Still travelling, although doing more of it by train instead of flights these days.

I so agree polomint and there's lots of this country left to visit.

Places I've been and places I'd like to go.

I travel by YouTube too - I've flamencoed in Seville, tangoed in Italy and joined a mountain climb in Nepal.

At the moment I'm eagle watching in Scotland, whale and shark watching in South Africa and California and following Hurricane Beryl through the Caribbean on webcams in Jamaica, Barbados and Grenada.

At some point I expect I will want to get back out in the world but at the moment have no interest beyond the UK.

Yesarewethereyet is agree with you. I've been " visiting" so many places in the comfort of my own chair. I know it doesn't compare with " the real experience" but I'm happy to do it this way. I still travel around the UK doing overnight stays

We probably won't go abroad again. We've been lucky enough to go to some wonderful places but now it's the UK for us. My DH travels by YouTube regularly.

No, I prefer to see places in person . Travelling and airports don’t bother me .

We don’t fly, but ferries and Eurostar can get you to other European countries with less hassle. What about trying organised train trips or cruises along European rivers?

I have been around a bit; in fact. I live abroad.

I enjoy the travelling. It helps if you can get in the mindset that the travelling is actually part of the holiday. Packing can be a game, arriving early at the airport and treating myself to a drink or even a nice meal, as I won't be driving, trying perfumes at the duty free shops, people watching.

Putting the work in in advance, preparing well by writing lists. Downloading the necessary apps, reading up on the sights to see. This all reduces the stress but helps you to get excited and look forward to it rather than be apprehensive about the strange situations.

I watch a lot of travel documentaries on YouTube, too. But sometimes I just like to be somewhere else.

I like travelling tbh.

But some places I wouldn't normally choose to go.

I've spent a lot of my life travelling and living abroad and enjoyed it. For now, I'm just enjoying the UK.

YouTube travelling isn't the same as real life travelling - you don't get the smells, the sounds, the languages, the people, the food.

But I've seen a lot of places I never knew existed, some places I would like to go to at some point. When I go I'll have a better understanding of the place and people than if I just picked up a travel brochure and picked a place. I wish I'd had YouTube 40 years ago when I first started travelling on my own.

Yes, smell, food and sound are all part of travel in real life.
