Good morning from a grey Bristol. Apart from very, very light l drizzle for a few odd moments, we haven’t had any rain. Yet. It’s forecast for tomorrow. I’m so glad the temperatures are now more tolerable.
I got a whole load of vegetables from Tesco to make piccalilli as I realised my mature stocks are very low - 6 weeks from cooking to be edible. I prepared them yesterday, salted overnight, cook and pot today. It is very popular in the church.
I did a load of horrible administration jobs, mostly ongoing things but are done for the moment.
Today I’ve got outdoor tai chi, and then I’ll finish the piccalilli.

Good morning from s somerset, it will be a nice sunny cloudy day and thankfully some rain came early today

Lovely day yesterday and did lots varying from mundane to craft group to sewing to sorting some nightwear

Today I want to work on my trackie trouser pattern, just the pattern for now as I have to adjust from their model size 5`8 to my size of 4`10. The stage after that has to be a toile, roughly sewn to check the fit. A couple of hours will do

I think I will be doing a walk later and I like the one around town outskirts, it involves a hill and is pretty and not too long so is not boring, with lots of hollyhocks, hydrangeas, ancient houses big and small etc. Organic delivery of veg and bits will be arriving too, at least the fridge is clean and has space

Craft group was lovely again yesterday, all of us agreeing that it is lovely to live in a quiet, community-driven backwater market town

Good morning! It’s drizzling here in south Glos, very welcome for the garden.
I sorted out the watercolour paints and paper I need to start an online course so I look forward to that, something different. I actually have signed up and paid for several different ones , I just need to actually make myself sit down and do them!
I had a lovely chat and cup of tea with a friend yesterday, while cuddling her 7 months old springer spaniel. He’s absolutely adorable 🥰
DS and DGS1 are having a wonderful cycling trip in Slovenia, the scenery looks amazing. By the time they return to his in-laws home they will have covered 700kms and over 3000m of climbing. It’s a wonderful that they can have these adventures; last yeah they did a ride from Vienna to Venice - DGS1 was only 9!
They’re camping and last night the site was by a lake (had a swim) surrounded by mountains.
DGS2 is having fun with DDIL, doing lots of swimming and enjoying playing with friends they’ve made in Italy, he isn’t as keen on cycling as his brother.
They’re a very active outdoor family, DDIL goes cold water swimming all year round- that has included breaking the ice on the Thames near where they live!

Yesterday was a morning of soft play with the boys. It was incredibly busy right from the start but the boys enjoyed themselves.
Today will be a quieter day with them. My sciatica is bothering me at the moment and spending hours in a park is no fun, so it'll be a day in the garden I think. I'll make buttermilk pancakes for breakfast. Dinner will be out of the freezer. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Malta where the temp is in the high 30’s.

Yesterday I went to buy some toys for the boys to have when they come to my house, then took myself for a coffee. Later, went with DD3 to pick the boys up then stayed all afternoon until they woke from their nap and we all went to the supermarket! First time we had taken both boys but they were pretty good sitting in the trolleys and got a lot of attention from other shoppers!

I was exhausted by the time I got home and unpacked my shopping, so had an evening of doing very little.

No plans today apart from cleaning my front steps before the sun comes around. I have also got a bit of ironing which I’ll do with the a/c on.

Don’t know how I did it back in the 80’s and 90’s when my children were growing up as a/c did not exist in homes or cars for some time. We survived though!

Sorry to hear you are suffering with sciatica Grandmabatty, you are so good keeping your boys entertained when you are in pain.

Good morning all the suns starting to rise here on the east coast of Fife. It promises to be a sunny and warm day.
Yesterday the gas man came. he put a new gas metre and a new electric metre into my old house saying I’ll no longer need to send in any more metre readings. He tidied up well before he left. I gave him a drink of coke and a tunnocks caramel waver before he left, he was in for hrs. Good old Scottish gas I’m well happy

Good morning everyone from a mild but damp south Manchester as it rained a good bit during the night. Alexa tells me it’s 15°C currently and will rise to 21°C later.

I need to pop our passports, my sunglasses and medication into my cross body bag later for the airport tomorrow and book a taxi for 10am. My iPad, kindle and small amount of make up will go in the grip bag that Himself will carry with his bits and bobs.

