Belated good morning from a cloudy, sunny, wet W Kent. Another day of very little apart from washing and ironing to keep up If the sun comes out properly I will sit in the garden and read later. Kind friend has informed me that we have almost certainly had the new Covid which is highly infectious, I do like to be first with something
The family are off doing the University visits to see where the two Gds might go next year.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Although my back was still in spasm yesterday, I took myself off to the art group and gave some amusement as I yelped with pain on and off throughout the session. Strangely, I thought my painting was better than usual….not overthinking I suppose. Walking about, I looked exactly like Mrs Overall from Acorn Antiques so brilliantly played by Julie Walters…

To add insult to injury, I was due to have a back molar extracted in the afternoon, but as I have had no pain there for nearly two weeks, I was granted a stay of execution. My tortuous entry into the dentist’s room probably aroused some pity. The back is improving today, but has left me feeling washed out. A nice quiet day is in order.

Good morning from Durham where a warm, cloudy day is forecast.
A total change to, or I should say cancellation of plans today as DD1 is on Day2 of a migraine and DGS1 was off school yesterday as he too was unwell.
I’m sure I’ll find something to do, especially in the garden,
Mick is it possible something in you diet triggers your problem - it’s ginger snaps (which I love) that does it for me.
Safe travels to GN’s who are out and about.

Yesterday MrJ dug in a dwarf acer and I put some pinks in a trough, that’s it, no more, except repeat veg sowings.
Today is newspaper, my son and his partner are here this evening, Chinese takeaway and games.

Good morning from an overcast NE but is forecast to reach 20 degrees today.
Had a nice lunch out with my friend and heard about her trip to Paris with her sisters last week.
DS and GD2 will visit this afternoon but will probably go to the coast first and get some exercise.
GD1 has a summer job in a boutique hotel so will be working today.

Lovely June morning and am hoping it will stay fine for the church fete this afternoon when I am on duty doing teas. Lots of work goes into village events like this so I hope it is a success both socially and financially as we have a £50K problem with the church roof and anything we can raise today will help. Am having a leisurely morning in preparation.

I hope the fete goes well. Out neighbouring parish needs at least £200,000 for remedial work on the church roof.

Sar my son and DiL are attending a Malay wedding in Singapore today, and they are wearing traditional dress also.

Good morning from a fresh slightly overcast Cambridgeshire. Our trip to Greenwich to meet friends yesterday was lovely we mooched around and had lunch outside by the Thames and walked miles. Today will be more restful with a trip to look at a new sofa for DD2 and then enjoy the garden this afternoon getting the BBQ out to cook our Saturday steak.

Good morning all from the Black country a few patches of blue sky but it will be cooler than yesterday.
Spoke to a friend yesterday she was ready for theatre on Thursday but operation cancelled they had found underlying heart problems, hopefully they can be sorted soon this is the 2nd time it's been cancelled first time last year due to the strikes.
Friends coming later then over to the club.
Usual Saturday full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.

Belated birthday greetings to Sar.

Yesterday turned out to be unexpectedly stressful. It started off well, with the bed stripped and two loads of washing on the line and a then trip to Asda.
Unfortunately I couldn't get parked at the charity shop (the many disabled bays were being used by non badge users, pet hate of mine. 😡). Therefore, determined to get rid of them, I had to drag them to the shop. I did have the clever idea of using an Asda trolley, but it had an anti theft device and the wheels locked, stopping me from going anywhere. GRRR!
I felt so lightheaded, I had to sit down for a bit.

On Thursday, we had a new mattress delivered and I got home to find the box missing from the garage, where it was waiting until I felt ready to help Mr MD to take the old one off.
You guessed, Mr MD decided to be helpful and do it without my supervision,
Something isn't quite right : he said, can you come and have a look.
I said I didn't feel well and would have a look after lunch and a rest and there was no way, I could have managed to climb the stairs at that point.

When I eventually went up to look, the spare room was blocked by the old Double mattress, but in its place was a SINGLE one on the base of the bed.
For a moment I panicked, thinking that I had made a mistake and ordered the wrong size, but on checking the advice note said double. 😱😤😭

After phoning QVC customer service, the lovely agent said that we should re-package it as best I could and she would organise an uplift and delivery of a new one.
No here is the problem. The mattress was vacuumed packed and takes four hours to get to its intended size. How on earth will we fit this mattress into a box, which is a 1/4 the size of the mattress?
Answers on a post card please.

