it’s reminded me to reread them.

Both sons are visiting me today. And the water's turned off due to a burst main . This will be fun. grin

Mizuna Sun 16-Jun-24 09:27:31

To my son's to watch the footie. 14-year-old grandson not interested so he'll be drawing somewhere in the background but my son and I will jump up and down when England score. 😁

Church this morning as usual. Daughter and grandson popping in this afternoon. He has just finished his GCSEs and they are off to Lisbon for a short break, just the two of them.
Evensong tonight with extended choir, so rehearsal beforehand.
I had to turn down an invitation from my son.

Church.
A member has died.
It will be sad.

Best wishes for you and your DH, Saturn

Off to watch a DGS in a football match this morning - hope the weather keeps fine! Then a pub lunch I think.

Bonnybanko Sun 16-Jun-24 07:39:24

I’ll be going to meet a few friends in church today then I’ll plan the week ahead and write it in my diary in case I forget, my Calendar on my iPad is wonderful at reminding me of my appointments

Saturn, I hope he is doing well! My DH had the same 8 years ago, and is still doing well. Recovery did take a long time for him; his sternum was sore for ages. Slow and steady wins the race.

Saturn Sat 15-Jun-24 21:34:35

I went to hospital to bring my DH home, he had triple heart bypass surgery 8 days ago 😊

NotAGran55 Sat 15-Jun-24 19:14:58

Batch cooking and a few errands this morning.
Watching tennis from Nottingham now, Katie 🇬🇧 & Emma 🇬🇧 in the semi-final .

crazyH Sat 15-Jun-24 12:43:11

Nothing - watching Trooping the Colour !

Purplepixie Sat 15-Jun-24 12:39:26

I’ve changed all the bedding (2 beds), made some ginger cake and walnut shortbread and now having a sausage sandwich for lunch. This afternoon I am going to try and sort out some photos for my youngest son. He wants a photo album put together. Not online but the old fashioned method. I think this is going to take days and maybe weeks.!

When you go and do a short length of hedging and end up with a wheelbarrow of dead wood #firewood

Mollygo Sat 15-Jun-24 11:49:08

Trying out the pink stuff to see if it’s as good as the orange stuff we bought in France.
Walked the dog early, because it’s threatening thunderstorms up here. This afternoon, we are going to watch DGD play water polo.

JamesandJon33 Sat 15-Jun-24 11:15:13

Proof reading.
Lunch
Off to DDs for haircut and Father’s Day tea as her DH is working tomorrow .

Baggs Sat 15-Jun-24 11:11:09

Laundry washed and hung up on the gnu (overhead airer), watercolour sky painted (not very successfully), coffee and biscuits consumed. Now it's a toss up between hedging and ironing before lunch. I think hedging will win. Midgy weather will mean the midge jacket is in service as well as the hedge trimmer.

Today is the last day of our trip to Spain. We are doing some washing and packing and this afternoon some reading in the pool. An evening meal in the villa tonight and an early start tomorrow. I'm sad it's gone so quickly but I'm very excited to see our little dog tomorrow when we pick him up.

Esmay Sat 15-Jun-24 11:06:56

I've had a rough few days and I'm looking forward to a trip to the plant nursery plus afternoon tea .

Parsley3 Sat 15-Jun-24 10:58:45

Oh, fingers crossed, Marydoll.

Marydoll Sat 15-Jun-24 10:35:49

At last, I have just injected myself with my new medication. I have dithered for about an hour. grin

Ouch! Much more painful than the last ones. It has been postponed for months, as I wasn't well enough.

DH is on anaphylaxis alert, with strict instructions what to do, if anything untoward happens!

Nannyof4mummyof2 Sat 15-Jun-24 10:27:07

Ready and waiting to go and have my makeup trial as mother of the bride very 😊

winterwhite Sat 15-Jun-24 10:11:56

Sorting our jumbled mass of (1) light bulbs and (2) batteries onto more easily accessible shelves created for the purpose by chucking out loads of junk. Feel pleased with myself.

Cabbie21 Sat 15-Jun-24 09:59:10

Chores this morning. This afternoon my grandson is coming to help with some jobs I can’t manage. I hope he turns up as he didn’t go home night.

Pantglas2 Sat 15-Jun-24 09:32:39

Well it’s a good job I’m an early riser because the weather has changed from sunshine for my walk at 6.30 to torrential rain now!

Lovely raspberry jam Bonnybanko - always my favourite because it’s the easiest to make isn’t it …no hulling, topping and tailing, de stoning etc

Happy birthday Dragonfly 🥂

I shall watch Trooping of the Colour and ⚽️ later but a quiet day otherwise - suits me sometimes!

Beauregard Sat 15-Jun-24 09:18:05

Planting out my remaining 15 pumpkins and gourds, hopefully before the rain arrives late morning.

Happy birthday Dragonfly 💐
