Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. It’s going to be a warm one. I had an unbroken night’s sleep for once. Depending on how I feel when I get up, I will drive over to DDs and water her indoor plants, and have a short walk in the woods while I’m there.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow.

We are off to Edinburgh for the weekend for our cancelled steam train visit to Aberdeen and back, I was so looking forward to the steam train journey over the Forth Rail Bridge, it is my favourite journey in the World. I am so disappointed, but we will make the best of it. I am no stranger to disappointments in my life. 😉
I have been warned by DD that there is to be No TKMaxx! Yet another disappointment. 🤣

I will come back and read the posts later. DH is champing at the bit!

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It looks like a beautiful day so far.

I slept very badly, again. Since my two sons fell out that is the last thing on my mind at night and the first in the morning,

OH is out for the day shooting targets with his Shooting Club. I was going to spend the day baking for a couple of events I have coming up, but thought I’d have a quiet day instead. Maybe reading or sorting some things out for a Charity shop. Who knows. I’m off to London tomorrow to meet up with younger son for our annual trip to the Summer Exhibition so I need to keep my strength up!

Lots of grans are having exciting times at the moment, so enjoy it all!

Good morning from very soggy South Lanarkshire. We had a huge thunderstorm yesterday evening with torrential rain.

DH was discharged yesterday afternoon with a new knee, a large bag of medications, a sharps bin, and a very high toilet seat. He then dozed for several hours before bedtime.

I’ll have my nurse’s hat on today as he begins his recuperation and exercise schedule.

Eldest DGD is en route to Birmingham with her netball team which is playing in the final of a four nations tournament tomorrow. Her Mum and the mum of another team mate will be driving down later today to cheer them on.

I’d best go down and get the coffee on now.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from Naples where it’s forecast to be 34°C with a light breeze.

We are going to a tiny island called Procida today so I need to get going.

My niece’s DH was planning to come with us but has been called into work (he’s in the Royal Navy but working for NATO)so that’s disappointing.

What a lovely birthday treat for your little grandson, Mizuna.

What rotten luck for your family Maw. These protestors cause so much misery to others. I hope it all works out ok.

GrandmaBatty I was sorry to hear of your fall and do hope you aren’t feeling too sore today. 💐

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning, a bright start here in south Glos, I’m hoping it’s dry so I can hang out the washing.
I enjoyed Stitch club yesterday, the last one until September; only 6 of us but we have a good natter😊
Housework today, change the beds and get everything sorted for the weekend.
Dh says he’s going to DD’s next week so a peaceful few days here! Ddog and I will do our own thing perfectly happily 😀 I will order some nice ready meals or easy to cook food for me 😋
Hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from Cornwall where the sky is clear and bright. Grandson's 7th birthday party yesterday, lots of chaos and fun. His main present was a surprise fishing trip with his dad and a well-known local fisherman; his little face was a picture when he heard the news. He's a capable fisherman/boy and as they were several miles off the coast he caught a lot of large fish to freeze. A pod of dolphins accompanied them home. An unforgettable birthday for the lad.

My cousin is coming today to collect his author-father's ancient typewriter and the books he wrote on it. Haven't seen him for years so I'm really looking forward to a coffee with him in the café next door; they make the best in town.

Good morning all- having been up since 4.30 I may well be saying Night, night and going back to bed! Airport taxi booked for 5.15 to take D, GS1 and GD to catch their flight to Paris. Which is now delayed until 10.25 🙁
Nothing compared to the shambles which has beset the school trip to Copenhagen and bike ride to Berlin though. They were flying through Frankfurt which was brought to a complete standstill yesterday by climate protesters glueing themselves to the runway. Having turned up at school at 4am yesterday their flights were cancelled or delayed and by 9 pm last night only 35 out of a total of 100 boys and masters/Dads had been found beds in Frankfurt hotels .
Some, including GS are due to fly to Billund this morning then on to Copenhagen, SIL though is on standby for a flight at noon.
Who’d fly these days?
D was totally stressed about this yesterday as GS is only 12 but I hope once they have all arrived safely and been reunited with their luggage (!) and had a decent nights sleep they will see it as part of the excitement.
Me- I don’t do excitement and wish you a peaceful day.

Good morning from a a dry, sunny Torbay.

I’m glad you’re hearing has improved, Mick

Yesterday, I drove up to my holiday static at Whiddon Down, just to check it out before it's borrowed for a week by one of my DD2’s colleagues and her children. Unfortunately, an accident causing an oil spillage on the A38 meant I had to find a different route home, which included some typical Devon lanes with single track stretches. I survived!

Today, I’m having coffee with a neighbour who has recently retired and is enjoying the new found freedom that brings. She always waters my plants and picks up the mail when I’m away.

I hope those on holiday find blue skies and happy times, including grandMattie in Monmouth, and Bellasnana in Naples.
Kind thoughts are with those struggling with pain of any kind. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
