Good morning everyone from Severnside.
After quite a lazy day yesterday I went out in the evening to plant my new plant and did a spot of weeding and sniping.
I’ve found a pair of trousers I like the look of so I’ll order them in a minute. Hopefully Beechnutella will be here this morning. I haven’t seen her for a while. Then I’ll be off to vote at some point.
Have a good day all 🪻

Good Morning Thursday 4th July 2024
(41 Posts)Morning all from what looks like a sunny West Oxfordshire.

A busy day beckons. Voting, obviously. I have to drop a key off with my neighbour. She is feeding the cats when we’re on holiday. I have notes to type up from last night’s WI committee meeting. I am expecting delivery of quite a large print which I haven’t told OH about yet! Oh, and I have to pack.
OH has an appointment with a physio today about his knees. He’s had x-ray, spoken to his GP and seen a physio. It seems there are more hooos to go through these days before seeing an actual surgeon.
Have a good day everyone. I’ll be glued to the news after 10 pm tonight waiting for the first exit polls!
grandMattie a sad day for you. I know how these anniversaries can trip you up even if it’s just another day without him.💐
Update: littlest twin just told his mum he’d made a mess. Turned out he had been sick so they aren’t starting nursery today after all.🙈
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Much sunnier than the forecast.
Yesterday's knitting all morning and sewing all afternoon left me with a dreadful backache but not much progress with either project.
Cooking was better and my cousin and I enjoyed dinner together. She had spent the day in Edinburgh.
Canadian friends have just announced that they are in Edinburgh and want to catch up.
I shall go along to the church to cast my vote. My lodger hasn't received her Polling card. I think the turnout will be low in Scotland. That's my prediction!
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Poignant for you and your family gMattie
GrandMattie it was remiss of me not to mention the anniversary of your DH passing. It's good that you will have company.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and sunny. I don't expect it to last though. GrandMattie I didn't see the noctilucent clouds here. That would have been interesting. Bellasnana fingers crossed that your boys settle ok.
Yesterday was quietly busy. I weeded and tidied the garden. I cleaned out the bird bath too which gets a bit slimy. Got an ironing done and put away, hoovered etc, all small jobs but satisfying once completed. I made gooseberry jam and it has turned out fine. It's very expensive though because I buy the berries so I think that'll be the last time of making it. Dsil picked up the towels I had dried and we had a chat.
I'll vote this morning then I'm going to Stirling for lunch with a couple og friends I made through art class. We try to catch up every couple of months. Later I've to pick up cottage pie from dd as a thanks for doing her tumble drying. So that's dinner taken care of too. I will probably go to bed and then get up in the night to catch up with the results. Have a good day all.
Good morning from sunny south Glos, a clear blue sky and a cool breeze.
Hugs Grandmattie 🤗
Lots of tidying up yesterday, the rain was very welcome but not enough really so I watered my planters last night.
I’m enjoying watching the Tour de France, I find myself holding my breath at times 🙄
Today the washing will be hanging on the line early and I will potter around in the garden. DH is walking the dog this morning,
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹
Thinking of you, grandMattie. 💐 It’s good that you have your DS and DGS arriving back today. 🥰
Just written my post, went to preview and it disappeared! So here goes again....
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, but feeling chilly; however a fine dry day is forecast so the towels are already on the go in the washing machine.
Up early as the plumber is coming first thing with a new cistern for the bathroom loo; doubtless it will cost me an arm and a leg, but it needs doing.
A busy morning yesterday, giving the bedrooms a thorough cleaning, including the inside windows and also sorted drawers and cupboards as well. Also got a winter duvet ready to take to the cleaners.
Did not get round to the hoovering, so that is this morning's job once the plumber has been.
Sainsbury's delivery late morning.
May hop on the bus to the shops after lunch as I have some vouchers which can only be used instore.
Hope all have a good day.
Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is making every effort this morning. Yesterday’s work fitting the new back door went swimmingly and it looks very good. Out with the walking group this morning and then lunch with DD, but before all that I will pay an early visit to the polling station.
Have the best day you can folks.
Just been reading about the noctiluscent clouds in Scotland. Any of you Scottish grans seen any? Taichinan? MD?
Good morning from Bristol. It’s sunny but cool, reaching no more than about 16C. Summer?
Ash, Bristol CC has also been brilliant, my postal vote was completed and went sometime ago. DS who only just registered at my address, received his card on Friday, also giving him time to vote today.
I was very tired yesterday. I went to morning prayers as usual; did some floor cleaning and made myself some squash soup for lunch - enough for several days. In the afternoon,I’m had a Townswomen’s Guild meeting. The talk was about knitting patterns - not a very promising title. She had us (appropriately) in stitches. Very enjoyable.
Came home to the podiatrist. We got interrupted. I had left my raffle ticket with a friend, I only won a tin of M&S shortbread!
A bit sad as it is two years since my old best friend, lover and DH died. However, he would have hated me to dwell on it, so…
Today, my chaps are coming home and sleeping here, though we are dining at DD’s.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from Malta where it is still extremely windy and a pleasant 26°C.
Feeling anxious this morning as the boys start nursery. I’m not at all convinced they are ready for it, but hope I’m proved wrong. I will be going to pick them up with DD3 later.
I have my monthly nail appointment at lunch time, then need to buy more paint as I have almost finished the pot I bought and I’ve still got quite a way to go.😩.
Not very interested in the tennis today so will take a break after watching it almost non-stop yesterday.
Wishing a good day to all.☀️
Bore da Mick and all who follow from a dry and bright north Wales coast where I’m delighted to be back in the nest after my olidays! I love the homecoming as much as the going 🤗
Washing, voting and food replenishing shop are my lot today and possibly some 🎾🚵 this afternoon (watching, not partaking you understand…🫨) Cavendish did brilliantly yesterday!
Will catch up on all your doings as well, I’ve been a bit behind (or BIG behind as Mr PG puts it - wot a gent, eh 🤬)!
Good morning from an overcast Sarthe.
Perhaps there’s a problem with the aerial, Mick, affecting your TV. I hope the management of your property will be willing to sort it out. There are some YouTube videos to guide you through retuning a smart TV if you wanted to give that a try.
I hope everyone who wants to vote has the opportunity today or has received their postal vote in good time. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I was most impressed by Torbay Council as mine was sent here, duly completed and returned.
Happy GE Day!! ❌
Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice clear blue sky over brackley this morning.
