Acknowledging limitations!

For over 50 years I lived in Kent and drove up to Lincolnshire to see family and friends, now the situation is in reverse but I only drive down to Kent twice a year at the most. This week I have done the journey and decided this is the last time! The traffic on the M35 and M11 was simply horrendous and twice I very nearly became involved in an accident where I surely would have lost my life, both involving foreign left had drive vehicles!!! It was the most terrifying experience of my life, I was truly petrified and although I never dream, I have had nightmares for the last two nights, reliving the experience! It does make me very sad after all these years, to think I will never do that journey again, and in neither of the instances was I to blame in anyway, but I just do not feel confident or safe anymore in such crazy traffic conditions, where the standard of motorway driving is simply appalling other drivers have absolutely no regard for the safety of others and make such stupid errors of judgement! I wonder what else I will have to give up to cope in this ever changing world as the years advance?