I am feeling pretty bushed and yukky, after three days of full on bizzyness. Therefore my only tasks today will be to remember to do my injection, update the parish website, send out the bulletin and see Dollie at Vigil Mass* to give her holiday pocket money, before is she off on holiday.

Good morning from another glorious sunny Suffolk. My friend and I spent 4 hours together at the seaside seeking shelter from the sun with a stop for coffee and cake at a cafe on the prom with a covered seating area but open to the sea air and then further down a stop for lunch at another cafe overlooking the sea.

Today and tomorrow is the annual festival of light in Lowestoft which is,of course,the furthest point easterly of the British Isles where the sun rises first. This is a free festival and is greatly enjoyed by the locals,with camping on the beach,music,food stalls etc. it was interesting to watch the setting up activities,flags,fairy lights, food trucks etc and talk to some of the youngsters who were involved.

The weather forecast is excellent so a lovely time should be had by all. Last year’s festival,according to the local paper was trouble free so I hope it is the same this year. We shan’t be going…too busy and noisy for us. Our festival going days are over but we reminisce about the Windsor and Blackbush festivals and I bore DH with my stories of the festival in Hyde Park in 1969 when Mick Jagger wore a dress! Happy youthful carefree days.

Apart from going to the local hospital to collect a friend who is spending the day there with her DH and struggling to absorb the news about his illness, I shall be enjoying the sun at home. Hope today is a good one for all.

Yesterday dd and dgs2 popped in after playgroup. He had a mountain of art work achieved- taking after his grandma. 😂 I had soup waiting for him which he devoured as if he hadn't seen food. In the afternoon, I visited a care home for mum. It was ok but very expensive (in my mind) and I'm not sure would be right for her. I see another one next week.
Today I'll go to Aldi, change the sheets and get them hung out and do a spot of gardening. I'll visit mum this afternoon. I'm not sure what I'll have for dinner yet. Possibly something with salad. Have a good day all.

Good morning all from under thick cloud on the Angus coast. The sun is trying hard to break through, I know it is..
The crow has been back at the bird table and has managed to defeat my anti-crow ingenuity and once again the peanut feeder has been unhooked and been used as a football around the patio. Such jolly fun for him! I wouldn't mind if he just ate the nuts .....
I see the woodpecker has popped by just now and is working away at the nuts he has left, my favourite visitor.
Anyway, I'm of for a session of tai chi on the beach again shortly so I'm hoping the sun will have won its battle with the cloud by 10am 🤞

You must be looking forward to your visit to the Dales Grandmattie and I'll keep my fingers crossed for good weather for you. This is such a beautiful island to explore - it's just our unpredictable weather that lets us down.

We enjoyed a relaxed afternoon at DS’s house yesterday as the outdoor art class has finished for the summer which meant that once I had collected DGD from school at noon there was no rush to go anywhere.
The older two helped me pull some weeds while their little brother napped and DH stayed indoors with his hay fever.

DH had a call inviting him for knee replacement surgery next month, I’m so pleased for him as his mobility is very restricted now.

DD and her girls had a wonderful evening at Wembley Stadium at the Taylor Swift gig, I think they’ll all be hoarse today!

I must iron today and think about packing for our holiday, everything from T-shirts to wellies probably.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, brightening up after lunch.

After waiting till 10.30 yesterday morning, and a no-show from my gardener, I checked the date, and it is next Friday that he's coming! So I got the next bus and managed to make it to ballet class, where everyone was surprised to see me!

After lunch hopped on the bus and went to M&S Food etc., and as usual the bus home was half an hour late, so didn't get back till 5.30.

Tonight I am going to DD's band concert at a village church (she plays flute) and really looking forward to it. Apparently all tickets are sold out!
Then eldest DGD is staying here overnight- she is at a party in the next close, and will walk round here afterwards; I should be back from the concert, but if not she has a key. I have no idea what she eats for breakfast these days.

Hope the sun shine on us all today.

Good morning and the weather is neither one thing or another!
Yesterday was hot as we sat out at our usual lunchtime pub.
The landlady was poorly so she gave us the key to help ourselves. We are generally the only ones who are there on a Friday lunchtime and have been going for 40 odd years so we are virtually family. She’s nearly 91 so the end is nigh, I fear! 😢.

Soon I will go out to shop for family coming tomorrow . Bake some sausage rolls and a cake. The rest will be a ‘help yourself’ buffet . Too many of us to sit round the table in a civilised manner 🤣.
