Good morning from a beautiful, bright, sunny Torbay.

The performance of 9 to 5 went well with some outstanding singing from soloists and chorus. The theatre in Teignmouth was almost full which was good on a sunny Saturday by the sea! Torquay was busy when I came home as the Gulls had been playing a friendly match against Plymouth Argyle, which was won by the visitors.

Early church service then domestic duties beckon although the sunshine might tempt me on to the Downs.

A blessed Sunday to you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from a sunny Bristol.
We too have had real problems with tv reception last evening, together with the third power cut and consequent digging, etc., this month.
I had a surprising day yesterday. When I came home from church cleaning and coffee, I saw a message from DS inviting me to cake, then dinner. It was his 46th birthday (where has time gone?) but I didn’t expect to see him.
I tootled off to Clifton, and shared a slice of chocolate cake with the family. Island Iris were off to the pictures; DD, DS and I walked the mile to the Persian restaurant. Delicious food - Middle Eastern food is my absolute favourite.
Home by bus, I was on my usual bus route. It also meant that the AC could drink without worrying about driving me home. The power had been restored in my section, but still no tv reception. I was tired so went to bed and read.
Today, church, then DS is coming to dinner and night. He is flying back to India tomorrow first thing. Sad but expected. I have seen much less of him this time - I mustn’t be greedy.
Have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I had a lovely time in London yesterday with younger son. Lunch, the Summer Exhibition and Knickerbocker Glory at Fortnum’s!

A quieter day today. I’ve been selling things on Vinted and need to sort out my banking details. Probably strawberry crumble for pudding but I haven’t sorted out a main course yet.

OH will visit his bees today. They had produced about 70 jars of honey last week, which is currently in two enormous containers. We need to transfer it to the jars at some point.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Good morning from lovely sunny s somerset

I did a very good clean in my sewing room yesterday and suddenly there is more open space. I have made a to-do list for sewing, Next month I want to make a breathable/showerproof jacket for autumn cycling and have the fluorescent fabric ready for that

Today needs to be a long cycle ride so I will take my old e bike out, I still need to work on it as it just gives pushes when it senses that I struggle but it has a `push` limit and I do the rest.

I unearthed my stash of waxed canvas and bag-making stuff and intend to temporarily re-arrange my living room this afternoon as my other vintage sewing machine needs a spin. I have a couple of things to move so I can open the sewing cabinet ready to use. First I will need to use some basting stitches etc to ensure that the moving parts keep moving, that is why I rotate my machine usage

I quickly cut my first bag out last night, it only takes bits of the waxed canvas. Francli pocket field bag in navy, then another in pink. I find myself using my mustard francli often, when I just need to carry a card, keys and a tissue.

Have a good day

Good morning from Malta where it feels a lot hotter and more humid than it did on the outskirts of Naples.

I had an uneventful journey back although we took off an hour late so I spent more time hanging around at the airport than I did flying. It was only an hour’s flight, full of young Italians coming over to party I’m guessing.,

This morning I must collect my dog from the kennels, then the boys are coming over. I didn’t see them yesterday as I wanted to unpack, do laundry etc. I find it takes a bit of time to ease back into the normal routine after a spell away.

Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday.☀️

Good morning from dry and bright South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday I watched the livestream of the netball tournament in which my DGD was playing, it lasted all day but I dipped in and out, only watching her games. Unfortunately the team were outplayed but it was a great experience for them.

DH is doing well, exercising, elevating, icing, and walking around as much as he can. He’s managing the pain too, just needs to work on his patience now.

I’ll go to Mass and pick up the Sunday paper on my way home and I think DD may pop over at some point today, perhaps bringing a child or two with her.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a sunny mid Essex, another warm day forecast. Yesterday was a good day, pottered in the garden and half filled the wheelie bin with weeds and plants that had finished flowering & spreading seed everywhere.
Will go for a walk this morning before it gets too warm, then will pack ready for my stay at DD1’s tomorrow.
Maybe sit in the sun later, enjoying a slightly tidier garden!
Have a good day everyone, may those with worries and sadness find a little comfort.

