She was never ‘Princess Diana’.

She was Diana, Princess Of Wales after her divorce, and simply ‘HRH The Princess Of Wales’ when she was married.

I don't think you can begin to compare Princess Diana with the current Princess of Wales. For a start they come completely different backgrounds. Diana was Lady Diana Spencer before she married the then Prince Charles. Catherine was a commoner although her family were very well off. All that is before we onto the fact that William and Catherine were a love match and still seem to have a very strong and loving relationship.

Diana described her marriage as involving three of them as Charles never ended his affair with Camilla before during or after his marriage to Diana. How Catherine would have behaved in similar circumstances is anybody's guess.

Whatever you may think about them, Meghan and Harry also seem happy with each other and I think Harry compares Meghan with Diana partly because they are the two women in his life he really loves. He also seems to find echoes in the way the royal family and the press treated Meghan in the way his mother was treated.

Every one is one of a kind. Cannot understand why everyone seems to have elevated her to sainthood. Very sad she died so young, but unfortunately many do.

Thats the emotional drive in Harry behind the comparison I think, but they aren't comparable.

I do sympathise with anyone whose family dies though.
My husband's father died in a car crash when he was 7. It does leave an impact.

Catherine Princess of Wales is not like her husbands late mother, Catherine doesn’t hunt the cameras, parade her children for the press photographers, give interviews unless speaking of charities.

I've never understood the whole royal obsession. I kind of took to Diana because we were the same age, and had babies at the same time.

I wasn't hysterical about her, though.

Wyllow3 I used the words 'seems to find' advisedly as I was not wishing to express an opinion as to the value or otherwise of his comparison.
I was not a fan of Diana but, of course, it is always sad when, particularly young, people die so tragically.

I don't like any of them and I think far too much respect, wealth and privilege is accorded to them for simply being born into the firm. However, I think we need them as a barrier against a dictatorship.

If Trump is re-elected, I have very grave fears for the democratic future of the USA. Imagine if Boris Johnson had been president rather than prime minister.
