Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry but with a grey looking sky this morning, in brackley .
Yesterday , after my Wiltshire Farms delivery I caught a later bus to Bicester ,as the bus was about just over a mile out , coming towards us in the northbound carriageway ,was the PM with the usual Police escort on there way to Silverstone .
My usual routine trip to Bicester , apart from coffee and a shop after , will probably meet up with a female friend ,as we have got to talk quit allot before she gets her bus .
Then return home watch cycling on TV ,and do the normal .
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Wednesday 12th June 2024
(56 Posts)Good morning, grey skies and chilly here on a hillside in south Glos.
Well we spent yesterday dismantling the summerhouse and dragging it into the front garden for collection this morning, it nearly finished me off but no option. I subsequently had a bad night, I might well go back to bed after it’s collected.
Little else done yesterday apart from walking the dog.
No idea what else I might get done today!
Have a nice day 🌹
Good morning from a bright ish Bristol.
No sun today, but no rain either. I’ll have to water my plants again. I have some sunflower seedlings on a window sill, but am reluctant to plant them out due to the voracious slugs!🐌
Our singles evening brought in about 18 people, mostly widows, with one delightful widower. My various preparations went down well too. Cheese, wine, savoury bits then brownies…
I had hoped to attract more people from different areas of the church. Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed themselves and said they would like more of these events on an ad hoc basis. Someone wanted outings - they can organise them themselves!
I Was very tired when I got home after washing up and tidying the church up and dozed through “Sewing bee”. I shall have to catch up on iPlayer.
I’ve got a residents’ coffee morning today as well as my book group in the afternoon.
Our book is “Miss Benson’s Beetle”. It is absolutely charming, quite bonkers and a delightful read. I strongly recommend it, if you fancy something lightweight but not girlie.
I hope you all have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
You must be so glad to be rid of the appalling summerhouse, rose. And trust you will give them the terrible review they deserve when the inevitable survey arrives!
Good morning from s somerset, cooler again today and probably dry
I actually got up out of bed and put bedsocks on last night. I got so chilled during the evening that I went to bed early to read. Seems as though I will need to change into something warmer for the evening on most days at the moment
I pottered all day yesterday and it was enjoyable, I even got to wear my newly made envigado vest when I went for my walk. Happy me, it felt perfect and the lime colour suited me.
My dell laptop has been switching itself off, I have had months of warning about low battery. I keep it plugged in during the day but the battery must give it a boost now and then when it is working. I think the battery is dead now and I have sent for another and printed 12 pages of instructions on how to do it. I also ordered some canned air, I think the fan area will need cleaning too
Today will be pottering, a cover-all word for having no idea for anything specif but as always the day will evolve and I will not get bored
Have a good day
Good morning Mick and all who follow from the Black country, bit overcast at the moment but a dry day is expected.
DH is fishing hence the early start.
My plans will be a beef bourguignon in the slow cooker and then I shall take myself off to meet friends.
Roses hope all goes well with the summerhouse collection bet you will be glad to see the back of it.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from a chilly but bright part of La Sarthe, where we arrived safely yesterday after a smooth crossing and an easy drive from Ouistreham. There were many smart cars on the ferry (Porsche, Lotus, Morgan’s, etc) with their throaty engines echoing around the deck as we disembarked.
They were en route to Le Mans for the 24 hr race due to be run this weekend. In past years, DH and his late wife attended regularly (DH for 22 years!) and I have been a few times in the past but we (or rather, I) can’t really cope with it now. It was an exciting novelty for me when we were first together.
Younger cat is due at the vet's today to have wire removed from his jaw under GA which is from an injury repair following a car accident a few weeks ago.
Gosh - you could write a book about your summerhouse saga, RosesandLilac! Hope you feel better later.
I’m glad your gathering was well attended, grandMattie; no doubt others will ensue.
Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good morning from Malta. Another hot day in store 34°C
The boys are both still asleep so all is quiet at present.
I need to pick up a few things at the DIY store later as I’ve a couple of jobs to do to spruce up my patio furniture and paint the walls of my back yard. The sunshine has made everything look shabby.
