Good Morning Everyone,
Another dry but cloudy start here in brackley this morning.
The regular routine of getting the bus to Bicester and hopefully meet up with friends and have a chat plus do some supermarket shopping as well.
Returning to watch some cycling on TV this afternoon.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from a warm mid Essex, hazy sunshine now, very pleasant. I’m shattered as I had to get up early because the painter came to start decorating two bedrooms, followed closely by the carpet fitter with lots of samples for me to choose from. I missed my morning walk in the local recreation ground so didn’t see any of my dog walking friends. I don’t have a dog now, but enjoy meeting up with the dogs and owners. Thoughts to those who have health (& other) worries at the moment.

Good morning from coastal West Sussex. It is cloudy but warm here today. I am sipping coffee and recovering from the re-survey for a heat pump, as we asked if the water tank could go in the garage rather than our very useful walk in cupboard upstairs. A different person from last time and she remeasured outside where the pump would go which has made us reconsider the practicality of putting a pump in our very small back garden. Too many decisions - my head hurts 😱

I was very embarrassed by the amount of clutter everywhere in house and garden so have resolved yet again

Well done, Purplepixie, - it’s the hardest thing to motivate yourself (myself!) when you are down. Hope you enjoy the Knit & Natter.

Allotment and gardening today while it’s not too hot.

Hope MissOops and Gingster’sDD and DGD feel better soon. Happy Anniversary to your DD, GrannyIvy. Good to hear of (gradual) return to health with long covid.
Marydoll, hope you feel better as the day goes on, and maybe enjoy a siesta to catch up on sleep.

Thinking of the many others, not named, with challenges. Hope there is some sunshine in everyone’s day 🌤️

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Lancashire.

I’m feeling sorry for myself, it’s freezing cold, it hurts to eat and move my head and there are things I need to be getting on with but can’t. It will pass, I just get fed up with waiting.

Anyway, here is a photo of Loch Awe that I took 10 years ago from Kilmun Farm (not near the village of the same name on Holy Loch).

Have the best day you can 🌷

Dull and grey with thunder storms forecast from 11am here in Co Durham.
Just home from hairdressers, I’ve had a cut and trim. It’s sure to rain at school picking up time.
Thought with all poorlies and those caring for them. Also thinking of our missing friends. Come back soon.

Purplepixie Tue 18-Jun-24 10:59:53

Good morning from a sunny and lovely East Midlands. Thank you to everyone yesterday for the warm kind words. Big pants on today and already been for along walk and plan to join a knit and natter group today for the first time. Finished another dog blanket for Battersea last night and just have to sew it up and send it. Life is getting back on tracks after falling off the rails a bit lately.

Good Morning from an overcast Co Armagh
I had the patio door open to the garden yesterday , I usually have it open permanently at this time of year , to keep out birds and flies I put up a walk through net curtain set , but I haven’t got round to it this year , so last night a wee fly was driving me to despair !
Why did it want to sit on my arm , my knee but worst of all in my hair ! I couldn’t manage to get rid of it , any tips ?
Have as good a day as possible x

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Ibiza. We leave today so our last (good) breakfast. I had a day off as it were yesterday, after spraining my back, I just rested whilst others went to the beach etc. Enjoyed the evening meal and a stroll along the front, so pretty and an ideal temperature.

We have a civilised flight timing wise so hope that works out.
DD has an ear infection which needs attention when we return.
Thoughts to all poorlies 🌺

Bonnybanko Tue 18-Jun-24 08:51:39

Good morning everyone, I’ve slept in today I’ve a funny tummy too.
The suns shining magnificently this morning on the east coast of Fife.
I’ll just lie low today as my twin sister is going out for lunch and I’ll have the house all to myself so I’ll just keep watching the new Bridgerton I love it.

Have a good day my friends, however get the sun cream on. Keep safe.

harrigran Tue 18-Jun-24 08:31:11

Good morning from a dry NE for the present, forecast is for a pavement cracking 13 degrees 🙄

Yesterday was laundry day, four loads washed, dried and ironed. Today will be a quiet day with my book.
Thoughts are with AC who are unwell.
Have the best day you can.

BlueSapphire Tue 18-Jun-24 08:24:38

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, a lovely day forecast.

Yoga went well yesterday apart from the usual problems of getting up and down from my mat, which is due to my arthritic knee. The injured knee was fine.
Sat outside for coffee when I got back and read the newspaper.

After lunch continued with the lawn edging, had to stop before I'd finished it all due to back ache, so may well tackle the last bit today.

Will get the kitchen floor washed this morning, coffee outside again, then after lunch join my walking group. Then call in at the paper shop on the way home to pay my bill. And then hopefully sit in the garden and finish my book.

Sorry to read of so many poorly folks this morning; wishing all may see better health soon.

Happy sunshiny day, everyone!

GrannySomerset Tue 18-Jun-24 08:12:26

Cloudless sky this morning so it augurs well for my friend’s coffee morning for the local hospice at which I am helping. With this and selling her cards she raises well over £1000 each year and has done for the last decade. I am full of admiration.

Thinking of Oops and Gingster and their DDs and hoping that today sees some improvement for them. So awful seeing one’s child unwell whatever their age.

Marydoll Tue 18-Jun-24 08:10:46

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 12°C, with showers forecast.

A disturbed night means I'm late to the party. Dreaming that I Alzheimers 😱 and pain have left me very discombobulated.
I was supposed to go to a school event today, but I shall need to play it by ear.

