Lovely photos Ashcombe it must be a wrench to leave it.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a muggy South Yorkshire where the sun is in retreat at the moment. It was very hot yesterday. Did some laundry, a bit of gardening and had a lie down mid afternoon and then had a walk after tea when the air felt fresher. The lanes were full of the scent of honeysuckle. Ironing this morning and a volunteer session this afternoon at school.
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire.
I didnt hear MissOops in the night, so I hope she also had a good night, the tablets seem to be working, she needs some decent sleep to help her recover
Nurse will be here later and will check on her,
I’m cautiously optimistic that she will be ok, she has enough pills for 7 days.
Thanks to those lovely Grans who PM’d me. We are doing all we can, she was seen by 3 different Doctors and a Consultant and has had so many tests that we are quite confident that there is no serious underlying cause. There are no other symptoms other than vomiting, no pains anywhere, just debilitating and awful.
Apart from that it’s going to be housework and washing today and the dog is staring at me so I think she wants to go out.
Safe travels to those on the move, I hope you all have lovely holidays.
Hugs for those who are unwell or stressed.
Thanks again Mizuna!
I don't like oil pastels either. These are a different kettle of fish, and they're expensive! And messy. 😄 PM me if you want more info Gmb.
Thank you Mizuna. I really don't like using oil pastels. Oil bars sound interesting.
Good morning all from glorious Suffolk 🌞🌞🌞
On ourcway here we spent time at Gainsboroughs house in Sudbury , lunch in the beautiful ,old garden in the shade of a medlar followed by Long Melford church ( blessedly cool!)
Constable country today - Flatford Mill etc and Beth Chatto gardens later this afternoon - perfect weather.
Slept appallingly in the biggest bed I have ever seen -well, been in- wider than it is long! Because I have a double room all to myself. Lovely really, I tend to worry that as a single traveller I will end up in a housemaids cupboard of a room but no danger of that!
I wish you all well and safe journey to GM - you are heading the right way and Derbyshire should be perfect
I've got a couple of abstracts to do Grandmabatty. I want to play around with my oil bars, which are concentrated oil paint in stick form, but maybe you already know that. Much more fun than oil pastels. I draw with them and then spread them with a brush and white spirit.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and very low cloud. Pantglas and GrandMattie enjoy your holidays! Mizuna what are you painting?
Yesterday was a good day with the boys. Dgs2 produced a glitter masterpiece from playgroup which is adorning my fridge. The other masterpiece was taken home. Dgs1 had a lovely day at nursery. There were bouncy castles, face painting, a mini beach etc. At the end, there was a red carpet to which they had fixed photos of those children going to school and a balloon arch with class of 2024 where we could take photos of them. Very ott but nice. The glitter was taken off the occasion a bit for dgs1 because he was stung by something on the back of his neck. It was very sore and swollen when I picked him up. He was quite subdued and wanted cuddles, however his brother was very jealous and decided he wanted cuddles too.
Today the nursery are having a teddy bear picnic. Dgs2 and I will have our own picnic in the house, I expect. It's very humid and was quite uncomfortable during the night. I think rain is forecast for later. Have a good day all.
Good morning from the Sarthe where it has hardly cooled all night and is forecast to reach 28 degrees today!
The photos taken yesterday show a walnut tree in the garden which grows in what used to be the paddock where DH once had horses and, latterly, a donkey. Without its bark being chewed, it’s now thriving! The other one shows a view of the house.
Safe travels to Pantglas2and grandMattie. Tewkesbury is worth a visit; we broke our journey there en route to Crewe on one occasion.
No major plans today apart from keeping cool, much like everyone, I expect! 🦩🥰😎💐🦩
Good morning from a glorious summers day on the South Downs.
Nothing planned during the day as we shelter from the heat if it gets too hot. But May walk along the sea front this evening - usually a fresh breeze to be had there - very pleasant.
I shall water and perhaps plant my miniature Japanese Cherry. Maybe do some weeding - or retreat under the umbrella for a snooze or read.
This is the coolest part of the day so will get a cup of tea soon and get up I think.
Enjoy this glorious day all
Peace and harmony to every living thing.
Good morning from a sunny Bristol. I’m glad all went well yesterday, Mick.
The forecast for Tideswell is good, so hoping it won’t be as cold and wet as our holiday in Orkney this time last year. We’re setting off at a reasonable 9ish, stopping to buy a few bits and pieces for breakfasts and lunches, the on to Tewkesbury. There is a lovely abbey/cathedral which we both fancy seeing.
Yesterday was busy with toddlers, OAP film and all the busyness of going away and having someone for the night.
I gave my plants a good watering and was taken aback to see my Christmas rose producing five buds!
I hope every one has a good day, poor MissOops improves and all those in sorrow or illness have a peaceful day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning Mick and all who follow from a dry and delightful north Wales coast where I’m all exited 🫨 - off on my travels again to Morocco 🇲🇦. A stay at the airport hotel tonight as we have one of the first flights out tomorrow morning so let’s hope they have no more power cuts!
Will pop back and read later and hope you all have a good day x
Good morning, it’s cloudy here in south Glos but 27° forecast for today 😵💫
I have an hearing aid appointment this morning, I also need to get the car washed and to buy a few bits while I’m in town.
Nothing else planned as I struggle when it’s hot out so will have a quiet afternoon.
Have a lovely day everyone 🌹
Morning all from a muggy West Oxfordshire.
Another quiet day for me - from tomorrow the busyness starts again! I’ll do a bit of ironing and if it’s not too humid sit in the garden.
Have a good day everyone, especially those of you with difficulties.
