Prayers for Yia and her DH as we hope for encouraging news in the days to come. The waiting is so hard as is staying positive when you aren’t.

Yia your DH has been so brave, he will be sleeping soundly within a few hours and hopefully with a positive outcome. It was very worrying for you because there is zilch you can do except be there for him.

soop Mr Soop must be in a lot of pain, a painful area on which to operate.

Although lightly raining here at least we do not have the awful floods like last week.

May I ask that you lot stop dumping your washing here? I am now 81 and I can only cope with my own. Where it all comes from is beyond me. Probably back to my boarding school days, a pair of knickers and a blouse weekly!

We got back from our week away it was a welcome break ,we thought we may not get back ferries were cancelled on Thursday due to wind and heavy rain , luckily weather improved.

I’m coming out of the quiet corner for a change. Had a busy day starting with dgd arriving at 7.45 then after seeing her to school I had a hair appointment to have it coloured ready for my trip to Kinross on Thursday with my sister in law. We stay with her sister and we hope to spend some time in Perth to visit the new museum. It seems a long time since I’ve had something to repot on.
I’ve also just had a long chat with dd1. She rang to tell me she’s just bought a heated throw and insists I must buy one as well. Says it will help with my arthritic joints over the coming winter as she ‘worries about your old bones in the cold’ !! At least she made me laugh.
Glad you’re enjoying your happy place, fgt. Thinking of yia and her husband and those with mountains to climb.
I’ll go back to that comfortable corner now and enjoy a glass of 🍷.

Wet morning and showery afternoon so no gardening today for me, and no inclination to do any more tidying in the garage either. I did go for a walk to post a letter, so that was my breath of fresh air for the day.
Yesterday I went to DD2’s for a roast dinner, which was very tasty, and good to have both daughters and families together. The downside was having to drive home in the dark - first time since March, but fortunately not much traffic.

Still enjoying our holiday here LLFL thank you for your good wishes. The weather is amazing and set to last all week. Lucky us.

We had thought this morning we might go down to the marina to eat this evening but we decided we couldn’t be bothered. Had a glass of vino tinto frio at the garden bar (the locals are still down there now, playing pool and enjoying drinks with the neighbours in the soft yellow lights of the bar) came up for showers and I made pasta. Easio.

A little HANI light is on our balcony table now we’ve eaten. It suddenly goes dark around 8:30pm. Another wine poured for me, a delicious soft Ribera reserva. I loaded a novel onto my Kindle this afternoon so that’s me set for an hour or so.

Hi kitchen pals, the weather has been ok here today, not windy or too cold with on and off sunshine this afternoon. I was out in town this morning and then gardening this afternoon. The acer has gorgeous colours at this time of the year, it won’t be long before all the leaves have fallen though
I think we’ll make a start on the Christmas cake soon too llfl, I just need to get all the ingredients together
Sounds like you’ve had a busy but enjoyable few days grannmarie , I think it’s been a holiday weekend here too, I only know because the local post office was shut today 🤷‍♀️

Evening Kitcheners. I'm pooped! Dgs2 is no longer having a nap which makes the day even longer 😭. He was pretty good today apart from the last hour which was challenging. I'm tired on a Monday anyway because I'm up so early. Grannmarie too early to mention Christmas! I've had the last of the unfrozen cottage pie and some Eve's pudding. I'm lying on the couch and will shortly move to do dishes. Then Tesco is delivering and then bed. Jaxjacky I have never made chutney but will attend it later this month. The Christmas cake and puddings will be made in October too, along with spicy braised red cabbage. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

Hi everyone, busy but not silly calls on the voluntary phone today, all sorted bar one.
Christmas hats ALREADY Grannmarie that’s really not on at all, all the littlies will be expecting a visit any time soon!
I’ve done little else today apart from pot my chutney and thrown the vacuum around then waved a duster.
Last quiz at the present location tonight, Mondays won’t be the same, I’m hopeful at some point it’ll resume, meanwhile there are others locally.
I’ll be thinking of you both tomorrow Yia x

Hello kitchen people. I think I’ve missed some birthdays too! So happy birthday 🥳

Our cleaner came this morning so all is sparkling. I tried to get my specs fixed - I sat on them at the weekend. No luck as they were quite squashed. I bought the same frames and had the existing lenses fitted.

The Christmas cake is in the oven right now. It is six inch square. The house smells delicious.

OH is currently on his weekly phone call to an old friend. They have worked overseas together, including Beirut, so have a lot to talk about. In fact the last time we met up we had a lovely Lebanese meal at a wonderful restaurant in a tiny village in the middle of the Cotswolds.

I think I must have been 70 at some time in the past, I just can’t remember.
Joking aside I know some have mountains to climb, I climbed mine and may be starting another, and I know just how hard it is so my very best thoughts are with you all
