Nothing exciting today, just shopping, promenading the pooch and another jigsaw. I may get a phone call from DGS asking if we’ve any jobs we’d like doing, so I’m preparing a list.

That was in reply to pascal’s assessment of my sock heels

Just had solar panels installed on the roof and the scaffolding hasn't been removed yet so I've just been up to clean out the back gutters. Very handy, at least we don't have to get the gutter cleaners to do it now grin

This afternoon I'm making an orange cake with ground almonds.

DH and I have just finished a speedy hedge cut in case it rains again.

This afternoon I'm going to make some shortbread.

Having eaten Guinness chocolate cake and cold custard for my second breakfast (I'm definitely a hobbit in that respect!), slept for two hours, then eaten a leftover half of margarita pizza for lunch I'm considering tackling a sock heel and working on my current watercolour painting this afternoon.

aren't sock heels a bit chewy...

That made me chuckle, pascal30!

Spent the morning on the group allotment and this afternoon I’ll be making an arrangement of foliage from the allotment for a memorial event this evening for one of our gang who sadly died last month. It’s been quite a challenge collecting enough ‘stuff’ to make a display that does not include garden flowers so I deliberately allowed some plants to bolt or set seed. Herbs of course are allowed!

I’m a glutton for punishment! 😂

Walked the dog, and hoovered downstairs. Later I’m going to pick DGD up from school as it’s another heavy bag day and take her shopping on the way home.

I've just seen my GP who has sent me to our local hospital to have my troublesome knee x rayed. So I'm presently waiting at Radiology, scrolling through GN to pass the time.
Enjoy your day, whatever you are up to.

I’ve just eaten two warm sausage rolls.
And a packet of hula hoops.

It's grey here this morning in south Devon. Rain is expected soon. I think I'll just be doing my weekly shopping. It's so busy on Friday and Saturday, so today is best.

Gym, then quick trip to M&S to collect order, expecting to be disappointed as always think stuff is going to look as gorgeous on me as on the models, ah well, live in hope, dog walk in the woods and then my lovely daughter and family coming to dinner, my younger gd is excited about going to uni in September so lots to chat about, she got her nans feisty gene so will be absolutely fine 😀

travelsafar Thu 13-Jun-24 07:50:26

Off to.play a board game. I meet up with several others at a local hotel and we play for 2 hours. We purchase coffees so don't get charged for using the space and of course it makes the bar look busy😊
Then I have an appointment at the hairdresser to have my long hair cut short🙈 feeling nervous about that but know I need a change of style as hair getting thinner due to age and certain medications. Fingers crossed I like it!!!

karmalady Thu 13-Jun-24 07:41:34

I have said my hello on the GM thread, that one is like being on a walk, saying hello to a friend or stranger, which I do, saying a few words and then carrying on with whatever fills the day.

Making a list of what I actually do in a day would be completely boring and of no interest to anyone else

LucyAnna2 Thu 13-Jun-24 07:35:13

Going swimming this morning, then meeting a friend for lunch at a nearby NT place. Weather looks reasonable.

CanadianGran Wed 12-Jun-24 17:42:04

Today: work until 4pm, then weights workout, dinner, must do ironing. That's bout it for me today... boring!

Chocolatelovinggran Wed 12-Jun-24 16:26:30

Well, the one year old and I survived yesterday. Today is the school run for my oldest grandchildren and yoga. I am the dunce of my yoga class, but ... nothing ventured, nothing gained.

RosesandLilac Wed 12-Jun-24 15:27:40

Hi! Today I walked the dog with a friend before sitting waiting for the summerhouse to be collected and, hooray! It’s gone 👏
I have done very little since other than winding a skein of sock yarn and getting into a right caddle. I should have gone a looked for my winder thingy but I have no idea where I have put it so thought I’d do it with the skein around my knees…..🙄🫣🫢🤬
Before I tackle the next skein I WILL go and find the winder wotsit 🙏

When I join somewhere new, I will just talk to people arund me. We were in a queue at an Open Farm event on Sunday. the people in front commented on something I said to DH and then we commented on what they said and we were soon chatting away. Once we had collected our burgers, we went our seperate ways. But I will cheerfully chat to anyone in a casual way

So far today, I have been into the market in pour local town and loaded up with the next weeks fruit and veg, hung two lots of washing out and I am now going out into the garden to weed a couple of flower beds.

NotAGran55 Wed 12-Jun-24 14:58:41

Not long back from the food bank where we are preparing to pack supplies for more than 1100 children during the 6 weeks school holidays. A sobering statistic.
Having a coffee now and a few minutes break before starting a bit of office work.
