Lovely to see you. 🥰
A lovely new kitchen, thank you soop. I'll install myself in one of the corners as usual, it's mighty cosy now!! Amazing how there's always room in this friendly place.
Happy holidays for you & your husband Urmstongran*.x
SueDonim, it will be good to have your DS visiting, & how nice to have a wedding to look forward to with your DD.
I now must go to find the last of the posts I've missed in the old kitchen.
Warm thoughts for you all, especially those with added worries & troubles.
Happy to sit quietly in the corner with you lovely lot.
👋 Doodle. Thinking of you this evening and sending you a warm hug. x
Hello all. Just going to sit quietly in the corner and listen to the chatting.
Grannmarie what wonderful news do your DGS. You must be so pleased,
Soop hope Mr Soop is safely home now.
Suedonim good news of your son and lovely news of your DD too.
Annsixty hope things lift your spirits soon.
Hello kitcheners! It’s good to be here. We’ve had 2 lovely walks today. Not too hot but just warm enough . The best of British summer weather in my opinion😊
Just sitting watching the olympics on TV . It’s just beginning to get duskish.
Have a good evening all.
Lovely welcoming new kitchen where everyone will feel comfortable. Lots of delicious goodies on the table already but I would like to add some Scottish raspberries and some home made meringues. Enjoy your well deserved holiday Urms . Hope Mr Soop is home soon with good news.
Ooh I’ve just found you all, happy new kitchen ! I’ll be back again soon as we’ve DGD here for a sleepover and just going to try getting her to bed 🤞
I've brought strawberries and ice cream to scoff while I sit in the coolth of the new kitchen.
Spent the afternoon setting up a new WiFi hub as the old one was worn out due to age.
DS has just tried to run a bath and found a problem with the boiler....that may need to be replaced due to age.
There's always a third thing and DH says it isn't him 🤣
Happy New Kitchen!!!🥰🥳💐🍷 🎈
I've been knitting in the garden, then batch cooking in the kitchen, didn't realise that a comfy, cosy, welcoming new Kitchen was all ready. Thank you, dear Soop and all contributors, you are very welcome to help yourselves to a bowl of savoury mince with crusty bread on the side. Hope MrSoop is safe home now.
Lovely to see 'lurkers ' and visitors in the Kitchen, you are most welcome. 👋 👋
Safe journey tomorrow and happy holidays, Urms, I hope you and Himself enjoy every minute. 🇪🇸
Great to hear from you, SueD, enjoy your visit with your DS, and many congratulations to your DD and her intended, lots to look forward to! Glad to hear that your house is coming together again, you've been very patient.
Thank you all for your very kind comments about DGS1, much appreciated. We are indeed very proud grandparents this evening. Can't wait to see him soon and give him a great big hug!
We have a pleasant sunny evening here, somewhat breezy but the forecast thunder and downpour did not materialise, I'm thankful for small mercies.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Tuesday evening and a good night's sleep.
TOYA, NNGB.
Thank you for such a lovely new kitchen soop. I hope that mr Soop has returned to you after his scenic detour around Scotland.
I’m another one who reads regularly but doesn’t contribute much.
My dog minding duties ended this morning as my Dd1 and family returned from their holidays last night. I miss the dog and the cuddles already.
I visited my friend with dementia this afternoon, she wasn’t making much sense bless her. Her husband (aged 80) was laid out on the sofa with dreadful back pain, one of their daughters and her husband were there trying to work out how to care for them both. Not easy as they themselves are full time carers for their severely autistic son. I’ll help if I can, given my limitations.
urms;I hope you have a wonderful holiday in your happy place.
Night night everyone.
Happy news from your daughter sued. Good to know your home is truly yours again.
Keep your head down charley. Just in case.
Happy holiday urms. Like your packing style. Mr C always (not so) graciously shares his bag with me.
.
Feet up time here now. Have a good evening everyone.
suedonim that's lovely news about your DD. Many congratulations
Everything went smoothly today, people turned up on time, my car was serviced and thankfully I will not have to job hunt to pay for it. Even Morrison's online delivery asked if he could deliver almost an hour early so everything was sorted and paid by 2 pm.
The rioters have announced they are visiting our town tomorrow at 8 pm. I told a GN friend I could rob from her house, trains permitting around 12 midday.
It was showery today but still warm. Look after yourselves.
