I am still waiting for exam results here, DGS discovered this morning that he hadn’t registered properly for results by text so the wait goes on! I hope the post is more reliable in Connel than it is here!

Somehow the morning is running away with me so I’ll just wish everyone a good day, I must get organised!, (my ipse digit)

Good morning from cloudy West Sussex. No sign of rain.

I managed to set back my recovery from pyelonephritis by falling face down on to the paving in the back garden on Saturday 🤕. No major harm done but a cut above my eyebrow which wouldn’t stop bleeding. Poor DH struggled to stick down the steristrips. The paving looked like a crime scene.

Just had news of Scottish DGSs National 5 results. They did well, especially, given their challenges of autism and severe dyslexia. Having support during the exams with reading out of the questions and ‘scribing’ has helped a lot. I hope the other Scottish grandchildren have good news.

I’m glad the rain has stopped in Skye, Grammaretto. Don’t work too hard!

Sorry to hear Baubles has been in hospital. Hope you recover fully. Your DH too!

I’m crying off our church-run dementia friendly cafe today. DH will go. We haven’t had many people coming recently. Maybe once a month is not often enough but sadly there are not enough volunteers to do more. I will potter at home (but maybe just sit in the garden if the sun breaks through).

Voluntary phone yesterday involved a safeguarding issue that took a while for our chair to address and I picked up a sad call, so many have no family or friends to help them.
We were appalling at quiz, I’ll blame our absent team member.
No real plans today which means I can avoid housework no longer.

Good morning everyone from a dull and damp Northampton; we have had rain overnight, but it is forecast to clear up later.

A busy day yesterday: yoga first thing, towels and bedding washed and dried on the line; a good hoovering downstairs; and a good amount of the edges trimmed around my back lawn. A lot of edges to do as lots of paved areas and paths to go round. Next time my gardener comes I think I shall ask him to strim them.

Panic mid afternoon as my pedigree indoor cats made a bid for freedom and escaped into the garden after I failed to shut the back door properly! A few heart-stopping moments - they are not street-wise cats and only usually go out well supervised and with walking jackets on. They had a good explore for half an hour or so, and were eventually persuaded to return indoors. Luckily it never occurs to them to scale the fence and they just seem to treat the garden as an outside room.

This morning I need to wash and dry my mattress topper, then remake the bed. An early lunch then out to join my walking group.
Easy dinner, a home-made chilli from the freezer, just need to cook some rice, then settle down to watch more Olympics.

Lots of 'busyness' going on today so I will wish everyone a good day.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday the sun didn't win out and it was heavy cloud all day which finally rained out in the evening.
I did get out in the garden after lunch and did a bit of renovation work and planting in my gravel garden. I still have a few plants to go in and am rather puzzled about where they might fit.
Today, a bit of laundry, more housework and some necessary admin. Maybe a walk....the farmer has moved stock into the nearby fields and I'm keen to inspect them. Plus I need a walk, my boys have been lecturing me on the necessity!

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Quiet day yesterday as the back was complaining after my long day out on Sunday.
In bed last night after I turned the light out, I felt something behind me just like the cat’s rhythmic pawing and I even spoke to her, but she wasn’t there and in fact had been out all night and I don’t have a cat flap. Rather strange and not the first time either.

Tonight I go to hear DGD sing and DS accompany her on guitar. Tomorrow to the south to stay with DD for a few days.

Good morning all from the Isle of Skye. What a change from the weekend. Warm sunshine yesterday with a walk to the beach. My Gaelic course is quite intensive but I am surviving, just.
Tonight there's to be a concert. Last night a pub quiz.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk and no rain now for at least 10 days.

We had a lovely long chat with our boiler engineer yesterday. We’ve known him for at least 15 years and he usually brings his dog,presently a youn black Labrador, with him in his van. No dog yesterday! She is staying with his father because he has 1 week old baby boy. Normally he is a typical Suffolk born man,quietly getting on with his job in a purposeful way.

