Glad you're safely home in Malta Bellasnana and that you had a lovely time in Naples. It must be lovely to be back with your little twins.
Still learning knowing which day it is cancelled be quite can exercise, can't it!
This latest strain of covid seems to be a lingerer litterpicker and it is so frustrating isn't it. I had one day when I felt so good - better than I've felt in years I think and quite young and spritely. It was wonderful! But it didn't last unfortunately. But I shall fondly remember what it felt like 😉. I hope you feel a lot better soon
I'm glad you enjoyed your safari to the east coast Marydoll but those trains! Their unpredictability is what keeps me in the local area.
Today I am off down to Broughty Ferry - by car of course 😉 - to take DGD3 and her boyfriend out for a late lunch to celebrate bf's 19th birthday. They're calling in to see our relatives before they (the relatives that is) return to LA next week and then coming on to meet me. I of course am just looking forward to seeing them - they're such a lovely young couple and he's a lovely young man. Definitely a 'keeper' 🤞. (As DD said, she's found the best first time!)
Anyway, off I must trot and get myself organised. Have a lovely time everyone, and enjoy summer at last x

Nice day yesterday meeting old friend/pianist and after lunch we went to see the Rockeby Venus by Velazquez on special loan from the National Gallery. We both get annoyed by the labels besides old paintings which infer meanings not meant by the artist or pc propaganda.

After a drink together we parted rather early, he was rather miserable and hasn’t been the same since his detached retina problems. Now his back is bothering him. I took home my abscessed tooth, now under control with painkillers.

My Dsister arrives from London tomorrow so I will cook a chicken in advance and fuss with her room, then a walk in the sand dunes.

However, as we were travelling light, I was restricted, but refused to forego my jars of vongole.

We are on the Glasgow train, having made it by the skin of our teeth. No more trains for an hour, when they are useually every 15 mins.
However, its the next train, which will be problematic.

Good morning from sunny West Sussex by the sea. I am finding my recovery from infection very slow and frustrating and, more worryingly, my bladder felt irritated this morning and I am headachey (that doesn’t look like a word) and backachey (ditto). Moan moan - I will drink even more gallons of water and phone the doctor tomorrow if no better.

DD and smallest GCs came over Friday and did the park and the ice cream parlour. I managed to join them by driving and parking nearby while they walked. When we got back to the house I remembered I had a long cardboard carpet tube that I had been saving to create some sort of game with. I brought it out along with some tennis balls and a Santa dog ball! The girls had a happy hour rolling the balls down the tube at various angles. The 5 year old, who never stops for a minute, was kept occupied while the 9 year old decided to practice her juggling skills with two of the balls. Peace and cooperative play never lasts for long - they are very different 😂

Yesterday I spent most of the day on the sofa but did manage to sweep the downstairs floors and later drove to M&S for a chicken for today.

It is getting hotter - I was quite happy with the cooler weather as long as the sun shines. We will give the garden a good watering and then retire. I have a book to read for my bookclub.

Marydoll, was it Valvona &Crolla you found? It’s a lovely shop. I haven’t been there for ages. Must go next time we are in Scotland.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, I have just read baubles’ post and thought ‘I wonder why she’s getting the Sunday papers on a Monday?’ I really feel quite shaken, that’s in spite of having gone to the Vigil Mass last night.
I am looking after my daughter’s dog while they are on holiday so my routine is different but that is the second time that’s happened recently.

Off for a dog walk to calm down!

Good morning from Sefton. Summer has arrived. About time too. Will dedicate today to doing the washing I couldn't get done yesterday due to the inevitable rain. First lot is 'on'. A bit of garden tidying in between loads. Lots of lush growth last week when we were away.

Good morning Mick and everyone from greyish, brightish Carlisle. No sun beating down here!
It was rather in the garden yesterday afternoon when I went out to plant my new alpines in the gravel garden. Finally there's a burst of insect life, there was a great buzzing of busy bees around me plundering the lavender and wild marjoram. I also did a lot of deadheading and lifted more of my pathetic potatoes.
I watched some of the Olympics, the women's cycling and swimming. I hadn't realised only the BBC was showing it and that in a limited way. I'm not paying for even more streaming services, I probably don't get my money's worth out of what I do subscribe to as I deliberately curtail my TV and other screen time.
Today, first a bit of exercise in the shape of a walk in the park, then back to the papers and the Olympics.

