No hanging chads, no violence outside Parliament as one party says it was cheated and defrauded out of a successful outcome, no rioting in the streets, no control of which candidates stood by a controlling un elected higher power (Iran), no rioting in the streets.
Just gracious speeches from the winner and loser saying generous things about their opponents, while all those election officials stand down the paraphenalia of plooing booths and counts, losing candidates return home and have a good night's sleep, winners stay up parting.
If there is one thing we can still do well, it is the peaceful transfer of power. Pity the rest of the world cannot do the same.