Have a good day all.☀️
Good morning from what is promised a fine if not boiling hot day.
Off to Wakehurst today - the country part of Kew where they keep a world seed bank. The gardens are extensive and the trees impressive. We shall probably have lunch there, if it looks OK, and I might find myself in the plants for sale section.
Yesterday was a very quiet day after my exertions in the garden, but I enjoyed the more relaxed time and pottered, after drying and ironing the weeks washing.
My mouse re-cycling has slowed down considerably, perhaps they are finding their new residence more comfortable.
Enjoy your day all
Peace and harmony
Morning all from sunny Cyprus where it is already 27° and should reach 32° 🌞🌞🌞
More reading, lounging and eating probably a gentle stroll later.
Enjoy your day everyone 🙋♀️
Good morning from a grey, chilly Colchester. 15° and rainy today.
Usual Wednesday coffee meetup in the City centre this morning.
Please send us a bit of your sunshine Bella and GG, I'm sure you could do with a bit less 😉
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and cloudy. RosesandLilac I hope the company pick up their awful summer house quickly for you. GrandMattie hurrah for a successful evening! Well done. Bellasnana that's very industrious of you, particularly in the heat.
Yesterday was a difficult day for dgs2. He was in such distress with pains in his innards. The wee soul has such awful constipation. Despite valiant efforts on his part, nothing was shifting. In between times, he was playing happily. I arrived back from picking them up to be greeted by my neighbour who was weeding. Dgs1 immediately pulled her over to show her grandma's fountain. Thank goodness my kitchen was tidy! So over she comes to admire the fountain, the peas, strawberries and carrots and she ends up playing football with him at half seven in the morning. Thank goodness too that my next door neighbour is very deaf. ☺️. Later, after I dropped them both home, dgs1 was excited to hear I was going with him to his swimming lesson. It was really heartwarming how happy he was for me to see him swim. On the way there, his dad phoned to say dgs2 had been successful, if you know what I mean. So successful, they'll need to buy a new living room rug.
Today I had nothing planned, but a friend has organised coffee for a small group of us in our usual place. I will have to get a birthday present for one lady before we meet up, so a trip to town this morning now becomes necessary. Pasta and bolognaise sauce for dinner tonight. Have a good day all.
Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
Heating is on again as temperature is down in single figure.
SIL and I had a successful shopping trip yesterday, he has lost a lot of weight and needed new trousers and shorts which he found.
I like Crew clothing for casual holiday wear and found several items that came home with me.
SIL left soon after dinner as he had preparation to do, he is returning to Brussels tomorrow.
DS is working in Cambridge this week and has posted some lovely photographs, I haven't visited there since DD was at university.
A quiet day for me, hopefully read my book.
Have a good day.
Good morning all from cloudy North Leicestershire.
Today is the last day of the Carer Learning course. This one focuses on the need for the carer to look after themselves, so yesterday I baked cakes!! Hope to sit down this afternoon.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning Mick, morning All from a bright if chilly corner of Somerset.
We’re both pleased with yesterdays sorting of our side path, it looks so much better. It seems I’ve finally persuaded Mr C of the benefits of pacing these things. Coffee with neighbours this morning before heading off to a shopping, mall more in hope than expectation.
A good result yesterday grandmattie. Thank you for the book recommendation. Mr C would have loved those cars ash and Le Mans. Me? Not so much, or more accurately not at all. Hope you’ll feel better once that wretched summerhouse has gone roses. It’s been more than stressful.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning from a grey W Kent. I seem to have developed a cough, I do t feel particularly ill but all sorts of wheezy noises, see how I go.
Luckily not much that has to be done today.
Glad the summerhouse is on its way Roses
Best wishes to all
Good morning from Durham. It’s pouring down here again, how much longer! It’s quite depressing.
The plan is that the scaffolding around the house will be removed today - it’s only going next door, as my neighbour wants the same work on her house. The electrician needs to come back after it’s all gone. It’s been a long couple of weeks and I’ve stayed in most days - I’m a bit fed up to say the least.
