The sun yesterday did a good job ripening my tomatoes , the mini cucumbers are slow , I need to start them off earlier next year
My youngest sister was home from Newcastle on Monday , feeling poorly and thought it was cold , yep she has Covid , but she says she’s feeling better this morning , but has to ring round and cancel medical and dental appointments
I’ve the washing machine thrashing away , it will hang out and get that nice fresh smell

I’m left to my own devices now as DD has left. Just finished my antibiotics, so hoping the painkillers will be sufficient until this damned abscessed tooth and it’s remains are surgically removed, which I’m not looking forward to…

At least my concentration is better as the pain is lessened and I was able to start a new book by Frances Hodgson Burnett, whose adult fiction I love.

Good morning all. I'm sorry for my recent lack of posts. I don't know what's happening or what I'm doing, but each day lately as I come to the end of a longish offering up comes "This page is not available" on my screen. And then everything, including my post, just disappears! So frustrating.
Anyway, one last attempt.
Blue skies and sunshine on the Angus coast - and a lot of cloud of course.
I'm at last getting my mojo back after covid - the exhaustion and lack of appetite lingered for a couple of weeks. So now it's catch up on housework time. Last week at tai chi I just hadn't the energy to take part, but this week it's business as usual. 22 of us turned up for tai chi on the beach at the weekend, which was a great turnout on a beautiful summer's moment 😉 - warm, a light breeze and blue skies. It rained later of course so we were very lucky
I've also been up and down to Dundee a few times, which has become something of a challenge due to three lots of major roadworks through the next town. Usually it takes 10-15 minutes to drive through, but coming home one day last week it took 45 minutes! So yesterday I allowed an extra 30 minutes for my journey - and arrived 30 minutes early!!
And that's just about it - and I'm still here!
Happy birthday to all the birthday girls I've missed, and happy anniversaries. I hope all the poorlies are much better and that everyone is enjoying the elusive snatches of summer. I shall be back later to read through and maybe I'll manage to get back to 'proper posting' tomorrow. Have a good day x

Good morning Mick and everyone from a rather grey Carlisle where we may well get a shower or two.
I'm hoping so as yesterday I sprinkled more lawn feed on the bits I obviously missed some days ago. The greater part that I didn't miss is growing madly, the downside of lawn care, I shall be out mowing more often.

Today I'm going to tackle the ironing and possibly run the vacuum around downstairs. After that, it's admin/reading/gardening time depending on the weather and my inclinations.

You've done some good today Grandmabatty, given quite a few of us a chuckle! Typos are often better than the intended text.

GM. I know what you mean about not saying anything. DD appeared last night and we were discussing our forthcoming trip to Edinburgh and every suggestion I made was dismissed.
I too will go with the flow or leave DH,DD and SIL in a pub and do my own thing, 😉

Apart from a haircut, I won't be doing much today. Dollie wasn't any bother at all yesterday, but I was just feeling rubbish. I felt terrible, when she asked to go to the swing park, but I knew I couldn't manage it. Instead, I suggested that she water the garden. What fun she had!
I came round to the front of the house to find her barefoot, spraying herself with the hose!
As well as watering our front garden, she watered her grampa's, he lives next door and has been unwell. Much to her delight, he arrived home from hospital, as she was watering his grass. They were both delighted to see each other. She had been fretting, thinking he might die. How those little ones worry.

After dinner, I went to close the conservatory doors, but they had swollen in the heat. I somehow managed to jam them together half shut. I panicked, because they were making an awful crunching noise. DH was not at all amused! His last words as he left to take Dollie home alone were, Do not touch those doors, until I come back!.
Did I listen? Of course not, because I knew that his usual style is to go hashing and bashing. By the time he came back, I had manged to free them and lock them.
I was correct in my assumption. He appeared round the back with a heavy spade in hand, (his usual modus operandi!) to force them closed.
Today I will be phoning the installers, because they were custom made, only a few years ago.

Today I need to go to M & S Food Hall to collect a parcel and return part of an order. Of course it will involve buying treats.

All GC have now started the summer break, consequently I am on Grandma duty various days, evenings and a few overnights. I do enjoy them, but boy can they all eat…

An empty in prospect and nothing I have to do so it’s a good thing I have plenty to read. Yesterday saw the shower sorted out, the house sorted out (Wonderful Cleaner) and the shopping done and as the gardener came on Monday I am temporarily all up together. Won’t last!

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, a fine day forecast.

Seemed to be still on go-slow yesterday morning, but had revived enough to join my walking group in the afternoon. It was pleasant in the sunshine and good to get out and about in good company. Plus a welcome coffee at the sports centre afterwards.

A few things to do this morning, Hoover downstairs, clean my en-suite, put the dishwasher on. Then a Sainsbury's delivery. Plan on cutting the back grass after lunch before it gets too long and the rain arrives tomorrow. Then continue with my library book.
Chilli for.dinner tonight.

