Welcome! Thank you all for making our Kitchen a super-special gathering place.
Enjoy!
and hugs galore.
brook green with envy!! Just my sort of holiday ........... Enjoy!
Brook what a nice view. I have made soda bread and had a slice with butter. I've also made a victoria sponge and will fill it with homemade raspberry jam once it's cooled down. I might make peanut butter cookies later and that will fulfil all my baking needs for today
Oh brook that looks idyllic. A wet and windy day here, my back slowly improves but is rather debilitating.
Pretty as a picture llfl tasty too I’ll bet as will be your cakes Grandmabatty.
Good you’re nearly sorted SueD our garden looks a little sad now, I need to plan some autumn colour for next year. I can plan while I do little else.
Imogen passed her GCSE’s with much relief, between her epilepsy and autism it’s been a difficult road, I hope all of your grandchildren had happy results too.
I am comforted by all your kind words and much appreciated hugs. Bless you all.
Jaxjacky well done Imogen!!
A very big well done to Imogen Jax she’s done so well, I wish her all the very best for the future!
Also well done to all the other DGC celebrating results today 👏
Soop ❤️ for you and MrSoop
brook that is a lovely view!
jax well done to Imogen, and well done to all the other DGC getting their results today.
soop I do hope that you don’t have to wait too long for the decision on action to be taken regarding mr soop’s poor head.
DD2 and the granddaughters have now gone home after their sleepover here last night. I think my daughter spent some time on the floor while the 6 year old and 20 month old occupied a 5 ft bed! The house is very quiet now, apart from the howling wind rattling the fence!
No rain though, so I’ll have to water the vulnerable plants in a little while.
I hope everyone has a pleasant evening.
Our gorgeous GC (autistic) got good GCSE results, he now has to decide on his 6th Form course. He is not sure what to do, and really would much rather leave and carry on a with developing his computer game business.
It has been so windy and grey here today, the leaves are beginning to cover the lawn, we did have a brief shower first thing but no more since.
I am cooking fish and chips for dinner later.
Lovely photo brook2704 I am envious.
Enjoy your evening whatever you are doing.
(((Hugs))) to the soops along with our kitchen friends with troubles or illness 💐
Congratulation Imogen 👏👏👏
Jax. Well done to Imogen.. That's a lot to overcome bless her. She should be very proud of herself.
I hope your back improves soon. Pain is so debilitating.
LlFL...can I join your WI?...I don't mind travelling if that's the kind of cream tea on offer 😂😂
Lots of home baking going on in the kitchen just now..I was given a big bag of cooking apples and rhubarb so a crumble is in view. I've got some plums and pears so when the Wirral cousins leave on Sunday the chutney making will begin...it should be ready for Christmas along with the spiced pickled pears that are just lush with a blue cheese.
Brook... I'm with Mrshat and very jealous....enjoy.
Grandmabatty...I love soda bread and also Rachel Allen's recipe for brown bread ( it's her Dad's actually)...lots of good things in it like wheatgerm and bran and pinhead oatmeal too.
Redcar...I hope the plants survive...and the fence too.
Soop you are always there for us...it's our turn to be there for you as you want for news about the next step for Mr Soop. Love to you both.
I've been given my first placement for the charity I have volunteered for....I can't obviously put details but it will involve lots of cuddling a new born baby....I think I can manage that.... I've missed being a happy hen.
Well done to your DGS GG13 and hope he does well in the future with his computer game business 👏
Grannygravy well done to your dgs!
Thank you all and many congratulations to your budding entrepreneur GG13.
It’s still raining and very windy, I’ve sent MrJ down the pub (must I he protested not), with about 5 courgette's and four cucumbers to give away. My tomatoes are sooo slow in turning, I’ve had a measly four so far, they’ll be chutney at this rate neine
Hugs to the soops and others having a tough time.
Oops...couldn't go far enough back on posts to see GGravy13...so congratulations to your DGS.
Evening everyone.
Many congratulations to Imogen and Grannygravys grandson on GCSE results and to any other GC. Relief all around I’m sure.
