Good morning from an overcast Sarthe.

We have an early start today to help take the Australian visitors from our friend's house to the station.

Have a good day, everyone! Looked like the glamorous Glasgow Grans had lots of fun yesterday! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Bristol. It looks like the summer solstice will be glorious!

I had a busy day yesterday, managing to wash, dry and put away my laundry, wash/vacuum my floors, make soup for lunch and spag bol for dinner.

I also went to church for morning prayers which I had to take as no one else was there. In the afternoon, there was a cream tea for the ladies’ guild. We had dire “entertainment”, ghastly singalong reminding meow hideous afternoons singing Vera Lynne etc.,min a nursing home…🤢

grandMattie Thu 20-Jun-24 05:57:14

Posted too soon.

The rest of the afternoon was spent repotting two little African violets I gave myself, chatting to others in the sunshine, and dozing in front of the television.

I’m glad the Glasgae grans had a good time. I would enjoy meeting the local grans somewhere accessible by public transport.

Thoughts winging to those is sorrow or distress. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a glorious sunny South Downs.

It looks as if we are in for a period of fine weather - must absolutely make the most of it and be outdoors as much as possible.

Yesterday we walked along the sea front in Hove and had a rather nice lunch of various fishy tapas.

Today I will pot up a couple of plants and generally fiddle about in the garden before settling under the umbrella with a book.

Enjoy your day

Peace and harmony to all

Morning from bright sun and blue sky in S Hants, dropping off birthday present today for my sons partner, I’ll call in the butcher whilst I’m out.
Watering later tonight, enjoying the longest day.

Good morning, it’s cloudy here in south Glos, hopefully another lovely day ahead.
A pottering day yesterday, I started crocheting another throw, a change from knitting, did a bit in the garden, sat in the sun and read and walked the dog.
Today I have art group this afternoon which will be lovely.
More work on the summerhouse this afternoon, the carpenter is fitting me in between his other jobs, he’s a very talented and in high demand so I am very fortunate that he’s able to do this.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we are promised a dry day. Writers group yesterday was very enjoyable. We had two new members so it changed the vibe a bit, which was good. I’m not very good at writing “off the cuff” - I like to shape and reshape a piece - but it’s very good for the mental accuity.
Walking this morning and then lunch with DD as usual. Before I come home I will call and have a look at a local garden nearby that should be looking it’s best at the moment.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

I have a pedicure first thing and then I really must iron.

DH's brother, who is staying with his daughter was taken to hospital last night. We await developments - looks like a kidney problem.

Have the best day possible.

GrannyIvy Thu 20-Jun-24 06:49:23

Good morning from sunny Cambridgeshire. Yesterday was a busy day, I took DH into Cambridge for an all day meeting, then collected DD2 and we did a garden centre and lunch in the local pub I then did another local nursery to buy more compost and home to do my hanging baskets. I have had a busy two days outside and the garden is looking good. I then collected a very happy DH from Cambridge in the evening.

Today I have usual Pilates class, more tidying in the garden and a neighbours meet up as some neighbours that moved to Devon last year are calling by at 6 pm for a quick drink as they are in the area briefly.

Hope everyone enjoys the lovely weather our BBQ has been uncovered and ready for action. Wishing a good day to all 💐

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. A better night and we both hope we are improving. I intend to get out in the garden once the gardener has finished.
Supermarket delivery yesterday included a tin of new potatoes instead of a bag of new ones, is there a potato shortage? Wondering what I can do with them that different.
Enjoy the sun

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, a lovely day ahead forecast.

Yesterday morning I hoovered all the furniture in the sitting room, which was quite tiring, had to have a coffee break halfway through!
I cut the back grass in the afternoon and got rid of more of the pesky briars that seem to spring up everywhere, likewise annoying ash saplings - we used to have a big ash tree in the garden.
Then took my book outside and enjoyed a drink and a read in the sunshine.

Today I have the towels in the washing machine, and I plan on giving the kitchen cupboards a good wipe down.
Then a Sainsbury's delivery late morning.
After lunch shall head to the community centre for a talk on 'Living with Arthritis'; my fingers are quite swollen and becoming quite painful, likewise my knee, so some info and advice would be good. Then back home to sit in the garden again.

May we all enjoy a lovely sunny 🌞🌞 day!

Morning Mick, morning All. A bright sky over our corner of Somerset. Should be a warm one

Chores completed yesterday we’re off to the tip this morning and then heading for the sea front. Medicinal we’ve decided, it should help my tedious hayfever symptoms. Minor in the scheme of things I know but oh so irritating. The only anti histamine that works knocks me out so it’s a rare occurrence although Mr C is grateful for the silence.

Heard yesterday our daughter in laws Mum is in hospital after emergency admission. Much worry over an infection. Our granddaughters Mum called to see us yesterday evening. Her Mum has advanced and speedily advancing vascular dementia, can’t be alone now. Mr C and I decided we’re very grateful to be as OK as we are at the moment.

Have the best day you can. Thinking of those unwell or caring for loved ones. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where the sun is shining
I had a very enjoyable time yesterday meeting up with the Glesca Grans, a really lovely group of ladies. Today I’m doing a volunteering session and then helping drop off and pick up the DGC at their after school activities.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.