Good morning from a sunny NE. Forecast is for 21 degrees today, I may sit in the garden.
DS and GD2 came yesterday after they had been to the interior designer, GD is going to have a bedroom more suitable for a teenager with a desk and bookshelves.
Another younger cousin died yesterday, her mother in her late 90s now alone sadly.

GD played the piano after dinner, she enjoys playing Satie.
DS then played the banjo for about an hour.

Thoughts are with those recuperating.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Taking it easy all day, no plans.

One of my lovely neighbours passed me at the bus stop yesterday and gave me a lift to the shops, which I was most grateful for. Got most things that I wanted and had coffee and a cheese toastie in M&S Cafe.
Was looking forward to sitting in the garden all afternoon, but by the time I got home the sun had disappeared and it became a dull cloudy afternoon. Caught up with the newspapers and then got a couple of scones out of the freezer which I enjoyed with raspberry jam.

Sausage butty for a late breakfast, then I hope to enjoy the sunshine outdoors, and will finish my library book. Have downloaded the new read for book club onto my Kindle, so may start that this afternoon. I need to spray the pesky weeds which keep appearing between the slabs under the pergola.

Pork chop for dinner tonight..

DS will be dropping off GD & GS in an hour, DS & DiL are off to a wedding and staying over. We have the GC until tomorrow afternoon, most of the time they will be in the garden. Lots of splashing, swimming and bug hunting.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's sunny! I even managed to sleep in after a lovely long walk yesterday showing my nice young Kiwi Helper around the area. Today I shall go to my Quaker church and DS has agreed to take my helper for a round of golf. The visitor is very keen and wants to see as much of Scotland by Golf Course as he can.
Yesterday he turned my "patio" into a space resembling a patio. Today its the turn of my lawn and willow bower.
Sad for you to be bidding farewell to your DS gMattie. I know that feeling well.

Yesterday was breakfast with a friend where we put the world to rights. I had a rushed start because I couldn't find the car key anywhere. After some frantic searches, I finally looked in the pocket of jeans and there it was. Later I couldn't find my raincoat. I went back to the garden centre and it hadn't been handed in so went home in high dudgeon to see said raincoat on the couch. 🙄 I'm losing the plot. In between, I babysat the boys. Dgs1 was very argumentative but settled down and dgs2 went for a nap, so it was really easy.
Today I will head to Aldi for it opening at nine. Then I'm wielding the weedkiller on the drive. Later I'll visit mum. Chinese style chicken curry for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning. Another glorious day here. We shall stay at home because the roads will be very busy with cars heading to the seaside.

We are so lucky to have a large restful garden with shady spots as well as our well used summerhouse.

DD1 and family are in Cyprus at the end of their week’s holiday where the temperature yesterday was 39 …..much too hot for us.

They are going snorkelling with turtles today….a variation of swimming with dolphins perhaps.

Hope today is a good one whatever you plan to do.

I’ve had a really long sleep last night, last week was so busy I think it’s all catching up with me now and I was exhausted. I’m feeling much better this morning and hope to get on with the gardening.

Good morning Michael and all GNs from what is going to be a hot sunny Sunday. I am not going to be doing a lot in this heat. There’s no rain in the forecast this coming week. I’m going to have to get some water to the top garden this evening or my plants will be struggling. I have about half a water butt left to go at and then the hose will have to come out.

We’re heading back to Essex today and I’m sad to leave here.

DS1 has been watering the garden and mowing the lawn, so it will all be neat and tidy. Our neighbour also parks his car on our drive, so it looks like someone is there. He keeps an eye on things so all should be well.

Baubles, I hope your DH continues to recover.

We are off back home today. However, there is a problem with the local trains and we may be going home by a circuitous route.

We had a great day, exploring Leith. However, I felt I was holding everyone back, because I was so slow.
The highlight was finding an Italian grocer's, where after searching for an Italian liqueur for many years ( none even in Rome) they had a dozen bottles. This is an ingredient in DH's favourite Italian dessert favourite Zuppa Inglese.
DH is over the moon.
Unfortunately, despite seeing so many favourite items, we couldn't have carried them home.

This morning, I can hardly walk, but it was all worth it. Last night as we passed TKMaxx DH and SIL asked if I wanted to go in for a look. As a matter of principle, I declined because I was making a point and being twisted.😉
It is a very long story, related to a trip to Edinburgh years ago, when we got split up. The tracker showed me in TKMaxx, when I was actually having an angina attack and was sitting on a window ledge at Jenner's.
