Mozzies and midges find me tasty and can get through trousers, t-shirts, jumpers. My bites often turn quite nasty.
The little blighters ignore DH (A+) and make a beeline for me (O+).
I have recently discovered a French anti mozzie irritation spray: SVR Cicavit+ which at least stops the bites swelling. Not sure if it's available here, I got mine in Portugal.

I have to admit that I got fed up with the anti mosquito diet so I'll try the B vitamins - thanks Hatty !

I’m going to smother myself in marmite, drink the Avon so soft, and buy a machine gun/ flame thrower to get the little sods.
Probably won’t work though.

Slept in Greek hotel room with family, me slathered in Avon So Soft, also kids. Next day, me and youngest bitten to shreds. Eldest son not touched. Nor husband, who refused cream. Mozzies are evil crew who laugh in the face of everything and just choose their victims. 😡

Midges, ticks and clegs (horse flies) are the main problems where I live. The only protection from midges and clegs is a midge jacket that covers your whole head and upper body.

I have not yet found any protection from ticks but have only found about two dozen this year so far. Possibly not having deer wandering through the garden nearly every day would help but there's nothing we can do about that. The derr think
it's their garden.

Re mosquitos best thing is take Vit B complex, 2 tabs x 2 daily or a 100mg Vit B1 tab x 1 daily. You have to give it a few weeks to bed in but never stop taking them!! If you do you’ll soon know about it!!

Females generate more heat than men and attract mosquitos
Well , we are more delicious !
Cool yourself off with a cold shower before you go out .
Try a diet containing lentils , beans and tomatoes flavoured with onions , garlic and chilli .
Eat more citrus fruits especially grapefruit .
Drink lemongrass tea and try using citronella oil .

Avon's Skin So Soft dry oil is a perfect protection. Just spray yourself on exposed areas and you will be safe. Mosquitoes hate it!

Daily garlic is supposed to work. You can take capsules that ensure breath remains odourless.

I haven't read all the posts so apologies if someone has already suggested this: Avon's Skin So Soft dry oil spray. Works as a repellant quite brilliantly.

I also have success with Avon Skin-So-Soft. Have been using it to ward off the mossies since the 70s. I am very allergic and if I get a bite on my arm (which I did a few days ago) my whole arm will swell up and bruise. I got the skin so soft out now and will be spraying my arms before gardening. I wish the scent were a bit milder, though.

Just back from a week away in the West Country with a big red lump on the side of my wrist/thumb. Have taken my fairly snug bracelets off just in case of swelling but will look at the Avon recommendation.

I don't know why mosquitoes dislike me but I'm thankful they do.. I don't like, and don't eat, Marmite but when living in a tropical country, I discovered Vegemite which is also a yeast extract, but I find it more to my liking than Marmite. I will probably be shot for treason for saying that! I took to using Vegemite on my breakfast toast and malarial mossies kept their distance.

I am very susceptible, but have found the incognito range really good (and doesn't make your eyes water and dissolve plastic like DEET does - I used to take the pattern off plastic bags etc!)

Avon Skin So Soft does nothing for me and neither does Marmite. I have used both copiously (if Marmite can be eaten copiously - perhaps not!) and nothing changes: I am just too delicious. Well, to biting insects, anyway..

I have heard that bities enjoy some blood groups more than others and I am also type-A. I wonder how much mileage there is that for a researcher, although perhaps that has been looked at before. Probably but with no clear results, else we would know of them.....

I am the same as all you mosquito-attracting Grans. When we went to Mexico after the birth of our oldest grandchild eleven years ago, I had about 200 bites, all reactive. Scroll forward to now and our youngest daughter, now the mother of three, including said oldest, is planning to move the whole family to Mexico! Will I visit? not sure.

I too am allergic to mosquito bites, the worst I ever had were some Belgian mosquitos that really made a meal of me! I had bites the size of my childhood's half-crown coins! it took a month before they went down and stopped itching.

This year, it has been so wet, that we are bothered by ticks and they manage to bite through denims, long socks and any amount of cotton clothes on my top h alf!

A friend told me that he and his wife are half a teaspoon of Marmite every day and mosquitos now avoid them. I don't know if that really works or they've suddenly become luckier.

Apparently, mosquitos don't like you if you eat lots of cheese either!

The Avon So Soft Oil is said to be used by the SAS as it is effective. Eating Marmite will help also and consuming Brewers' Yeast. Mosquitos are said to hate yeast!

Years ago, my dear now deceased next door neighbour and I were gardening. The next day we stood mournfully comparing our respective legs - we had no ankles, thanks to mosquito bites that had covered our lower limbs and we were both suffering greatly with swollen and itchy legs. They find me, always. I was bitten by something malevolent in January, in my garden.

Have you tried Avon Soft and Gentle spray oil, it keeps most ( if not all ) biting insects at bay
