Good Morning Monday 17th June 2024

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and dry. Very cloudy though. Oops I'm so glad your daughter is doing better now. How scary for everyone. Glammagran it's very hard work with grumpy toddlers, I sympathise.
Yesterday was a quiet day. I did a food shop, tidied up a bit, made lentil soup and visited mum in the afternoon. She wasn't good. I took bedding to dd which is dried in the tumble dryer. Both boys were eating cake which dd had made for father's day. Dgs1 had his finger jammed in a door by dgs2 -accidently- and it looks very sore indeed.
Today I'm girding my loins as I have both boys overnight. Dd and Dsil are going to a concert. Both boys are excited because I don't have them overnight often. Grandma is a bit apprehensive but I'm sure I'll cope. So today is pick up, then nursery drop off and playgroup drop off then later do it in reverse. Have a good day all

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, with a lovely day forecast. Shall put some washing in when I get back from yoga - my knee now seems to be fine so I shall give the class a go today.

Took it easy yesterday morning, read the paper, did the crosswords and other puzzles. The afternoon was spent in the garden, trimming the lawn edges, but I only managed to do a.third, as I have such a huge lawn as the edges were very overgrown. The cats came outside with me and enjoyed the sunshine; then I got my book and a drink and enjoyed a bit of sun myself!

Glad that MissOops is feeling better.

Shall probably do the same this afternoon, and hope that we can all find a sunny spot today.

I am so glad that young oops is on the road to being better, heart was in my mouth when I started to read your post. My 7 year old great niece was similar, ill for days then hospital and pretty ill for a while more, looked so weak and poorly while hooked up to a drip. She had cryptosporidium

I am very much looking forward to being outside today, cycling past the orchards and getting the feeling of being back in time. There has been too much of being indoors this summer

Good morning from a sunny South Downs where the temperature will be hopefully higher than the last few days.

Father’s Day yesterday, and DD popped in to see Dad. Nice long chat. DS somewhere in the Adriatic, so no visit from him this year.

Housework today - so not much else planned. I fed the dahlias yesterday and their flowers are beginning to open. I also sowed digitalis and myosotis for next spring. The forget me nots are for Duncan’s garden. It has a blue and yellow spring theme as he died in April. Thomas - our little Westie died in a February so his patch of the garden is white and pinky colours - snowdrops , cyclamen Coum and crocus.

I’m sorry Miss Oops has been so unwell and wish her a speedy recovery. After reading about how many supermarkets have recalled sandwiches, wraps and salads I’m put off eating any now.

We were able to sit outside in the sun at DD2’s yesterday. The other GP’s were there too and we all had tea and cake for Father’s Day.

Today will be school pickup and early dinner for DGD3 and tomorrow is the turn of DGS2. It was really hard keeping him awake which made him grumpy during Thursday afternoon as we’ve been told no naps are allowed anymore as he wasn’t settling down till 10pm. His sister sleeps soundly and always has done.

Enjoy what looks to be a rather better day weather wise. The rain was insane on Friday here.

I’m so glad MissOops is feeling better, Oops. Obviously, the fluid input, plus salts seem to have done the trick. 👏.

Good morning from a brighter looking day in La Sarthe. At last!

Recently, back in Torquay, I had lost some weight but, in just a week of being here, those few pounds have crept back. I attribute this to me being more relaxed, away from my home responsibilities and sleeping well.

Welcome back to Taichinan and to those who like to visit this thread although don't post. It's surprising and good to discover how many are regular readers.

What a good thing MissOops went to hospital, *Oopsadaisy1! I’m so glad to read of her recovery and hope she continues to be well.

Good Morning Michael and all who follow, it’s sunny and calm here in Oxfordshire and the heating hasn’t come on so it must be warmer.

MissOops took a turn for the worse yesterday morning and was ambulanced to the hospital, within half an hour she had had bloods taken, ECG, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and was on a fast drip, she had a Covid test and a jab against DVT, after the first bag of fluid, she stopped being sick.
The second bag of fluids had Potassium and Sodium in it, after 30 minutes of this she got the feeling back in her arms and was sitting up in bed having a sandwich and a cup of tea! After some more fluids she was so much better and was discharged with some meds at 7pm. No complaints here about the NHS, they were brilliant.

Let’s hope she will still be ok when she wakes up this morning.

I’m off to pick up my car which broke down a couple of days ago when I popped out for some bread, lets hope it’s still in the Supermarket car park, I had to go in and tell them it would be there until yesterday, but I wasn’t able to get back, our friend fixed it whilst I was at the hospital but went off with the keys….

There were a lot more people than usual having coffee after the service yesterday, I spoke to several people I hadn’t before. I was also given a load of jars for marmalade. A lot went yesterday: I shall have to make more.

In the afternoon, I sat reading in the sun, when a neighbour came to join me for a chat. Then a bit later, another came over to give me some of her apple and blackberry pie. She hasn’t felt well since early this year, so it’s a great improvement. I had it for pudding.

Today, I have the toddler group. I found a load of postcards for recycling in the church and shall offer them to the children for cutting up and glueing.