GN should have a review page and Roses could kick it off with her summer house!
I look forward to reading later posts today.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from a sunny Albufeira
Arrived early afternoon yesterday. The queues for security at Birmingham Airport were horrendous, stretching outside. Luckily we had bought a fast track and didn’t have to join it!
Lazy day today relaxing on the beach. The photo is the view from our apartment.
Wishing you all a pleasant day
Good morning from a grey morning on the South Coast, we had a lovely afternoon on the beach and a nice walk back to the ‘Inn’. It was good to see MrOops old school mate and his wife and the food here was excellent.
Off to see another of MrOops old friends for lunch, then a family visit at tea time.
We’ve decided not to move, but when I come back to my home area, I am very sorely tempted.
Anyway, have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from bright and dry South Lanarkshire.
Enjoy your chat with your friend Mick.
Dreadful service Roses, hope you have a restful day.
Getting the three children up and out yesterday morning was chaotic and challenging, they seemed to go from sleepy to super lively at the speed of light.
DH worked in their garden during the day whilst I did a bit of tidying and cleaning before pick up time.
Nothing planned for today except to go to a friend’s house this evening for a bit of a catch up.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy and dull Northampton, showers forecast again, but I may try to get the towels washed. Fed up with this weather, have just put the heating on again...... I've just heard it's going to be like this till the end of the month.
I was thrilled with my new hairdresser yesterday; she has done exactly what I wanted, and don't feel the need to instantly rewash and style my hair! The colour is different as well, more muted with ash blonde highlights.
Finished my enjoyable book club read yesterday and then started a new charity shop book which has been languishing on the shelf for a couple of years.
Shall potter about this morning, probably clean the bathrooms, wash the floors, and Hoover upstairs. Bins to put out for collection tomorrow. May cut the back grass this afternoon if it's dry.
Have a pleasant day everyone.
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Lancashire, currently 11°C.
Yesterday we were quite busy with housework, shopping, laundry and a little decluttering. Does decluttering ever end?
We received our polling cards for the general election. Yesterday evening I read that there will be 6 candidates taking part in the hustings in this city. I know who our MP is, but I’ve no idea who the others are. It will be live streamed so I shall watch with interest.
No real plans for today, just pottering and reading.
Have a good day wherever you’re doing 🌻
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Our garden is looking beautiful. The gardener spent nearly three hours yesterday pruning, weeding and planting. The house is sparkling too after our cleaning lady’s ministrations. I shouldn’t feel guilty for having help in the house - we are employing someone!
Coffee with friends this morning. It was their son in law who was killed tragically over a fortnight ago. The funeral is arranged for a fortnight’s time. There had to be a pm and an enquiry.
OH will visit his bees this afternoon for the first time since he took their honey!
I will make a cake from my European cake recipe book. It contains lemon and blackberries.
It is the last Local History society meeting of the season tonight. I’ll go along to that even I’m not sure it’s a topic I’m interested in. It’s good to support local endeavour imo.
Have a good day everyone. You all sound so busy!
Good morning from a dull but dry Suffolk. It’s my usual keep fit class and later DH and I are off to Norwich for a concert ‘ A century of swing’ in the theatre playhouse. It is my birthday today and, although the concert would not be my choice,I’m happy to go.
DH2 bought the tickets for DH’s birthday last December, having checked with me first that it was ok to go today. It is a one only performance so she had no choice DSinL had been when the band were performing in Hull earlier last year and said it was brilliant. He and DH share the same musical taste in jazz and Big Band music.
Our dog is having a sleepover with our lovely neighbours so she will be happy. Hope today is a good one for all.
Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s grey and cloudy again but at least it’s not raining
What a shame about the summerhouse saga roses you’ll be glad to see the back of it
Today I’m meeting up with some friends that I met at the gym that closed, we’re all doing different things now so it’ll be good to hear their news.
Enjoy your holidays GG13 and NannyJan and everyone else away, please send sunshine!
Hope you get out soon Georgesgran
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings💐