My best best wishes for all the poorly adult children and those, who care for them

Have a good day folks.

monk08 Tue 18-Jun-24 08:09:09

Good morning all from a sunny Black country, more washing in the machine making the most of the sun.
Today I need to contact the eye hospital regarding my referral, I received a letter stating if nothing heard by today to get it touch.
Thoughts with missing posters, virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Gingster Tue 18-Jun-24 08:07:44

Good morning all and it’s dull here in Essex. Yesterday was very warm and we got quite a bit of gardening done. I bought bark and it was such a huge bag , we couldn’t lift it between us. No1 son came and threw it on his shoulder as if it was a feather. . We only have a tiny garden, why have I bought this amount????.

Today I’ll buy a few little treats for gd1 and send them off to her. Hopefully make her feel a little better. ❤️.
Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts for her and Dd.

Poor Oops you have a lot to deal with at the moment. Life can be hard at times, but as you say , you’ll get through it ! Hopefully things will start to improve soon. 💐.

Bridge club this afternoon and maybe this evening, if my brain is still working. 😉.

Sheep in the gardens 😳 Pants , that’s different!
Roseandlilac , 🏡. You’ll soon be enjoying the summerhouse.
Not long to go now Mizuna.👍.

Take care all and I hope the day goes well . 🌸

GrannyIvy Tue 18-Jun-24 07:54:43

Good morning from a bright sunny Cambridgeshire. Today I have my haircut and colour, do I go shorter for the summer or just a tidy up keeping it longer I am sure my hairdresser will advise he normally takes control. Will call at the big M & S for a browse and lunch after and then home to my garden so much to do out there.

It is my daughter’s 19th wedding anniversary today where have those years gone. Her life has been challenged by long covid but she is getting her health back slowly. So sad to hear on other posts so many of our AC are struggling and send my best wishes to all.

Summer seems to have arrived here at last. Have a good day everyone 💐

Liberty Tue 18-Jun-24 07:54:10

Good morning from another sunny Suffolk after a glorious day yesterday.

The beach cafe was very busy yesterday with people mainly our age. I think this time of year this coastal strip is a very popular holiday spot with people who want to avoid the school holidays when it feels overrun with young families.

There is a large pile of ironing facing me in one of the spare bedrooms which I feel I should tackle today but we’ll see!

Hope today is a sunny one for all.

Sar53 Tue 18-Jun-24 07:53:50

Good morning from the Essex coast. It's dry but cloudy.
DH had his diabetic eye check yesterday but was told he needs to see an optician as his eyes have deteriorated quite a lot. Appointment on Thursday.
He also received news that he is to have his leg operation next Wednesday. Great news as he will be able to walk so much better.
Ironing, admin and housework today.
Sending healing vibes to the poorly.
Have a great Tuesday and may the sun shine for you xx

Taichinan Tue 18-Jun-24 07:51:30

Good morning Mick and all. A chilly grey 12° rising to a heady 13° on the Angus coast. But never mind - 16° is forecast for tomorrow and things are looking up.
What a very difficult time you and your family are having just now Oops. I'm so sorry and hope poor Miss Oops improves soon.
Today it's back to a normal tai chi class, then shopping and probably an afternoon 💤 as I didn't sleep so well last night.
Enjoy all your warmth and sunshine, all you 'doon soothers' - Roses I'm loving the sound of your summerhouse!

Jaxjacky Tue 18-Jun-24 07:36:45

Morning from high cloud in S Hants, yesterday the voluntary phone was quiet, only four calls, last week was many more. Quiz last night, we were dreadful!
Today, a GP call at 8:30, ear clear out this afternoon, apparently I’m a ‘super producer’ of wax, not the most useful skill.
Oops I hope MissO continues to improve and Gingster your daughter too.
🦩🦩

luluaugust Tue 18-Jun-24 07:20:37

Good morning from an overcast W Kent, hope it cheers up although we aren’t going anywhere. DH coughed the night away with me joining in
Oops flowers
Roses I hope you feel better today
Enjoy your days in and out

GrannyGravy13 Tue 18-Jun-24 07:18:57

Morning all from an overcast S E Essex 13° expected to reach 21°

I have a manicure this morning, the 9yr olds Sports Day from 12 noon, and an eagerly awaited phone chat with my dearest Aussie contingent who is here to see her horses run at Ascot, and I am so looking forward to catching up with her over the next two weeks, hopefully several times.

Sending (((hugs))) to the poorly AC, no matter how old they get they will always be our babies.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

NumNum Tue 18-Jun-24 07:16:59

Bonjour everybody,
After watching the Euros last night, went to bed only to be woken a couple of hours later by a huge thunderstorm. They tend to 'swirl' where we are so it went on and on until about 5am and was so loud that I couldn't sleep. Needless to say I don't think I'll be doing much to day - maybe even a siesta this afternoon!
Wishing all of you a good day wherever you are

Pittcity Tue 18-Jun-24 07:12:46

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It's warm already but there are a few dark clouds forecast for later. My brolly's in my bag.
A day volunteering at the charity shop as usual.
Love to all 🦩 x

brook2704 Tue 18-Jun-24 07:08:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s still grey and cloudy here but hoping the warmer weather is soon on its way
Good to hear the second summerhouse is progressing well roses
I’ve a check up at the eye clinic first thing, then a quick food shop then home to potter in the garden. The workmen cleaning the roof will be back today as yesterday they gave up mid afternoon due to the wet weather
Oops hoping things improve a bit soon, take care
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Georgesgran Tue 18-Jun-24 07:04:22

Good morning from Durham, dry at present, but will it last? I drove home in torrential rain last night and was soaked just running from the car to the house. It was so bad, I didn’t put the bin out, so I’ll pop down the drive with it soon. DD2 presented me with bags and bags of holiday laundry, as a reward for looking after Little Dog!
Coffee this morning with a friend, although it often runs into lunch too, then back to the laundry mountain.
Poor MissOops and Gingster’s DD, I hope there’s some improvement soon - it’s a strain on the entire family when illness strikes.

Thinking of our absent posters.
Best wishes to all. X