RosesandLilac Sun 28-Jul-24 07:27:42

Good morning from sunny south Glos, it’s warm already (17°)
I had a very relaxing day yesterday, I did some tidying of the front borders, including scattering foxglove seeds from this year’s plants), cut back several perennials. Then I sorted out the lower patio in the back garden where things had been dumped while the summerhouse building is underway- the carpenter won’t be back to finish it just yet- including heaving a tub of growing runner bears. DH wasn’t around so that wasn’t the cleverest thing I did, I tweaked my back 🤬
Anyway, everything looks much tidier so I spent several hours sitting outside crocheting my throw and listening to podcasts.
DDog and I went for a late wander, all very peaceful.
Today absolutely nothing planned other than more enjoying the garden!
Have a lovely day 🌹

GrannySomerset Sun 28-Jul-24 07:30:03

Glorious morning which is probably why I am awake so early. Yesterday DGD1 and I cleared out the airing cupboard and I have a pile to go to a charity shop and two bags for the tip and I now know where everything is and can easily reach the most regularly used stuff, so a good job done. Much Olympic watching too, leisurely chatting and some eating made it a good day. Church this morning and doing teas at a church concert this afternoon which F will enjoy as a change from her normal life - or so she says!

luluaugust Sun 28-Jul-24 07:31:30

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Enjoyed a visit from DD2 yesterday along with DGD, they had been shopping for their holiday next week.
I then had a tidy up in the kitchen which I hope to finish today. Lunch and then a sit in the garden.
Best wishes

Good morning all from a sunny Edinburgh.

GM, you sound as if you had a lovely day yesterday.
Baubles, I hope your DH continues to recover.

We are off back home today. However, there is a problem with the local trains and we may be going home by a circuitous route.

We had a great day, exploring Leith. However, I felt I was holding everyone back, because I was so slow.
The highlight was finding an Italian grocer's, where after searching for an Italian liqueur for many years ( none even in Rome) they had a dozen bottles. This is an ingredient in DH's favourite Italian dessert favourite Zuppa Inglese.
DH is over the moon.
Unfortunately, despite seeing so many favourite items, we couldn't have carried them home.

This morning, I can hardly walk, but it was all worth it. Last night as we passed TKMaxx DH and SIL asked if I wanted to go in for a look. As a matter of principle, I declined because I was making a point and being twisted.😉
It is a very long story, related to a trip to Edinburgh years ago, when we got split up. The tracker showed me in TKMaxx, when I was actually having an angina attack and was sitting on a window ledge at Jenner's.

Have a good day folks and best wishes to all, who are struggling.

Bonnybanko Sun 28-Jul-24 07:48:32

Good morning all from a very bright east of Fife where the weather is meant to be hotter than yesterday.
I had a great birthday last week, the weather was beautiful my family put bunting up for my bbq party

I’m off to church this morning, once I’ve had breakfast, my dear friend is taking me

I do like my little snooze in the afternoon I’m so refreshed when I wake up and I’m needing the rest after the party last week

I think I’ll have a Chinese tonight I love Chinese food.

Have a good day my friends - keep safe

Mizuna Sun 28-Jul-24 07:50:52

Good morning from my patio in Cornwall. A sunny day ahead so I must get ahead of the heat and bus to a beach and back for a walk before the sun really starts beating down.

Gingster Sun 28-Jul-24 08:00:50

Good morning all and it’s another lovely day here in Suffolk.
We’re heading back to Essex today and I’m sad to leave here.
Back to ‘real life’. We’ll be ok once we’re ‘home’.🤞.

DS1 has been watering the garden and mowing the lawn, so it will all be neat and tidy. Our neighbour also parks his car on our drive, so it looks like someone is there. He keeps an eye on things so all should be well.

Enjoy the day 😎

Jaxjacky Sun 28-Jul-24 08:05:48

Morning from sunny S Hants.
A lovely surprise gMattie, welcome home Bellasnana.
Grandson is up and ready in his football kit, he doesn’t go until 12!
A quiet day ahead, a walk before the heat kicks in, meat draw at 5, chicken lemon, garlic and potato tray bake for dinner.

