Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very cool, cloudy South Yorkshire. We are hurtling through June with little sign of summer. And where are all the butterflies this year? I’ve seen hardly a on. There were house martins about last week too, but they have disappeared.
Writers group at the library this afternoon and a bit of shopping while I’m at the mall.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good Morning Wednesday 12th June 2024
(57 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but with a grey looking sky this morning, in brackley .
Yesterday , after my Wiltshire Farms delivery I caught a later bus to Bicester ,as the bus was about just over a mile out , coming towards us in the northbound carriageway ,was the PM with the usual Police escort on there way to Silverstone .
My usual routine trip to Bicester , apart from coffee and a shop after , will probably meet up with a female friend ,as we have got to talk quit allot before she gets her bus .
Then return home watch cycling on TV ,and do the normal .
Take Care,
Mick
Liberty a very happy birthday to you.
Good morning and another dreary start here in Essex.
I know I’m odd but if I had a choice of hot sun or this cool dreary weather , I’d choose this.
😳 🤯🥵.
I had a lovely full day yesterday , enjoying my my different groups. When I arrived for the play reading I saw my ‘surrogate daughter’ in the park with new baby and toddler. I gave her a hug and she hung on and was tearful. She’s finding motherhood very tough. She has no mum and the in-laws are being difficult. 😢.
Today I’ll go to church and meet my old neighbour/friend for coffee in town. It’s market day so the tea rooms will be busy.
Roseandlilac hope you’ll see the back of that ‘bummerhouse’ today.
Enjoy your holidays GG and Nannyjan and everyone having a day out.
Take care 🌸
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
It was chilly during the night, like karma I had to get up and put something on, in my case an old t shirt. That's what comes of putting your summer weight duvet on when you know it's only theoretically summer!
I didn't achieve much in the way of housework and admin yesterday as I spent much time mulling over potential autumn holidays. I have to get some sun somewhere but nowhere where it will be boiling hot. I finally settled on Menorca. DH and I always wanted to see the harbour in Mahon which figured in his beloved Hornblower novels but, sadly, we never got round to it. My holiday will feature a boat trip on it so I will say hello for him.
Today I will shortly be off into town to collect a prescription and be tempted by ready meals in M&S's food hall that I shouldn't be eating i.e ones with red meat in them. I shall probably succumb, weak-willed person that I am.
Maybe some gardening after lunch if the weather holds up.
I hope you all have a good day.
Happy Birthday, Liberty!🎂💐
Happy birthday Liberty have a great day🎉🎂🎁.
Many happy returns Liberty, hope you have a wonderful time celebrating.🥳
Joseann how lovely! Very serene.
Happy birthday Liberty. I hope you have a lovely day. 💐.
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 10 °C and cloudy.
A busy thread this morning, I am currently drinking cold tea¡ DH brought me a cuppa an hour ago and I fell back asleep!
We had a lovely day in Helensburgh yesterday, apart from moving only three miles in an hour in a massive traffic jam.
The selfishness and discourtesy of some drivers never ceases to amaze me.
A little bit of retail therapy, a delicious tapas lunch, followed by tablet ice cream and a gentle stroll along the front made it a perfect day.
GM, I got talking to the owners of the fabric shop about your quilting. Much to my amazement, they sell online. The shop reminds me of the shops of my childhood, crammed to the ceiling and every nook and cranny with stock.
fabricandfinery.co.uk
Also, I treated myself to a China mug from a shop which sold only glassware and china.
I like tea from a China mug and I have dropped two in the last month, due to my painful and week hand.
There was no order to the chaos, but lots of beautiful stock. Another memory of my childhood.
The elderly owner bare spoke a word, DH and I were quite bemused.
The day out has left me exhausted, but it was worth it.
Today I am going to get my hair cut and of course shall enjoy hearing all the local gossip,
Have a very happy birthday, Liberty!
A wee reminder of the Glesca Grannies meet up on Wednesday 16th June
Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans.
Joseanne, that is stunning!
Toi aussi passe une bonne journée!.
You will have noticed, I am using the familiar form. 😉 This is a very welcoming thread.
Morning from a brightening S Hants, I too was cold last night, I’m pleased we left the electric blanket on our bed.
Happy Birthday Liberty 🥳🎂🥂
Well done on your singles evening gMattie I hope your efforts are appreciated.
We got lost driving through Le Mans once Ash too busy looking at the race paraphernalia and ended up on the Paris road!
After a quiet day with housework yesterday I need to get out today, might go to the seaside for a stroll, not as stunning as yours Joseann
🦩🦩
Good morning everyone from a wet south Manchester where once again, a really heavy shower has just hit us … and gone within 5 minutes. The sky is brightening again. Such strange weather for June isn’t it?
I shall wear my raincoat to walk up to the dental hygienist late morning. Himself will set off in the opposite direction to the salon to have all his nails snipped and a foot massage which he loves. He has had this done regularly every 3 weeks since September. His feet look so nice now I told him he could model Birkenstocks!
At teatime I’m off to watch L’il Miss swim. It’s a pleasant hour for us 3 girls as I also get chance to enjoy a catch up with her mum too.
A very Happy Birthday Liberty and I hope you enjoy the concert later 💐🥂🎉
Good morning from a chilly dull Cambridgeshire although I guess warmer here than some other areas. Yesterday evening I put the heating on as fed up of being cold!
Today will be housework, gardening doing jobs at home. The last two days have been helping DD2 with her new home but she is getting there. DH is worn out with all the DIY and escaping on his bike so I have the house to myself for a couple of hours.
Have a good day everyone
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is cold.
I got lost in IKEA this week and could have bought a new rug for DGS2 Grandmabatty I couldn't find one for my bathroom.
It's my French helper's last day today. She seems to have enjoyed her stay and been delightful company. My df is even enlisting her to come back as a house sitter later this year.
We were at that friend's for lunch and the grand tour yesterday. It involves feeding hens and mowing grass but in lovely surroundings.
Oh goodness R&L what a palaver! I sincerely hope you end up with what you really want.
Hoping for a good day for everybody.
Good morning from a very chilly Sussex where DD has just suggested I wear the sweater she told me to pack - role reversal now complete! Yesterday involved the AA to deal with a flat tyre and a very succesful visit to Hinton Abner where the house is full of wonderful flower arrangements and the garden is stunning with roses, fox gloves and paeonies. All that in the sunshine and a wonderful National Trust cream tea - perfection. Today has yet to be decided on.
Good morning everyone from Severnside. It’s very sunny.
Wishing you a Happy Birthday Liberty 🎉🎁🎂
Gorgeous photo Joseann in the very early morning sunshine. A beautiful beach. I can just see your shadow on the sand! Lucky you.
Marydoll the 16th June is this Sunday! 🤔🤔
Morning all , it’s cold dull and miserable here in Co Armagh
Managed to annoy next door neighbour (my daughter )
I’m off out to our last weekly village club meeting , we will have lunch in the pub next door , and I’ll stay as long as possible 😉 hoping things have simmered down 🙄
Enjoy the rest of the day folks 👋
