Good Morning Saturday 15th June 2024
(52 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken up to a clear blue sky and sunshine here in brackley at the present moment .
Yesterdays visit to check electric wiring in my flat , I saw the person early ,and then was able to do my usual routine of going to Bicester .
Today will see Bicester as usual hopefully see those I have got to know for a chat then maybe a shop as well before coming home.
A light lunch and a Chinese take Away later .
Take Care,
Mick
👋 welcome MaeMae
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a cloudy South Yorkshire where the weather is looking rather ominous again today. Teatime yesterday saw thunder, torrential rain, and hailstones that left the garden white over! My plants took a battering just as some were starting to look their best. Very depressing. I hope they have better weather in London this morning for the Birthday Parade.
DS and DiL are coming for lunch today so it looks as if we shall be stuck indoors all day. Hey ho.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning from a wet South Downs - soon to be a windy and wet South Downs. Roll on summer!
Yesterday just went to the garden centre, but they didn’t have anything we wanted which was a pain. I want some autumn flowering bulbs - but zilch. DH wanted protection against Tofu - zilch. So that was a waste of time.
Today is a day in because of the weather. So nothing planned, but that is how I like it.
Enjoy your day all
Peace and harmony to the world.
Good morning from a lovely sunny Sefton. Gosh haven't said that in a while. I am ignoring the the grey clouds hovering on the horizon. Like some of you I will also be watching Trooping the Colour. We are so good at pageantry.💂♀️This afternoon we are off to a matinee performance of Spamalot by our local amateur musical theatre company 'starring' our 2 sons & DiL2 - well they are 'starring' as far as I'm concerned. They always put on an excellent show. It's also a good excuse to have takeaway for tea.
Have a good day.
Good morning, very early morning 1 a.m. in Texas. Hello! So glad I found this place. I recently retired from teaching. I went straight to watching my 2 GDs 3-4 days a week, they are 3 and 4, usually from 7a.m to 7 p.m. high energy all day.
I am 64, youngish and exhausted most of the time. I love them dearly but it is very hard emotionally. I broke down crying alone tonight. I am not a cryer normally.
Enough of my baggage. Today is a fresh start.
Regards t all. ha
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and cloudy. Dry at the moment. Brook that is good news! I hope it goes through.
Yesterday dd popped in with dgs2 who was on good form. He chatted ceaselessly. Normally his big brother doesn't give him a chance. Dd borrowed my KitchenAid so no baking was done. I pottered about in the afternoon.
Today I'm meeting a friend for breakfast. We usually sit for a couple of hours and chat. I'll have to go early and get her a small birthday present. Then this afternoon, I'm meeting another friend for coffee in town. We go to a café which makes amazing treacle scones and that's what we always have. In between, I'll strip the bed and do a wash. The rest of the housework can wait til tomorrow. I hope you all have a good day
A grey start to the day but with nothing planned apart from watching the Trooping and possibly doing some domestic filing - where does it all come from? - the weather doesn’t really matter. Am still recovering from my little holiday and relishing some very good memories.
Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire. Sadly we have rain in the forecast - again.
Our choir is singing twice today - once for our friend's MNDA charity and also for our village Summer Party.
We are also picking up our new car - scary prospect.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve also got some blue sky and sunshine, so good to see the sun at last
I’m hoping to get some gardening done and then will call in at DD2s - we’re keeping everything crossed as it looks like she’s got an offer on her house for sale. I’ll be doing the same as you baubles and bringing lots of bags for sorting!
I also enjoyed the Antiques Roadshow filming a couple of years ago Pittcity it was so enjoyable and really interesting
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Pressed post too soon.
Today we'll pop into the Park next to our estate to watch the gun salute for the King's birthday. We also need to go to the supermarket as DS is home for the weekend.
Love to all 🦩 x
Good morning from cloudy Colchester. Another day of sunshine and showers.
My feet and legs are aching after yesterday at the Antiques Roadshow. There were a couple of heavy downpours but they pressed on regardless. Fiona Bruce is brilliant at keeping everyone entertained as it takes ages to film each little segment and the crowd needs to stay put for continuity.
Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; showers forecast at some time during the day.
I managed ok at my dance classes yesterday morning, sitting out when I'd had enough in each class or when my leg felt tight. I did about three quarters of each class. It was good to be back, but I have a lot of catching up to do, especially in tap.
After lunch I hopped on the bus to the shops and did my top-up shop, escaping the showers.
Am off to Milton Keynes today, mainly to visit M&S, as I have vouchers to spend, one of which needs to be used by the end of the month. Don't really know what I want, will just see what takes my fancy. Will have a mooch around other favourite shops, John Lewis, Next and FatFace, and probably have lunch out.