I am one very tired gran after yesterday's meet up, but what a spirit lifting day I had. You could not meet a nicer group of ladies. I am so glad I made the effort.
It was so nice to meet Larra for the first time. I then met DD after work and we decanted to the pub for a catch up. She only lives ten minutes away, but leaves for work early and is back late, so we don't have much time together.. She spent the whole time asking if I was OK, because I can never a whole day out.

I was clever and had many rests, including a cuppa and a huge French fancy, iced in the Scotland colours, meaning I could only do a little shopping.
Pretending to be a tourist, ( there were lots of them in Glasgow) and sat and watched the world go by.
However, much to my disappointment, I couldn't find the new Uniqlo store, it was probably for the best! 😉

Today we have Babydoll ( heaven knows where I will find the stamina) and we are planning a short run down the coast. I will try and persuade DH to take me to the garden centre there.
Thankfully, I had the sense to prepare her breakfast (blueberry and banana pancakes) last night. I don't think I could have manage to make them this morning!

Just had a call from DIL, Dollie is ill. We have cancelled our seaside plans. Poor, wee Dollie.

I wish you all a pleasant day and best wishes for all our grans, who are struggling.

Sar53 Thu 20-Jun-24 07:27:54

Good morning from a sunny 🌞 Essex coast.
We are up early today for some reason.
DD1 has a birthday today, it's a shame I can't see her but my spirit is there.
Shopping this morning, doctors this afternoon then we will be watching the football.
Have a lovely day everyone and may the sun shine wherever you are xx

GrannyGravy13 Thu 20-Jun-24 07:29:28

Morning all from a sunny S E Essex

Off to GD’s sports day this afternoon, other than that nothing planned.

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

Grandmachrisy47 Thu 20-Jun-24 07:30:24

Lovely bright day here. Going with a friend to a retail park. There is a direct bus but it is under threat of withdrawal. That will be the second service we’ve lost from our small town.
I’m in need of some dark trousers for a funeral on Monday as I managed to drip bleach on my only decent pair. Hopefully I should get some other things as well. Failing the usual M&S and Next there is a new, enormous Primark just opened , surely I’ll find something.
I’ll catch up later day with all your news. Hope the sun shines on everyone.

Gingster Thu 20-Jun-24 07:30:30

Good morning and it’s going to be a lovely day ☀️.

Yesterday was busy with dog walking, shopping, coffee-meet-ups and picking up little DGD from school and bringing her back for tea. I’m taking her to school today as Dd has a hospital appointment.

I have bowls group and then on to have coffee/lunch with a friend who can’t get out much as her Dh has advanced Parkinson’s and can’t really be left.

Dh has a few jobs to do in town so will bus up and ‘ run’ back down.

Enjoy the better weather all and take care. 🌸

mumofmadboys Thu 20-Jun-24 07:33:02

We leave the Sillies today after a lovely week. The scenery is really stunning and the weather has been good. We hope to come back.
Good to see photos of the Glasgow grans. Glad you had a great day.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Thursday.

Pittcity Thu 20-Jun-24 07:39:46

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A great day to get the bedding on the line.
Packing for our holiday and then settling down for the football and a takeaway later.
Love to all 🦩 x

Bellasnana Thu 20-Jun-24 07:41:56

Good morning from Malta where it’s very hot with a UV index of 11.

I’m glad to hear the sun has reached you in the UK at last.

I’m with the boys as usual, they are very good at playing and love to be read to so the day passes quickly. They also still take a decent nap before lunch.

This evening I have an appointment with the Notary to do a Power of Attorney in case I become incapacitated in any way. Hope it won’t be needed but want to spare my children any difficulties should the situation arise.

Wishing you all a good day, with special thoughts for those with troubles.☀️

Beechnut Thu 20-Jun-24 07:42:01

Good morning all from Severnside. Looking like we have a nice day ahead.

Yesterday after the talk I went to I watched as recommended on here Phantom of the Open. I enjoyed it and told my brother and Sil about. They play a lot of golf and we all went furniture shopping one day in Grand Rapids. I’ve woken to a message this morning to say they enjoyed it.

With the expected warm weather I might go and get my hair cut this morning and then do the grocery shop.

Have a good day everyone 🌺🌞👒

Grandmabatty Thu 20-Jun-24 07:47:29

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and cloudy. I'm hopeful for sunshine though.
Yesterday was a lovely day. I met up with some of the Glasgow Grans for lunch and chat. It was nice to meet Larra too. Glasgow was sunny and warm and there was a real buzz. On the train home, I sat with two ladies who were very chatty too. We had a great blether and I was sorry they got off before me. Dgs1 had his nursery sports day and won a medal. All the children did😂.
Today I'm doing little except pottering in the garden. I will have to go out for an anniversary card for dd and Dsil. The one I had bought said to my son. Eyesight is terrible!😂 I'll deliver it with some wine later on, after her work. Have a good day all.

Liberty Thu 20-Jun-24 07:49:39

Good morning from the third sunny start to the day in Suffolk. I could get used to this!

I have my usual stretch class and then coffee with a friend afterwards before coming home to a peaceful afternoon in the garden, reading not gardening,I hasten to say.

DGD2 phoned yesterday late morning having just finished her last GCSE…further maths. She was demob happy and looking forward to an exciting summer of a festival in Cornwall,a wonderful sounding school hockey, rugby and netball trip to South Africa and then a family holiday.oh to be 16 again but sadly it is a much less safe and more worrying world than it was 60+ years ago.

Hope today is a pleasant one for all.
