Almost missed the sewing bee as they moved it to BBC2
What "back then" inconvenience would annoy today's youngsters?
What's one health habit you've started that's actually made a difference?
I love watching Sport...but I like other programmes as well...why does it absolutely take over š”...what percentage of viewers watch it soooooo much?

The young Spaniard is determined to have two championships going to Spain today!
Astounding playing!
Yes heās racing through the match. I think he wants it done with so he can enjoy the football!

Could I add that it's not 1982, when we only had three channels, and the BBC had Wimbledon on two channels and ITV would probably have some cheap imported soap as an alternative. I can't be bothered with most televised sport, but there are far more channels and it's easy to avoid. What I can't stand is going into a pub that has Sky Sports and having to put up with football morons shouting at a screen.
Paolini won but not before the school run - probably still on when you got back! She's great to watch isn't she - so happy but also clearly very competitive. Reminds me of Yvonne Goolagong so many years ago (mainly her looks & she's petite).
Iām sick to death of sport taking over all the main channels to the extent that it does. By all means show some sport, but the schedulers just donāt know when to stop. Wimbledon, football, racing, motor racing, golf and on and on and on. Oh yes, and very soon weāll have the olympics dominating the scheduling to look forward to as well, followed by, perhaps, cricket, darts and snooker, too, just to ring the changes. š¤¬
Canāt stand all the sport. Donāt watch soaps or reality like Love Island etc.
Donāt enjoy many police dramas and lots of the new ācomedy
ā shows just are not funny.
So, I leave DH to the tv and go and do something more interesting.
Whenever a big sporting event is being shown they never waste new stuff because so many would be watching the sport.
This year itās tennis and euro football together. The perfect storm.
So the offerings on the none sport showing UK terrestrial Chanels eg BBC2 or Chanel 4 arenāt really an alternative in my opinion, usually a previously broadcast aka a -chance- to-see-it- again.
Iāve noticed a film or two at prime time and some maybe classics but these can usually be got on the Chanelsā catch-up players anyway. Assuming you have internet access that is.
Iāve done a trawl of ITVX , Chanel4 etc and āsavedā several series I never got to see first time round.
As for daytime on all the main Chanels - well after morning news and HomesUndertheHammer itās all a bit of a nonentity isnāt it?š«£
Thanks Grandmadinosaur Iāll go check out Sport forum.
The way itās going though I think youāll be ok for school pickup.
But then thereās the other semiā¦.

This wasnāt the Wimbledon post I was looking for but I couldnāt see the other. My apologies for hijacking this one for the tennis fans.
Iām a tennis fan and watching the ladies semis today. I so enjoy seeing Paolini play. She is a real breath of fresh air. Such a contrast to when we had the Williams sisters brute force.
There is a thread for devoted Wimbledon fans on the Sport forum.
Iām watching Paolini really hope she wins and preferably before 3.15 when I have to go out for school pick up!

Amelgra the number of adverts they put out, we'd hardly notice if it was funded by advertising anyway.
Wimbledon takes over far too much time on a channel we are FORCED to pay for! A little more coverage of other sports wouldnāt go amiss, after all they do have FOUR channels to choose from. Unfortunately the lefty loving BBC is in decline; so much of their output and planning is poor. Perhaps itās time to scrap the outdated licence fee and Royal Charter (they flout some of the terms of it anyway) and make it a subscription channel!
I'm a Wimbedon fan but I still think BBC3 could become a dedicated sports channel instead of spending licence-payers' money on the little-watched stream of rubbish that it broadcasts on there at present.
With Wimbledon and the Euros both on, that would mean BBC1 or 2 would also be dedicated to sport, but at least not both.
That would also mean that BBC1 or 2 would have to spend money producing quality programmes that non-sporting viewers would want to watch.
Why do I get the feeling all the Wimbledon devotees feel rather superior to other mortals who watch the above shows
Not at all, just (if youāll pardon the expression) -horses for courses.
Some people think sport should be contained on one channel (despite there being so many different varieties)., because āthereās nothing else to watchā.
My point is, turn your tv on at 5 or 5.30 or perhaps 7.30 and what choice is there?
And we are talking about Wimbledon fortnight -not 52 weeks of the year.
So give us tennis fans a break!

Can I put I a request for a Soaps channel then please (never watch them) and snother one for brainless game shows like Tipping Point, The Chase, (ditto) and one for equally brainless reality TV shows- Love Island, Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity etc as I don't watch them either.

I admit to watching Corrie, dire though it often is, but no other soaps, and none of the game or reality shows.
Still not keen on Wimbledon on more than one channel at the same time though.

Iāll second that request.

Why the bloody hell canāt they just stick to my the damn sports channels and leave those of us who hate ALL sports to have some worth watching on the main terrestrial channels. Disrupting the news is UTTERLY unacceptable
Channel 4 News?
I like Tipping Point š
None of the others, though.

I do
Not forgetting Tour de France are we? Iām back and forth through the channels like a dervish!
Same deal with the Euro match, France v Spain. The Great British Sewing Bee postponed until tomorrow. It's absolutely the only TV I watch. It was the same last week because of Wimbledon.
Me too.Loving all the sport! I don't watch game or reality shows...not my thing
Me!!! Love it and the Euros and looking forward to Olympics. We all love sport but I get it... If you don't it's total overkill! Always said BBC should have a Sport Channel for that very reason...but I'm loving it!ššš