Hope Saturday turns out well for all.
Morning Mick, morning All from a damp corner of Somerset. Drizzly, nasty stuff out there.
Enjoyed both volunteering and TaiChi yesterday. Mr C was surprised and pleased at the delivery of fathers day gifts. As one is edible and far too much for one person I’m pleased too.
Giving a friend a lift to a long distance bus this morning then settling to watch Trooping the Colour. A wander out after a simple lunch.
Hope Saturday is kind to us all.
Good morning all from the Black country, blue skies at the moment but I dont expect them to last.
I shall also watch trooping the colour then take myself into town.
We are over to our friends in Redditch this evening.
Will come back later to catch up with everybody's happenings, enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.
Good morning from Cornwall where there's a lovely breeze but sadly for me wall-to-wall sunshine is forecast later. At least I have my neck fan, which for a winter-lover like me is the best invention ever. 😊
Will finish sewing my reconstructed hoodie-shirt. A friend popped in and modelled it for me yesterday so that I could shape the hood. It'll be perfect for the warmer days.
I'm not a royalist but I can't resist horses and will take a look at them during today's pageantry. Living in town I don't get a lot of horses passing by my window. 😁
Good morning from a bright and sunny but chilly Sarthe with wind expected from mid morning. Never before have I worn Winter clothes here in June!
Yesterday, DH drove us to the local branch of Intermarché which has recently undergone a major refurbishment and is really smart with an impressive range of goods. I found a beautiful dress which DH insisted on buying. It won’t be worn any time soon by the look of the forecast!
This weekend sees the 24 Hour Race for which Le Mans is famous. Our days of being there are gone but DH has clocked up 22 attendances over the years, starting in 1997, when he would travel over from Kent with his late wife. It must be chilly this time for the many who camp there!
Whatever you’re doing, have a good weekend! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
It’s just started to drizzle…
Good morning from Malta where we have another hot (32°C) sunny day.
Yesterday was quite a busy one for me, sat with the boys for a couple of hours while DD3 ran errands, then went to clean my car (again!) before driving to the DIY store and gathering together all the things I need for my two projects! Everything is so expensive now. It used to be relatively cheap to put a ‘lick of paint’ on the walls but not so any more.
Had my hair appointment after which DD3 took me shopping as I was hoping to buy a couple of dresses suitable for Church but I found nothing. DD3 found two lovely evening dresses and I bought a couple of tops so it wasn’t a total waste of time.
Today I must do some cleaning and laundry.
Thank you so much karmalady for mentioning Trooping the Colour as I hadn’t realised it was today. I love watching it so will have to get my chores done first so I can relax and enjoy it!
Babysitting this evening as DD3 and SiL are invited to a wedding, another one next Saturday as well.
Hoping you all have the best day you can.☀️
Good morning from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.
I came back from DS’s with bag upon bag of clothes and toys to sort into donate, rag, or bin piles. I’m happy to do it as it clears some space in their house and they’re very time poor.
Nothing else planned today so I’ll see where the day goes.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning, it’s bright but cloudy here after yesterday’s downpours.
Well, the summerhouse construction is well underway, it’s looking good!
I’m looking forward to watching the Trooping of the Colour too karmalady I need a quiet day doing little so a good reason to sit and knit 😊, I’ve completely overdone it this week 🙄
Have a lovely day 🌹
Good morning from Bristol; the sky has a fine layer of cloud. It will be slightly warmer today, and the wind will be stronger as the day goes on. I’m so very tired of this wintery weather.
My Spanish class went well, I had the usual half hour walk to get there, dodging the occasional light shower. It did rain very heavily in the early evening, no a breath of wind, so it fell vertically.
We had more power cuts in the afternoon; I kept having to reset a fuse while my upstairs neighbour had no power at all. Very odd!
Nothing planned today apart from the church coffee and chat. I’ll probably batch cook an aubergine and chicken curry; put my towels on the line…
I hope you all have a great weekend, with better, warmer weather. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from cool s somerset. Some rain later
I am in process of dell battery conditioning. charge 100%, run down and charge again 100%. In run down mode right now and I won`t be using the laptop for the last charge up. I was satisfied that everything went ok and I only lost one tiny screw
Today I am settling to watch trooping the colour, I always enjoy watching that spectacular event
Have a good day
We’ve got similar weather Mick so I’m about to trot for my newspaper 📰 after enjoying the chamberpot ☕️
Will pop in later to read everyone’s weekend doings - I’ve nothing planned for once so finishing my book is a cert!