Greyduster Sun 28-Jul-24 08:08:46

Good morning Michael and all GNs from what is going to be a hot sunny Sunday. I am not going to be doing a lot in this heat. There’s no rain in the forecast this coming week. I’m going to have to get some water to the top garden this evening or my plants will be struggling. I have about half a water butt left to go at and then the hose will have to come out.
Have the best day you can folks.

brook2704 Sun 28-Jul-24 08:10:27

Good morning everyone from Inverness, where it’s a cloudy start to the day but warm, yesterday was lovely so hoping for more of the same today
I’ve had a really long sleep last night, last week was so busy I think it’s all catching up with me now and I was exhausted. I’m feeling much better this morning and hope to get on with the gardening.
Good to hear your DH is doing so well Baubles
Pleased you’re back home safely Bellasnana, I bet the little boys have missed you!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

kittylester Sun 28-Jul-24 08:12:18

Good morning all from a very bright and sunny North Leicestershire.

A gentle day today. I really need to change the bed today. blush And I will make some gf cheese rolls.

Have the best day possible all.

Liberty Sun 28-Jul-24 08:21:00

Good morning. Another glorious day here. We shall stay at home because the roads will be very busy with cars heading to the seaside.

We are so lucky to have a large restful garden with shady spots as well as our well used summerhouse.

DD1 and family are in Cyprus at the end of their week’s holiday where the temperature yesterday was 39 …..much too hot for us.

They are going snorkelling with turtles today….a variation of swimming with dolphins perhaps.

Hope today is a good one whatever you plan to do.

Grandmabatty Sun 28-Jul-24 08:25:22

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and sunny. Hooray!! Bellasnana glad to hear that you are home safely. GrandMattie what a nice surprise for you. Marydoll I hope the trains don't take too much of a diversion!
Yesterday was breakfast with a friend where we put the world to rights. I had a rushed start because I couldn't find the car key anywhere. After some frantic searches, I finally looked in the pocket of jeans and there it was. Later I couldn't find my raincoat. I went back to the garden centre and it hadn't been handed in so went home in high dudgeon to see said raincoat on the couch. 🙄 I'm losing the plot. In between, I babysat the boys. Dgs1 was very argumentative but settled down and dgs2 went for a nap, so it was really easy.
Today I will head to Aldi for it opening at nine. Then I'm wielding the weedkiller on the drive. Later I'll visit mum. Chinese style chicken curry for dinner. Have a good day all.

RosiesMaw2 Sun 28-Jul-24 08:46:28

Good morning all - glorious day here too.
Of to London in a bit to see D3, SIL and the wee boys for lunch. I suspect a trip to the park will feature too. Fortunately their house is long and cool ! I haven’t seen them for 6 weeks or more and I expect littlest fella (3 in September) will be chattering away 19 to the proverbial!
Wishing you all a pleasant day .

Grammaretto Sun 28-Jul-24 08:52:32

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's sunny! I even managed to sleep in after a lovely long walk yesterday showing my nice young Kiwi Helper around the area. Today I shall go to my Quaker church and DS has agreed to take my helper for a round of golf. The visitor is very keen and wants to see as much of Scotland by Golf Course as he can.
Yesterday he turned my "patio" into a space resembling a patio. Today its the turn of my lawn and willow bower.
Sad for you to be bidding farewell to your DS gMattie. I know that feeling well.

Have the best day possible everyone.
Glad Edinburgh was a success for you Marydoll

GrannyGravy13 Sun 28-Jul-24 08:53:15

Morning everyone from a sunny S E Essex.

DS will be dropping off GD & GS in an hour, DS & DiL are off to a wedding and staying over. We have the GC until tomorrow afternoon, most of the time they will be in the garden. Lots of splashing, swimming and bug hunting.
BBQ later in the afternoon.

Have a peaceful Sunday 🙋‍♀️
