Good Morning Thursday 20th June 2024
(47 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A cloudy but dry sunny start here in brackley at the moment.
Today my usual routine of bus journeys to Bicester ,and hoping to see some i have not seen for a couple of days .
Then return home for a afternoon of cycling on TV.
Take Care,
Mick
Nice to hear from you Larra
Lovely to meet you yesterday larra and so pleased you’ve found the Good Morning thread too
Glad you enjoyed yourself, larra.
Looking forward to seeing you again.
Good morning from a cloudy Glasgow, hoping sun comes out later. Had a great day yesterday with the glesca grans, it was my first time meeting up and was made very welcome. Such a lovely bunch of ladies. Counting the days till the next time. Today is boring housework then into garden for a tidy up, some lunch then a nice walk. Hope everyone has a lovely day.
A late good morning from me, up early enough but several family phone calls have kept me back and a routine one from the dentist checking I will be keeping tomorrow’s appointment, it was as well they checked, they had the time wrong!!
Yesterday’s Glesca Grannies meet up was really nice, we just slip into easy conversations, it’s lovely, and as others have said, good to meet Larra.
An easy day today thank goodness, quite a lot to do but all straightforward.
Beat wishes tone everyone for a decent day.
Look after yourself Blossoming you’ll be missed.
Morning all from a sunny West Oxfordshire.
I overslept so am only now having my breakfast!
A mainly admin day today. It was the WI meeting last night and three new ladies joined. So, I have to update all our records and put them on the national data base.
OH is going on a U3A Science group meeting.
Have a good day everyone!
Good morning Mick and all from a bright northwest coast. I have the house to myself now as family have left after our annual summer holiday. Suitcase half unpacked and my side is still sore after straining it when I foolishly clambered awkwardly into a taxi in Spain.
Long chat yesterday with friend of my friend and colleague who died last week re meeting up at the funeral.
On a cheerier note, my DD is off to Ascot and I’m looking forward to seeing her photos.
Confirmation letter but no date re my hernia op’, I’m certainly not looking forward to that or my appointment tomorrow at the dentist when I’m due to have an extraction. Apparently I have an abscess, but I have had no pain or aching for nearly two weeks so not sure what is going on…
All the best Blossoming and thoughts to all with worries 🌺
All the best Blossoming.
Good morning from Durham - another warm day on the cards, streaks of blue sky, but still mostly cloudy.
Little Dog seems under the weather, so I hand fed him. He had a tick bite near his lip a few days ago - maybe a bit sore.
Coffee with a friend this morning, after M&S to get flowers for her weekend birthday.
I must crack on in the garden, which could involve a quick visit to my local garden centre later - but no time to wander - it’ll be straight there and back.
Little Dog will be walked this evening.
Sounds like the Glasgow Grans had fun yesterday.
I see we have a few Grans taking time off - return soon.
Best wishes to all. X
I am sorry to hear that, * Blossoming*. Take care.x

Good morning Mick and everyone.
I am taking a break from GN, I wish you all the very best.
Keep well, keep in touch or as we say in Scotland “Haste ye back” 💐💐
Photos even!
Taichinan phots are on the meet up thread.
Good morning all from dry and warm South Lanarkshire.
After a very enjoyable day with the Glescae Grans I got home to find DH laid low with hay fever, poor soul. He is always badly affected but hasn’t found an antihistamine he can tolerate so is floored by it every year.
No plans today really, I may do a little light weeding then probably carry on with my crochet.
DD has asked if we can childmind this evening so I’ll look forward to getting some chat from the grandchildren.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Yesterday went to plan with an added bonus. DF mentioned it was her lovely later DH’s birthday so I suggested a drink and a rummage in the freezer produced scampi as a light supper and a long and wide ranging conversation. Sometimes the ad hoc is really worthwhile.
Today is an empty but I have some dingy brassware which could do with attention, and some admin which needs tackling, so the day will unwind. Glad to hear that the Glasgow meet up was fun and hope those involved are all talked out.
Oh what a beautiful morning 🎶☀️🎶 on the Angus coast! Good morning Mick and everyone. What a difference a sunny morning makes, doesn't it. Long may it last.
It's tai chi this morning for me, which I hope will go as well as Tuesday's class did, then a stop by the fish shop and a quick dive into Tesco's for bread, after which I'm free to lie back in the sun lounger and just enjoy.
Yesterday's meet up with DGD3 and boyfriend was perfect too - such a lovely young couple (🤞) - and we sat at an outside table in the sun and chattered for ages. I feel so lucky and definitely privileged to spend time like that with them.
Glad the Glesga grannies' meet up went well yesterday. There was mention of photos - where can I find them?
Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy this long-awaited sun x
Good morning Mick and everyone.
I am taking a break from GN, I wish you all the very best.
Forget me knot seeds, auto correct again……..
Good morning from a Glorious morning in Oxfordshire.
I’ve just grabbed the dog from the garden where she was barking at the local dogs and my pyjama legs are covered in forget me know seeds, my fault for not getting around to pulling them up.
It’s like Groundhog Day here……….
Hopefully things will improve soon.
Hope everyone has a good day, hugs for those caring for unwell loved ones or are stressed.
Good morning from the third sunny start to the day in Suffolk. I could get used to this!
I have my usual stretch class and then coffee with a friend afterwards before coming home to a peaceful afternoon in the garden, reading not gardening,I hasten to say.
DGD2 phoned yesterday late morning having just finished her last GCSE…further maths. She was demob happy and looking forward to an exciting summer of a festival in Cornwall,a wonderful sounding school hockey, rugby and netball trip to South Africa and then a family holiday.oh to be 16 again but sadly it is a much less safe and more worrying world than it was 60+ years ago.
Hope today is a pleasant one for all.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and cloudy. I'm hopeful for sunshine though.
Yesterday was a lovely day. I met up with some of the Glasgow Grans for lunch and chat. It was nice to meet Larra too. Glasgow was sunny and warm and there was a real buzz. On the train home, I sat with two ladies who were very chatty too. We had a great blether and I was sorry they got off before me. Dgs1 had his nursery sports day and won a medal. All the children did😂.
Today I'm doing little except pottering in the garden. I will have to go out for an anniversary card for dd and Dsil. The one I had bought said to my son. Eyesight is terrible!😂 I'll deliver it with some wine later on, after her work. Have a good day all.
Good morning all from Severnside. Looking like we have a nice day ahead.
Yesterday after the talk I went to I watched as recommended on here Phantom of the Open. I enjoyed it and told my brother and Sil about. They play a lot of golf and we all went furniture shopping one day in Grand Rapids. I’ve woken to a message this morning to say they enjoyed it.
With the expected warm weather I might go and get my hair cut this morning and then do the grocery shop.
Have a good day everyone 🌺🌞👒
Good morning from Malta where it’s very hot with a UV index of 11.
I’m glad to hear the sun has reached you in the UK at last.
I’m with the boys as usual, they are very good at playing and love to be read to so the day passes quickly. They also still take a decent nap before lunch.
This evening I have an appointment with the Notary to do a Power of Attorney in case I become incapacitated in any way. Hope it won’t be needed but want to spare my children any difficulties should the situation arise.
Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts for those with troubles.☀️
