I love this picture. I first spotted it at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2021 but didn’t buy it. It is now far too expensive so I bought a greetings card version and here it is. Four feminists in a canoe with their cat.

It’s been a glorious day, I’ve been garden pottering and my fingers are filthy from weeding, avoiding the bees and I’ve seen more wasps today, MrJ is on sausage and mash duty.
We sat outside at our local earlier, well, I don’t sit much, I flit about chatting! It was very convivial, a couple of shandies and a catch up.
I hope Urms and himself have had a great week with their family.
I’m also thinking of NannyG4 who may well be exhausted today, hugs to you.

Hello kitchen people. OH has just gone to the bus stop in the next village to pick up elder son and granddaughter. They’ve spent the day in Oxford. Granddaughter hasn’t been on a bus much. Her mum is in London for a couple of days checking on the new bathroom and working.

I had a migraine earlier. I don’t have as many now 🤞 . I took a triptan but they leave me feeling drained.

A quiet day is planned at the Soopery. I may feel the urge to pedal my bike to no place in particular. Once in the saddle I feel duty bound to pedal for the full thirty minutes. Shall I begin right this minute? Watch this space.

Hope everyone has a calm and relaxing weekend, we are titivating the house up ready for sale.
Had fish and chips for dinner yesterday, at a local pub. Was not v nice, greasy and could taste cheap cooking oil, of course paid the price in the night.

Good afternoon, Soop and lovely Kitchen people.

Back home now after a very early start , drove down the motorway to see The Wee Boy starting school. We had breakfast together, he was his happy wee self and not at all anxious ( that's just me!) He looked very smart in his uniform and blazer, and decided to go on his scooter to school! It's a good 15/20 minute walk, so he enjoyed that.
The three Primary One classrooms had red carpet and Welcome balloons at their entrances, so there was a good natured queue for the special Kodak moments. We've got lots of happy photos, I can only post the one with the back view!
When his teacher opened the doors, he ran up to her and said, " Good morning, Miss P.", he'd been practising!. 🤣 I hope he has a good day, strange starting on a Friday.

I was pleased to manage the walks to/from school, got my knee elevated with the frozen peas now. I'm looking forward to Bookgroup with my sisters and friends this evening. The venue is our local Indian restaurant and we're reviewing My Father's House by Joseph O'Connor, brother of the late Sinead. It's a well written fictional retelling of the actual events of the occupation of Rome during WW2, portrayed in the old film The Scarlet and the Black. Very interesting reading.

It’s really windy here today, it’s dry and sunny but the wind is quite cold. I’m just back home from DD2s with a car load of things to either try to sell or donate. Sorting through it all will definitely keep me busy this afternoon
