I love reading Mizuna's posts in the morning. As a child 70 years ago we drove from Kent to Cornwall for our summer holiday even though we lived by the sea. And I remember clearly staying in a bed and breakfast in Polperro at the back of the town/village so my little attic bedroom window painted blue and white looked down over roof tops to the sea. Magical. So I imagine Mizuna's windows look over something similar and love the idea of a bus to the beach. In fact any mention of beach walks, or bunting or cafes next door serving the best coffee has me there as well. I can see karmalady cycling narrow country flower edged lanes and Mick on his bus trips to meet up with friends.
For various reasons my world is a bit restricted for the time being, but reading sunny summer time posts is a great boost. Thank you all.
what beautiful houses
I live on the outskirts of London, A very famous school is close by but a hard uphill walk (for me). Very close to Heathrow but sitting in my house is like living in the country because there is rarely a sound. Luckily we are not on a flight path for Heathrow or the military planes returning to the local airport.
The best of everything, buses every 2 minutes and the tube on the whole is good.
Very nice kitty! It never dates does it?
I have been unable to attach my photos, everytime it says "too large", and I have been cropping and editing to no avail. But it has been a pleasure looking at all the beautiful areas that you are staying in.

Joseann is that in the UK? It's beautiful. How lucky you are. I love the sound on the beach as well. It's unmistakeable. And mango ice cream.
Devon, HelterSkelter1. The beach was busy this afternoon, but nothing like some crowded resorts. 🍦 for you Aveline.
We are indeed all very lucky in this country.
photos grr
I’ve no idea why all my phots are coming up as too large to post today.
I’m in the Algarve inland, beautiful countryside and about 10 miles from the sea.

looks lovely Joseann. Put me down for one of those ice creams too!
What a lovely view Aveline
We had lovely views when we lived in Devon but not so much here, although it's very pleasant and we are on the edge of lovely countryside. The river's not the same as the coast.
I can see a fence and a natural hedge 😃
I live in Derby but a few minutes out and am in beautiful countryside and the Peak District. Can go from lush valley to bleak moorland very quickly. The seaside feel can be had by a quick trip to Matlock Bath. Then there are several reservoirs locally too so I love where I live. For seaside my happy place is Cromer in Norfolk, I just feel so relaxed there. Lovely to have a chance to imagine where we all live.
Hollysteers. If your lovely dunes are in the St Annes dunes stretch, I have just watched a short video and read about them with my early coffee. Hooray for the internet.
What a fantastic place to live. Thank you for the pictures.
What a beautiful world we live in!
brake not break
We always spent our holidays on the Lizard peninsular in Cornwall with my aunt, uncle, cousins and grandad. They travelled from the midlands and Bath. We travelled from Plymouth.
Dad built a trailer to take everything we needed. Our little Austin A40 was packed to the gunnels as well. The back seats went flat and all the bedding and soft things were laid on top. Almost last were three nylon sleeping bags, opened up, nylon to nylon. Then there was me, laid flat on top (with very little headroom) with a comic and a bag of sweets. Lord knows what would have happened if we had needed to break hard. I would have shot straight through the windscreen!
Our pink frame tent was always the talking point of the campsite! Dads brother and his wife had gone to the caravan and camping exhibition in Earls Court with the intention of buying themselves a new tent. Letters were exchanged beforehand and a postal order enclosed. They had been tasked with finding us a new tent as well, but our budget wasn't as big so we ended up with an ex-demo/show model, hence the garish shade of pink!
Grandad stayed at a nearby farmhouse B&B. Every year there were always a new litter of kittens to go and make a fuss of.
There were the same things to look forward to every year.
'Going on safari' meant taking the longer more bumpy route on an unmade road out of the campsite to the main road. Lord knows what it did to the car suspension!
Visiting a private beach that was for the sole use of the hotel patrons. Having a pint and a pasty in the hotel bar beforehand meant we counted as 'patrons' and could use the beach.
If it rained that meant a visit to the local town. For a long time I thought it always rained when we went there, now I know it's because it rained that we went there!
Going to peer over the cliffs at Porthcurno to see the wreck of the Torrey Canyon on the rocks below.
Scraping an oil blob off our feet after a day at the beach. My feet were very ticklish so this was torture....
Visiting Church Cove and reading the gravestones of young men who had lost their lives at sea.
Going to the Culdrose Airshow which always coincided with our holiday.
Going to the Telstar Cafe at Goonhilly for an egg and chips
tea.
Visiting Marazion Bay (I learnt to swim there one year).
Saving my pocket money so I could buy a new Wade Whimsie from the campsite shop. Several shop visits were required before I could make up my mind which one to buy. My cousin Mike used to get fed up with my indecision, but he always said yes when I asked him to come with me.
It felt like we did this every year of my childhood, but in reality it was only for about five consecutive years.
Oh happy days

I love those dunes hollysteers. Which county?
Lancashire
I live just about as far away from the sea as it's possible to get, in a large bustling village but we get some brilliant views too.
