Angela Rayner ghastly trouser suit

OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

Are we not allowed to say anything against Saint Ange? If so, that’s very unfair.

Course we are surely.... I like and admire AR, I don't consider her a saint though, and I thought her trouser suit was absolutely dire!

As has been pointed out before loads of Conservatives have been constantly ridiculed about their clothes - Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Therese Coffey, Priti Patel, Nadine Dories, Rishi Sunak and now his wife - the list goes on and on.

Yet just ONE Labour member, Angela Rayner is on the receiving end and all hell breaks out on here! Compliments were made about Labour ladies who WERE dressed appropriately. I will just add that it’s not just on GN. There are few positive comments about the Deputy Prime Minister’s outfit anywhere!

Goodness me the amount of pearl clutching going on over this is sickening.

Such blatant hypocrisy. So what if many people (other forums too) thought the trouser suit was a mistake? I can remember when Boris was in intensive care with Covid some poster commented she wished he’d die. That didn’t cause nearly as much outrage as this. Priti Patel was routinely called Ugly Patel.

This is the worst of GN in my opinion and deeply unpleasant. Yes I am being sarcastic when I use that phrase and whenever I see it on here I always hear Margaret Thatcher’s voice.

I’ll leave you to your smelling salts ladies.

I admire Angela, well done her for getting where she is. Against the odds.

I did not like her trouser suit, it did her no favours. It's a bit worrying because I have an emerald green trouser suit but it's not so flappy legged as hers!

I haven't read all the thread. I imagine she is being vilified on here, some people can't cope with a straight talking strong woman.

The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

GSM’s deleted post has been mentioned several times on MN.

Fame at last then.

There’s free speech and then there’s full-scale nastiness. All from behind a computer using a pseudonym!

Kandinsky Sun 07-Jul-24 17:07:00

As if AR would care what a bunch of women on a grandparents site think of her fashion sense - this isn’t Gucci HQ.
She’s had a tough life and overcome a lot. This thread would mean absolutely nothing to her.

I posted to say what a vile this thread is on Friday, not been back since,I haven’t read it,it was to nasty to bother with, cannot believe it got worse!Yes it needs taking down, nothing to do with ā€œfree speech ā€œ!

It has everything to do with free speech actually.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 07-Jul-24 17:04:07

It would be best if this whole thread was removed. It’s an embarrassment.

grannydarkhair Sun 07-Jul-24 17:03:56

kircubbin2000 That’ll go right over a great many heads 😁 And I beg to differ about that dress, I really like it, but I think it would have looked better with either navy or red shoes and not the white she was wearing.

JaneJudge Sun 07-Jul-24 17:03:41

I imagine Rishi Sunaks wife was pissed off she had to take time off work to attend her husband's leaving do

I didn’t like the stripey dress either much but Mrs S managed just about to carry it off. There seems to be too much material in a lot of dresses just now which only the tall and slim can get away with.😔

People’s opinions don’t bother me but what does is double standards.
There is a post on MN making reference to Angela holding the fort while Starmer kisses the kings ring 😔
No wrapped knuckles there.
Over the years there have been hundreds of posts where members have been vile to Angela Raynor and Jess Phillips.

LauraNorderr Sun 07-Jul-24 17:01:02

Trouble is when nasty incriminating posts are removed the offender gets away with it.
No record of all the nastiness.
Perpetuates the myth that some are never unkind to others.

Well Mrs Sunak looked a bit odd in her choice of dress - it was just one of those days.

A shining example.

^I just hope that the ghastly Daily Mail doesn't pick up this thread, can you imagine the hurt if AR reads this?^
Agree. And what will it say about GN.

That we’re not all little old nanas sitting knitting Shreddies but discuss all manner of things including the fashion faux pas of public figures.Just a guess.

Other colours are available.

god could you imagine? sad

Bridie22 Sun 07-Jul-24 16:58:28

There is criticism and there is rudeness and the trouser suit isn't my cup of tea , but no way would I be so awful about it or the wearer on a public forum!

^Never heard of colour drench.Just means two matching pieces^

Thank you. You learn something new every day. šŸ˜‚

I’ve only heard it applied to interior design.

it was on the M&S documentary (itv maybe?) recently

I thought she looked ok and tbqh I think people can wear what they want. I think it fell under the smart banner, it's not like she was one of those people in tesco in their pyjamas (happens a lot by me grin )
