No BlueBelle it really isn’t y’know.99% of posters who criticise the outfit are doing just that, they don’t happen to like it.I wish AR well in her new role but feel at liberty just like others to say what I think of it.There is too much of shutting down others going on these days.
Oreo this isn’t criticising someone’s clothes, it’s a total character assignation and if you don’t see that, then you’re as bad as the ones doing it
The by far the most derogatory post has been taken down. People are possibly commenting on the thread as it stands now, rather than what was said but removed, which was truly appalling.
Why don’t posters shout for threads to be taken down when brexit voters/ Reform voters are called uneducated racists? Or when posters say very cruel things about Nigel Farage? I have absolutely no opinion on this trouser suit, but it does seem a bit OTT to ask for this thread to be taken down.
So, a handful of posters don’t like free speech when it’s against a trouser suit worn by a Labour politician. If it had been worn by Kemi Badenoch I wonder if the chorus of disapproval would be anywhere as loud.🤔 Public figures do get discussed for their fashion mistakes.Only one poster said anything at all about morals, most of us simply thought the outfit a mistake. If you keep up with all the misplaced outrage then the thread will be taken down which of course would suit you very well.
The deliberate offence and attempts to humiliate AR has been something of a recurring theme on gransnet but this thread plumbs new depths I’m sure Angela Rayner is used to a certain amount of character assassination. This thread has comments from a group of older women who find it acceptable to call her a tart, attack her clothes, body shape, accent, class, etc. It’s made me review my dislike of the Be Kind movement
I have read the first two and the last page of this thread and that was more than enough. Some of the comments are absolutely disgusting and say so much more about the posters than AR. Please take this down Gransnet.
Although some of the posts on this thread have been mind bogglingly rude and downright bitchy, I think it has been an education in how some posters think, to see a professional woman described as a tart was a shock, even if it was unclear whether this was due to having a child outside marriage/having big boobs/speaking with a Northern accent/wearing an unflattering trousers suit.
I just hope that the ghastly Daily Mail doesn't pick up this thread, can you imagine the hurt if AR reads this?
Talking of large breasts, I think somebody mentioned them. I am rather well endowed. I’m always grateful for this if I need to go away for ten days or more as I can pack five pairs of rolled up knickers in each cup of my spare bra. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before but I’ll mention it again as it raised a titter.
This thread has descended into multiple posts breaking TGs - if this continues we will be removing the thread. Please post with the TGs in mind and of course report anything that needs a look.
I wish you would take it down. I'm embarrassed that I had recommended this forum to a friend and this was the first thread that she came across.
I thought this was an appalling thread from the start. Some of the comments have been what you would expect to hear in the playground at the local girls school. I remember someone telling my daughter she was wearing a lovely coat - but not on her!
