Good morning from a sunny Tideswell. It seems a lot cooler today with a light breeze. It was pretty warm yesterday.
We went to Ladybower reservoir and enjoyed the views. The DS took me up a hill. I’m fairly fit, but hills defeat me. I walked at his (fast) pace, but ran out of puff about 3/4 of the way up, so sat in an Oakwood reading my book. I think he was quite pleased not to be held back by his fat, old mum, and raced to the top. He said there was a fantastic view of the reservoir.
We went round another arm of the valley to the dambusters’ practice dam, and had another walk round. Very beautiful, green and peaceful.
DS wanted to go to Bakewell for a slice of “pie”. We pottered around the church, etc., finishing with a nice cuppa and th3 famous pie. Delicious!
We watched the debate last night. I left after a few minutes as I loathe this slagging off of each other, went to bed and read an Ann Tyler book - “The Dutch House”. I am enjoy8ngnita lot.
More sightseeing and walking today, Buxton and Peveril castle I think. I just go along, enjoy everything, especially time spent with my boy.
