Good Morning Monday 1st July 2024

Good morning and it’s grey here in Essex.

I do hope we don’t have rain as I’m taking my friend tonRHS Hyde Hall today. I’m a member and can take a guest. She has never been so I look forward to showing her around.
We’ll have a coffee and then lunch there , so a nice full day. When I go with dh, it’s a quick wizz round and we’re out within the hour. 😳.

I had one of those ‘panicky’ dreams, where everything goes wrong and you can’t seem to move forward. Very discombobulating! 🤯.

Beautiful County Mayo * Baubles*. My parents in law lived in Sligo but MIL ended up in a nursing home in Mayo. We went to Ireland every year and I miss it.

We enjoyed our outing to a concert with DS and DIL yesterday evening, it is years since we have been to one. The Canterbury Orchestra were very good and a packed audience. Today we are visiting the Cold War bunker in our local park courtesy of the U3A. After that I hope life slows down a little we are not used to all this excitement.

Good morning everyone and Happy White Rabbits Day from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; can't believe it's July already.

Did nothing yesterday except read and watch tv - didn't go to our village fun day as it was grey and overcast and rather chilly.

Yoga first thing, then home for coffee and tidying the kitchen. After lunch may go out and do a few little jobs in the garden.
Smoked haddock and new potatoes for dinner tonight.

MissOops is going home today, she still feels queasy but is able to eat small meals. Fingers crossed she will be ok. It means that I will be able to cook again! The smell of food made her feel even worse so we’ve lived on salads. She has lost over a stone in weight and is still quite weak, but happy to be going home.

MrOops is off to Bristol to move GD and her partner into their new shared accommodation, (meeting MzOops there), it means that we can empty the garage of their boxes.

GS is in China for 2 weeks at a University in Beijing, I’m sure he will get the chance to see some of the famous sites whilst he is there.

I painted 2 benches yesterday and did some gardening, it’s nice to be getting back to normal.

Good morning from a drizzly Cornwall, nice and fresh. Got home yesterday afternoon, said hello to my patio and resident robins. So lovely to have my bits and pieces around me in my flat even if I can't be very active for a few days. I'll probably watch more Wimbledon this week than I've ever done!

This morning I have lots of tidying up to do as we've had a busy weekend and seem to have acquired lots of extraneous stuff!! This afternoon I have the second session of this Carer's course. DH is off to the gym this morning.

We had a super day with DD2 and family yesterday.

My only task today is to pick up a parcel for DS from the post office. I found a note from the postman when I checked the house yesterday. The delivery office used to be open from 7.30am to 12.30pm, Now it is 8am to 10am., so I need to get a move on.

Another night of terrors and the head bump have left me out of sorts, consequently I don't feel up to doing much today. An enforced rest is probably a good idea!

Good morning from slightly damp Co Mayo.

A very happy birthday to you Bellasnana.

Yesterday after Mass in Westport we got chatting to a local chap in a coffee shop who was very keen to tell us all about the history of the town, it took some time to extricate ourselves. 😄 Afterwards we took a run out to Achil Island and had an hour or so on the golden sands of Keem Strand. If you’ve seen the film ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ you may recognise this beach and the little building.

I’m not sure what the plans are for today or indeed what the weather may have in store for us so we’ll see how things go.

I finished my summer pyjamas yesterday and I have cleared up. Loving my vintage Bernina, which chugs along like a train. I am keeping it clean and cosy, they do like a bit of tlc

I sat outside for a bit earlier, just listening to the birds and watching their antics on the wibbly wobbly roof tops and chimneys. That was a nice start. I will be hanging washing out soon and de-dusting downstairs. Later I have a craft group gathering and will be making some more lovely hemp milk, to last two days

Yesterday was quiet, I did the few bits out in the garden and enjoyed watching the Tour de France (mainly for the stunning scenery)
Today a very early dog walk before DH takes her to the vet for her 6 monthly checkup and annual vaccinations - I will wait here for the delivery of the doors and windows for the summerhouse.
Then I want to paint a tin trunk using spray paint. I haven’t done that before and have been waiting for a still day so 🤞🏻

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a rather grey, cool South Yorkshire where rain is expected this afternoon. Yesterday I did nothing very much except make a batch of bolognese sauce and apart from a trip to the supermarket for a few bits and pieces I didn’t venture out at all. Mustn’t let that become a habit. I will try and get out for a walk today while it’s dry.

It’s my 68th birthday today, how it happened so fast is a mystery, but I’m grateful to still be going strong.

I’m just having a coffee before going over to watch the boys. DD1’s school has finished for summer holidays but staff still have to go in for a few days this week.

Later I shall be watching Wimbledon, my favourite Grand Slam 🎾

Good morning Mick and others from Polmont where it's currently 10° and the rain has started.
Yesterday I played with dgs2 in the morning. I made a slow cooker pot of lentil soup and the smell was killing him because he kept asking for soup. Of course, it wasn't ready and that didn't please him. After he'd been picked up(minus soup) I tidied up. Every room had stuff in it so it took a while. Then I visited mum who slept the entire time, so it wasn't a long visit.
Today is my early childcare day and the start of the school holidays, so I have both boys all day. Dgs1 has a swim school, so we'll be heading for that, this morning. I'm not sure what dgs2 and I will do while dgs1 is there. It's not long enough for us to go home and then back. I'm sure we'll find something to do.
Tonight I will be mostly resting. Chicken pie for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a clear, sunny Bristol.

I have not one but two of my lovely chaps asleep ATM, one is the spare room the other on a mattress in the living room. The flat feels very full!

DS is taking DGS to Snowdonia for some quality time together, and to go up Snowdon, as well as other long walks, returning on Thursday for voting!

I’ve got the penultimate toddler group this morning quickly followed by going to DD’s to have them sign a PoA with me. Another full day. Then things will wind down as the summer holidays approach.