I shall have a quick vacuum round, whizz the mop round with a disposable Flash pad and put the sheet and pillow cases in to wash - I do like to come home to fresh bedding!

Our friendly neighbours have invited us round for a drink late afternoon. They are back from their holidays - they are ten years older than us, full of beans and great company. It will be nice to catch up and I think they’ll be pleasantly surprised to see how well Himself looks now. 😊

Morning all from a muggy West Oxfordshire.

Elder son, his partner and our granddaughter arrived in time for dinner last night. As requested by granddaughter, I had made meatballs and pasta - her favourite,
We spent the rest of the evening playing Scrabble.
They are staying for a week. They are having a new bathroom fitted and everywhere painted. They stayed with friends last week and I think they’re staying with other friends next week. Son can work from home. His partner will pop up to London now and again.

Good morning from Durham. Not a cloud in the sky and the promise of a 21 degrees sunny day.
Productive afternoon yesterday and finally got broadband and a new Sky contract sorted. Later the roof men called and then emailed an estimate - they’re recommended by a neighbour, but the DDs think I should get an other quotes to compare.
This morning coffee and lunch with a friend at a local garden centre, then I’ll contact a couple of roofing companies to quote for the work.
I expect I’ll have to water my tubs and baskets later.
Safe travels Urms one of my favourite places too.

Good morning from a sunny NE already 17 degrees.
Yesterday was a perfect washing day, I got everything out on the line in the garden and they dried quickly. I was able to get the ironing done too before sitting down for the evening.
Decided not to put the duvet on last night so just put the cover on the bed, slept better.
My elder sister says she will visit today, she enjoys telling me about all the outings she has been on. She is five years older than me but much more mobile.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent, cloud predicted for later. Huge amount of ironing to be done first thing and then a DF is coming for tea. DD2 has arrived safely in Italy although they had a 2 1/2 hour wait on the tarmac due to a faulty door.

Good morning all and its going to be another very warm one here in Essex. Yesterday got hotter and hotter and by teatime I felt quite drained. . I’m envious of those who are cooler and I’d love some rain. 🙄. The south east seems to be hanging on to the heat. 🥵.

Yesterday was dgd4’s 10th birthday. She’s a real young lady .

I had a good clear out of my clothes and old toys that have been outgrown , so a trip to the charity shop this morning. Dh won’t let me throw anything of his away. He has far more clothes than I , but always wears the same old things. 🙄. I wondered if I could just take a few things off his rail, but I know he would notice.

This afternoon I have Bridge club and it should be cool in the hall. I might go again this evening. See how the old brain cells feel. 🤯. Dh and ds1 are going to footie .

Good morning from Henley where we moored up yesterday afternoon.
We had an engine problem last week, I won't bore you with the details, but were stuck in one place, Bournes End, until it was fixed on Saturday.
Today we are going on to Sonning if it doesn't rain too much.
From Thursday/Friday we will start the long journey home, hoping to arrive around the 20th.
The Thames is beautiful, but I'm not a fan of the locks, I've lost count of the number we have gone through.
I've not posted much lately but I read every day.

Bed changing and consequent washing, supermarket shop and visit to a friend make for what passes for a full day here so had better get started. Temperature much more comfortable at last so feel a bit less lethargic. There is no pleasing me these days.

More things to take to charity shop gradually decluttering bit by bit, have also got DH to do some clearing of the bits he keeps that will come in useful but never do.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk and no rain now for at least 10 days.

We had a lovely long chat with our boiler engineer yesterday. We’ve known him for at least 15 years and he usually brings his dog,presently a youn black Labrador, with him in his van. No dog yesterday! She is staying with his father because he has 1 week old baby boy. Normally he is a typical Suffolk born man,quietly getting on with his job in a purposeful way.

Yesterday his visit was an hour and a half whereas normally it is no more than 40 mins. He was so animated and regaled us with every detail of his baby’s life since his wife’s labour began. DH remembered from our children’s’ births,the last one 41+ years ago,how the rush of adrenaline k because of he thrill of a newborn kept him going for days. So lovely to share.

Following DH later this morning to a Halfords garage about 23 miles away so his car can have new brakes fitted.I’ll bring him home and then take him back late afternoon to collect his car. I’ll expect coffee and cake for the lifts!!