Yesterday his visit was an hour and a half whereas normally it is no more than 40 mins. He was so animated and regaled us with every detail of his baby’s life since his wife’s labour began. DH remembered from our children’s’ births,the last one 41+ years ago,how the rush of adrenaline k because of he thrill of a newborn kept him going for days. So lovely to share.

Following DH later this morning to a Halfords garage about 23 miles away so his car can have new brakes fitted.I’ll bring him home and then take him back late afternoon to collect his car. I’ll expect coffee and cake for the lifts!!

Hope those on holiday have a great time and Urms you can contain your excitement about yours til tomorrow. Thinking of those who have worries and illness to contend with.

More things to take to charity shop gradually decluttering bit by bit, have also got DH to do some clearing of the bits he keeps that will come in useful but never do.

Bed changing and consequent washing, supermarket shop and visit to a friend make for what passes for a full day here so had better get started. Temperature much more comfortable at last so feel a bit less lethargic. There is no pleasing me these days.

Good morning from Henley where we moored up yesterday afternoon.
We had an engine problem last week, I won't bore you with the details, but were stuck in one place, Bournes End, until it was fixed on Saturday.
Today we are going on to Sonning if it doesn't rain too much.
From Thursday/Friday we will start the long journey home, hoping to arrive around the 20th.
The Thames is beautiful, but I'm not a fan of the locks, I've lost count of the number we have gone through.
I've not posted much lately but I read every day.

Good morning all and its going to be another very warm one here in Essex. Yesterday got hotter and hotter and by teatime I felt quite drained. . I’m envious of those who are cooler and I’d love some rain. 🙄. The south east seems to be hanging on to the heat. 🥵.

Yesterday was dgd4’s 10th birthday. She’s a real young lady .

I had a good clear out of my clothes and old toys that have been outgrown , so a trip to the charity shop this morning. Dh won’t let me throw anything of his away. He has far more clothes than I , but always wears the same old things. 🙄. I wondered if I could just take a few things off his rail, but I know he would notice.

This afternoon I have Bridge club and it should be cool in the hall. I might go again this evening. See how the old brain cells feel. 🤯. Dh and ds1 are going to footie .

Good morning from a sunny W Kent, cloud predicted for later. Huge amount of ironing to be done first thing and then a DF is coming for tea. DD2 has arrived safely in Italy although they had a 2 1/2 hour wait on the tarmac due to a faulty door.
I enjoy reading about all the goings on with the young GC brings back happy memories

Good morning from a sunny NE already 17 degrees.
Yesterday was a perfect washing day, I got everything out on the line in the garden and they dried quickly. I was able to get the ironing done too before sitting down for the evening.
Decided not to put the duvet on last night so just put the cover on the bed, slept better.
My elder sister says she will visit today, she enjoys telling me about all the outings she has been on. She is five years older than me but much more mobile.

We’re looking after DGD this morning and then dropping her off at a holiday club after lunch. DGS is at a basketball camp this week so he’s keeping busy. Later today I’m meeting my pal for coffee and a good catch up so looking forward to that

Good morning from Durham. Not a cloud in the sky and the promise of a 21 degrees sunny day.
Productive afternoon yesterday and finally got broadband and a new Sky contract sorted. Later the roof men called and then emailed an estimate - they’re recommended by a neighbour, but the DDs think I should get an other quotes to compare.
This morning coffee and lunch with a friend at a local garden centre, then I’ll contact a couple of roofing companies to quote for the work.
I expect I’ll have to water my tubs and baskets later.
Safe travels Urms one of my favourite places too.

Elder son, his partner and our granddaughter arrived in time for dinner last night. As requested by granddaughter, I had made meatballs and pasta - her favourite,
We spent the rest of the evening playing Scrabble.
They are staying for a week. They are having a new bathroom fitted and everywhere painted. They stayed with friends last week and I think they’re staying with other friends next week. Son can work from home. His partner will pop up to London now and again.