Sending a big virtual hug to dear soop as you await decisions for Mr Soop.
Lovely photo brook I remember it well. Have you tried a Pomada the local drink. It’s very refreshing 😀
Today I had a medical appointment first thing and then later this afternoon we looked after little GD as her parents were at a family funeral on DILs side. GD was no trouble as she always is it’s just when she’s with her brother!
I’ve just had my last drink before bed. I could fancy something to eat with it but refrained after we have just watched the program by the late Michael Mosley with lots of info on avoiding strokes, high bp etc. We know a lot of this info but he explains it so well and it makes you think.
On that note I’ll say night all.
Congratulations to the Gransnet grandchildren in their exams! I think the most important thing for them is that they have such supportive parents and GP’s in their lives. ❤️
Sending love and thoughts your way, Soop. Xx
We’ve had a decent day weatherwise, breezy but sunny and warm. This summer has taken its toll on the garden though, everything is all ruffled up and awry, including my hair.
I picked enough runner beans for a couple of meals and now I’ll need to pull up the plants and think of what to plant next in the trug. It’s been a quiet day otherwise, which I’ve rather enjoyed.
Oops...couldn't go far enough back on posts to see GGravy13...so congratulations to your DGS.
Well done to all the grandchildren that have had pleasing exam results. Our wee man has also got A*s. So well deserved.
Friends invited us for lunch. Their company is truly uplifting. We thoroughly enjoyed the banter and laughter.
Mr Soop had his scalp dressing changed by the GP this afternoon. GP has been notified that the team have elected that he is to have further surgery. We now await further details.
My love and every good wish to you all for a pleasant and peaceful weekend.

At least you know now soop I hope you get the details soon x
My back is easing, I can stand up straightish now 🙂 another ‘not done much day’ apart from garden planning for next year. MrJ is on dinner duty for night no3, I could get used to this! He’s been for our usual Friday pub catch up, I’m just having a 🥂 at home.
Enjoy your evenings.
Naughtyneine, have you tried “High Humpsie Deary” jam. It’s made the usual way, but using equal amounts of apple, pear and plum. Delicious,,,
soop I hope you get further details about mr soops surgery soon.
jax good that your back is easing a little, take it easy for a bit longer to make sure it’s really better.
The gale force wind has dropped now thank goodness and we had a little rain this morning, more is forecast for tomorrow. I spent some time this morning cutting down the huge hollyhocks which had blown down and were squashing lots of smaller plants. The hollyhocks only had one or two flowers left at the top, the rest of the stalks have seed heads on them and I don’t need any more plants. The ones that had blown down were 12 feet tall - spectacular but vulnerable in the wind.
The dwarf bean plants have just about stopped producing beans, so I will have to take them out of the trough soon. I’m picking tomatoes every day. The fence did survive the gale neine I think it’s meant to rattle! Good luck with your first placement with your charity, enjoy cuddling the new born.
Enjoy your evening everyone.
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people. 🥰
Welcome, grandmattie, how lovely to see you in the Kitchen. Your jam with the amazing name sounds fantastic!
Many congratulations to Imogen, GG's grandson, Soop's wee man and all the DGC who have worked hard and achieved great results.
Ladyleftfieldlover and Grandmabatty, I am in awe of your baking skills, your cakes look and sound absolutely delicious.
Enjoy those baby cuddles, Neine, good luck with your new volunteering role.
Glad to hear that a decision has been made, Soop. Wishing MrSoop speedy, skilled and successful surgery.
What a beautiful view, brook, relax and enjoy every minute of your holidays.
Sorry to hear about your back, Jaxjacky, hope it improves very soon.
Well, my wonky knee behaved itself this afternoon as DH and I walked 20 minutes each way to collect the Wee Boy from school, first time for us. DH was on his mobility scooter, the Wee Boy was on his flashing lights scooter, I was the only one on Shanks' pony!! He's had a great first week at school, met us with smiles and chat, played well when we got home. So far so good 🤞
Wishing everyone a peaceful Friday evening and a good weekend. TOYA, NNGB.