Good morning from a mooring near to Teddington Lock. We arrived here late yesterday afternoon.
My 2 daughters and 5 granddaughters were in London on the South bank yesterday afternoon and saw us motor past near London Bridge. They waved and took a photo of us. It made my day seeing them all.
Today we will carry on our journey to who knows where but this part of the river is lovely and peaceful.

Good morning from a sunny still South Downs. One of those glorious early summers morning. Nothing is moving. Not even the birds seem up yet.

I have my sister and hubby for a barbecue late afternoon. So I have decided on a North African flavoured menu. The lamb has been marinating is ras el hanout overnight and I will smoke it for about 6 hours so it must really be on by 9 if I’m going to rest it. I’m serving it in flatbreads with tomato and aubergine flavoured with Dukkah and yogurt. I’m cheating for desert with a Waitrose tart tatin and ice cream.

The rest of the day is free so I shall potter in the garden.

Just looked out and the bees are up and sparrows beginning to stir, so I need to fill up the feeders etc.

Good morning all and it’s another beauty here in Suffolk. The sea is calm but very loud . I love to hear it.

Yesterday was so humid and draining. No energy and woolly brained! 🤯. Dh mowed the lawns and I (tried) to mow the steepish bank with the pusher. I couldn’t complete it so will have another go today 🥵.

Today I’m meeting Liberty for coffee and cake.Lovely.

Our odd job man is coming to put the new bed together along with legs and headboard . It’s too heavy for us.

We have a new wardrobe to put together too, so he could do that for us while he’s here.

Good morning from a dull but warm Black Country.

Spent yesterday with Mum. Lunch out and a short walk down the Staffs Railway walk to the Hospice Charity shop. Purchased 2 books, and little bag and a pretty necklace. Total sum £5.50! Mum sat on a chair whilst I mooched. She has never had to do that before! We have done this walk many times, it is less than 15 mins each way. On the way back Mum stopped a few minutes from her house and asked me to get the car whilst she waited on a corner. I think these walks will now have to stop. Such a shame, but she was struggling. She is 94 though.

Today I am meeting up with my friend for a walk to and around the park. I am sure we will pop into the cafe there. Although being school holidays it will be very busy!

DD and family are off to Corfu today. Just had photo's of the girls walking to the plane. They will be off soon. They had to get up at 3am this morning.

Oh dear Grandmabatty the joys of predictive text. Made me chuckle though.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk,another lovely day ahead.

I’m off to keep fit shortly and then going to meet Gingster in a cafe near the beach where we can sit outside and chat to our hearts’ content. So looking forward to seeing her.

I stubbed my toes yesterday whilst carrying a basket of laundry upstairs in bare feet. I think I may have cracked a bone in one or two toes but apart from strapping them together,I’ll just have to wait for them to heal.

Off to visit an old neighbour at her Retirement Home. I suspect she is on the way out, so I want to go and chat with her about old times. Her daughter lives in Colorado and she has few relatives here in the U.K. it’s sad.

I think my body is trying to tell me something. Today is going to be a do nothing day (after I have stripped my bed) as I feel so washed out. LLFL I too was sad to see John Mayall had died. I saw him in a club in West Hampstead in 1965 when my brother in law’s brother, Kim Simmonds, was forming his fledgling Savoy Brown’s Blues Band, whose music went on to earn both gold and silver discs. John was a big influence on Kim.

Good morning from a dry and bright NE.
Yesterday was a quiet day after the hairdresser left.
When I went to collect the post I was surprised to find a hand written letter in the box. When I opened it there was a necklace inside, a Paua shell decorated initial of my name on a silver chain.
The sender was a friend of my late DH who just returned from watching the rugby in New Zealand.
He is such a gentleman and has kept in touch with me regularly, DH's family haven't spoken to me since the day he died.

My younger sister is not well since starting the B12 injections but they have told her it can take months to feel any benefit.

My elder sister messaged me to say she wanted to talk to me on the phone so I rang her after dinner, two hours 40 minutes we talked so I got nothing else done last night.

I may go shopping today, BIL says he is happy to take me. I do feel guilty wanting to go to an actual shop as they do all their shopping online. I could do that too but then I would never see or get to talk to anyone.

Good morning from dry s somerset

Yesterday just flowed, one of those lovely positive days when things got done and everything was pleasurable. It started off with roomba cleaning my living room while I was at the hairdressers, this time I shifted some things out of the way. When I got back I cleaned the skirtings and actually put things away. Suddenly my room became pristine and what an easy job that was for such good results. Must try and keep it tidy

My sewing room is an unholy mess and I am on my third full bobbin, this coat of mine is looking lovely and doing 1-2 hours a day is enough, I did some before bed and slept a full 8 hours, must be good for the brain

Yesterday I spent the morning sorting out the voluntary work from Monday. Today I need to start stripping some foliage from the greenhouse tomatoes, an early job before it gets too warm in there.
