Appalling! what was he thinking of, surely there could have been a more humane way of treating the poor distressed creature, it's not as if it would have charged at anyone and attacked them in XL Bully mode there must have been other options calling out the RSPCA or a local farmer.

Im not a big animal rights activist but I was shocked by the film. Granted that cows are large animals and can be dangerous when spooked but surely they could have found another way to hem it in and stop it.

Yes, it was horrible. Gung ho police officers at their worse! Like you, I don't believe that vets were nowhere to be found at the time.