Thank you for the new kitchen Soop. I'm another who seldom contributes but who always looks to see what the kitchen news is. Such a warm and kind place.
I am so happy to see this new Kitchen and hope to join in more once again. I haven’t caught up with the old thread, I didn’t want to read it.
On my part, my ds is doing well, though will always be on treatment from now on. He’s coming to stay with us on Thursday, the first time in two years and the first time he’s seen our new house. We can’t wait!
This week, we are almost at the end of the reparation of the flood works. The last eight or nine weeks has been difficult with workmen and the upheaval but we put our heads down and somehow got through it. Yesterday our goods and chattels were returned to us so we have chairs to sit on again and a table to eat at. Many possessions are still boxed up the garage but we’ll get them sorted out bit by bit.
We’ve also had wardrobes put into a guest room and that’s enabled me to rationalise so much stuff, I’ve somewhere to store towels and bedlinen now and tidy away out of season shoes and the GC’s toys.
The kittens are almost fully grown now and they continue to amuse us. They coped so well with living in a bedroom for a month!
My youngest dd is getting married! Her partner proposed to her last week and she accepted. The wedding won’t be for a while but it’s happy news for us all. They are settled in their own home now and have the cutest kitten to keep them company.
I look forward to getting up to speed soon on everyone’s news. TOYA. Xx
‘Evening All’.
Ooh, a new kitchen! Lovely. Just what we all need soop.
Thank you.
Hearty congratulations to your clever grandson Grandmarie. I can imagine how delighted you all are right now!
We’ve had a day of small chores. #lazygran.
I’ve just put clean sheets on the bed. Sorted my cross body bag for the airport tomorrow morning. Passports, sunglasses. Shoved some stuff into the grip bag Himself just puts under the seat in front (shh, don’t tell him, it’s not much I’ve just hidden it under his bits and bobs!).
Off now to our friendly neighbours for drinks. They’re back from holiday and call this catch up session ‘the 6 o’clock club’ which makes me smile. They have drinks every evening and we are invited to just pop in whenever it suits. Nice.
“Chin chin!”. 🍷
Another lurker popping in to enjoy the peace and calm of this lovely kitchen.
Our youngest daughter has just returned from working in Canada for the last 6 years. She starts a new job in London in Sept. We are so pleased she is back in the country,we have missed her so much.
Have put a fruit loaf on the side for everyone,it’s lovely toasted so enjoy.
The sun has just come out here in Shropshire to give a lovely end to the day.
Thank for a very welcoming new kitchen soop. It’s a good place to be.
Hi everyone.
Congrats to your grandson Granmarie a very proud Gran I’m sure.
I hope Mr Soop will be back home with you very soon. He could do without delays on his way home.
I can understand how losing a shop you use regularly can make you feel out of sorts Annsixty we were due to lose the last bank in our village next week but it’s had a reprieve until November. I went in today to withdraw cash. The lady that stands around in there asked me what I was doing in a rather stern tone. It gets my back up when they ask you this.
I’ve met DIL and GC for a coffee, had a blow dry and read my book. DH is having a snooze outside me I’m waiting for him to wake up as I’m starving !
Lovely new kitchen. I’ve bought tapasy bits for an easy tea so I will leave then on the table. Bon appetite 😀
I have dropped off the boys and I'm relaxing after a hard shift. Dgs1 was particularly argumentative and downright cheeky today. We have reconciled but he was hard work. As was his little brother but at least he slept for well over two hours. Soop thank you for opening the kitchen. I have managed to pickle two jars of beetroot, in between fighting with the boys. Annsixty I'm sorry that you are feeling down. I hope it passes soon. Grannmarie well done to your dgs! It's lovely to hear about young people working hard and achieving.
Spaghetti bolognaise later, after I have tidied up. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners
May I sneak in too, please? I read daily and sometimes contribute.
Is it ok if I join too - I read daily, but have only contributed once.
I’ll rustle up some goodies later, but meanwhile there’s tea in the pot and a pile of Tunnocks Caramel Wafers to be getting on with. (I know - never end a sentence with a preposition, but it’s not Pedants Corner!).
👋 Soop. This lurker will make use of your quiet corner, please.
Welcome! Thank you all for making our Kitchen a super-special gathering place.
Enjoy!
and hugs galore.
