OMG the Deputy PM looked a fright walking along Downing Street this afternoon.

Showwaddywaddy called and want their suit back!! 🤣

She looks like she either has no bra on or a badly fitting one. Her boobs are almost down to the waistband of her trousers.

What a nasty thread! The usual clique of bullies.

Horrible, isn't it?

It certainly is Doodle.

You don’t need to be only partially clothed to look like a tart.

There you go again GSM : Angela is a tart and illegitimate children from another thread !
Does it make you feel better to be so abusive ?
You really need to get off your high horse .

Perhaps they could show the video of ‘poor old Boris’ giving his Pepper Pig speech to remind us that ‘this was our PRIME MINISTER’!

Yes and he frequently looked a fright too, but that doesn’t mean we can’t criticise any other politician and how they look.
Am really hoping all the posters protesting about the criticism aren’t just doing it as they are Labour voters? That’s how it’s looking btw.
I feel free to criticise the dress sense of politicians from any Party and will do so whenever I want to.Hope others will as well.

LizzieDrip Fri 05-Jul-24 22:55:18

I think GSM hasn’t coped very well with Labour winning the GE🤷‍♀️

Churchview Fri 05-Jul-24 22:54:07

How unkind some people are.
I don't think she looked bad at all.
She's not there to be a clothes horse.
Good for her marching to the beat of her own drum - she's earned it.

Deeds not clothes.

You are not any more special than any woman ‘GSM’ whatever job you did and you really have gone down a rabbit hole tonight I m surprised and disappointed but don’t let it bother you, you carry on feeling very, very superior to everyone else which is how it’s coming across
Angela Raynor has earned her place and doesn’t need to be judged in such a snobbish unkind way …to call her a tart because she was in a suit you didn’t approve of is unbelievable unkind unnecessary and just shows you up not her

I m going to bed I d rather have a coffee with someone wearing a crumpled trouser suit than someone with so much bitterness

Delila Fri 05-Jul-24 22:46:04

That to GSM

Delila Fri 05-Jul-24 22:43:38

I know exactly what pro bono work in a law centre is, which is why I’m surprised that you said if you think I worked for a wide range of people you are much mistaken.

Why should I be ashamed?

Why are you all having a go at GSM?? She is as entitled to her opinion as much as the rest of you. I happen to agree with her, AR might as well have stuck two fingers up to the voting public. In other words I don't care what I look like, I'm in the top job so you can all do one.

I agree. If GSM thinks she looks tarty then that’s her opinion.

Wasn’t that long ago people were having a go at TheresaMay over her animal print shoes and big necklaces or poor old Boris out jogging in a bobble hat and surfing shorts.

They just played the audio of Rayner’s foul attack on theConservatives where she called them the most dreadful names including scum, filth etc. and said “THIS is the Deputy Prime Minister.”

Are you a mature man Rekarie by any chance?

More nonsense.

No, I'm not

Oh this is all descending into nonsense now.

Why on earth will she look at these photos and shudder, Oreo?

Maybe you shudder but that's just your opinion. The loose trousers are very fashionable right now. Maybe not all on GN are aware.

Angela looks fine. I'll say she looks great. So she's upsetting the more mature woman on GN. I doubt she'd be bothered.

And I'd be very happy to see her on the world stage as well.

And that’s just your opinion too, come to that.
Am very aware that wide trousers are fashionable, I may even be younger than you.Wide and too long is the fashion and if AR wants to wear this to a social occasion, fair enough.
She is now Deputy PM and looked a fright.

Talent and intelligence? They may be obvious to you but I have yet to see evidence.

In the course of my work I dealt with professional people - the nearest I got to the likes of AR wax when doing pro bono work in a law centre. If you think I worked for a wide range of people you are much mistaken.

Regarding Angela Rayner’s talent and intelligence, GSM, the facts speak for themselves.
I’m surprised you haven’t encountered all sorts of people if you worked in a pro bono law centre. What were you doing? Cherry picking only the suitably-dressed clients?

When you do your unpaid stint in a law centre you take people as you find them and deal with their problems. It’s something you do on top of your paid work, regardless of how heavy your workload is. It’s a commitment that many of the legal profession make. Your nasty comment shows that you have no understanding of it whatsoever. You should be ashamed.

I hoped that we had moved on from judging people on their fashion. These women are not working for Vogue.

Exactly.

Bridie22 Fri 05-Jul-24 22:21:29

I think Angela's job trumps yours GSM!!
Don't care what she wears as long as she fulfills her new role

I am neither left leaning or a fool.

I do however abhor keyboard bitchiness.

I will reserve my judgment on Ms Rayner until I see her effectiveness in Government.

Well said.

Casdon Fri 05-Jul-24 22:20:19

I have yet to come across someone else on GN who was a partner in a City law firm. I had to dress accordingly (and, Casdon, that doesn’t constitute being up myself).. I expect the deputy PM to dress to similar standards and don’t consider that unreasonable. She’s not a teacher or an office worker - in the absence of the PM she is in charge of the country.

The reference to being up yourself is having the cheek to assume you dressed more professionally than others, and that you have some kind of superior knowledge about what constitutes professional clothes. The bottom line is, Angela Rayner has risen to a more senior position than any of us, including you, and she has the right to choose to wear whatever she likes to work, providing it is decent - which it was. What constitutes modern professional wear for a young woman in her forties is probably not what any of us would wear - but I’d hazard a guess she wouldn’t care, why would she? You allowed your personal dislike to cloud your judgement.

Well I've not looked at any footage outside no 10 today not really interested in Labour but couldn't resist a peek at Angela Rayner, well I'm lost for words she certainly didn't do herself any favours

The photo needs to be enlarged to get how awful it is. The trousers are way too long as well.

Marg75 Fri 05-Jul-24 22:19:01

GSM 'In the absence of the PM she is in charge of the country'. That thought fills me with horror, can you imagine her and her ghastly trouser suit amongst the world leaders?

Oreo Fri 05-Jul-24 22:19:00

What’s going on here? Have we come to only being allowed by other posters on threads to say that either women or men look terrible/ poor dress sense if they represent a different political allegiance to ourselves?
She looked awful! However pleased I am that Labour are forming the new government doesn’t blind to me to how any politician looks and will be judged by the watching public.
Hopefully she will look at the tv footage, shudder and learn from it.She won’t go wrong if she copies Yvette Cooper and what she wears as a working politician.
I agree with Monica in that too short, tight jackets are a strange choice for anybody, as are the wide, creased trousers, especially paired with matching colour stilettos and a button up type blouse tucked into the waistband.
I don’t know what kind of job AR will make of being Deputy PM and levelling up minister ( sounds a bit of a non job) that has still to be seen, but she sure needs advice about what to wear. And Yeah, we are allowed to say so.
