Good morning, I'm 63, but in my mind I feel about 43! I play ps4/5 games, I listen to 80s music mostly rock and glam rock, I still listen to sex pistols as I used to be a punk (in the old days!!) I love to go to car shows to see the escorts and fiestas and novas all with there body kits on.
I really don't think there much fun stuff any more.

I feel about 25 and have since l was 25. I embrace new things though, and whilst I remember some past things fondly, I'm not stuck in it.

Well, I'm a decade older than you. I listen to all sorts of music- not just from my youth.
Does that affect how old I feel? I'm not sure that it does, for me.

I am 63 and have just discovered a very talented artist called REN.
Not my usual music taste, but he is a very good wordsmith and story teller.
I walk a lot and always have done...still lots of places to discover on our coastal path walks in England, and the UK in general.

I am 66 and a half! I have always been fit and active but lately I must say my energy levels have diminished . I get more tired in the evenings and once I sit down after our evening meal I find it hard to move! I am happy to go to bed at 10 pm! However I get up at six o'clock and try and walk six miles each day. I am grateful for good health but am beginning to feel older

Physically, I feel a lot older than my 65 years, but mentally younger. I, too, listen to rock and punk music, but also some of the lesser-known bands such as The Black Keys, The Pigeon Detectives, and The Teskey Brothers.

Hi. I find it hard to believe I’m 67. The last decade has flown by ! I try to keep fit, looking after DGC and walking three times a week, listening to music through my new hearing aids their brilliant.
I find I’m more tired in the evenings now, I’m definitely a morning person.

You are mere youngsters!
I too am a decade older and finding it hard to "see myself as others see me,"
Sweet little old lady I am NOT but the mirror does not reflect the trendy if middle aged person in my head.

emmasnan Sat 24-Aug-24 17:23:37

I'm 68 I feel much younger in my head, just a pity I have to look in the mirror sometimes!
I feel lucky to still be able to move around well and do most things I enjoy, even if I am bit slower than before.

It’s just been reported on the news that a 102 year old woman is going to do her first skydive.
She would see us all as young whipper snappers.

The sky dive takes place today in Suffolk. Brave woman I wish her well.

I do not feel any age at all, and never have. I am who I am and that part of me is essentially unchanging

kittylester Sun 25-Aug-24 20:29:17

I am a similar age to Maw and I love Ren, too.

Deedaa Sun 25-Aug-24 20:41:32

I'm 78 and am gradually getting less mobile, but mentally I still feel decades younger. Since I got back into painting I have pretty much reverted to the mind set I had as a student in the 60s.

Sickofweddingcake Sun 25-Aug-24 22:26:28

Kittylester, after discovering Ren, his talent as a wordsmith is phenomenal ... his music has opened up a genre that I did not think I would ever listen to.
However , listening to, and feeling the emotions of, his talents has enabled me to engage with all different age groups worldwide: this, in itself has given me a fresh outlook on life and helps me to understand how different generations think... from young through to old.

I am also a decade older than the OP and until last week felt I was aging pretty well.
Then I collapsed on the tennis court and had to go toA&E in an ambulance.
After being sick over the paramedic as they were loading me in to the ambulance (not one of my finest moments) I had a very uncomfortable ride to the hospital where, after lots of tests, I was pronounced extremely healthy.
I feel much older this week 😂

I am just like you but 81 years old. My playlist is all rock n roll from the mid 1950's to the mid 1960's, Elvis, Beatles, Searchers, Dion and the Belmonts. I bop around in my back garden with my sweeping brush wearing my ear phones. I also go to classic car shows with our sons, my favourite car of the 60's was the Vauxhall Cresta. I was a Mecca Locarno girl and spent most of my time between college and dancing. I won a cup at Butlin's Skegness in a jive contest. I feel 20 in my head and thank god I do not have any major health issues and no aches and pains. If my husband was still alive my life would be perfect but he isn't so I live my life to the best of my ability. Long may it last.

I feel the same as I always have, apart from what some of you have mentioned, tired in the evenings, I usually fall asleep at some point, and dare not have a bath because I invariably wake up disoriented, in cold water.
I still work, my grandchildren keep me young, I learn all sorts of things from the older ones, and play with the younger ones.
I still like clothes, and try to look decent, haven’t really changed my style, but won’t buy anything now which displays upper arms.
I know things can change at any time, but for the moment, I feel about thirty five.

My sense of myself has nothing to do with how I look, dress, or the music I listen to.

Come to that, having a sense of self that has no age and is no age, my likes, dislikes etc are governed by personal taste and regardless of whether what I do is 'young', 'old' or anything else.

My taste in music is almost entirely classical and always has been. At the height of the 60s, when I enjoyed listening to Radio Luxemburg, all my record buying was classical music and I never went to a pop concert, but did buy a season ticket for the Proms at the Albert Hall.

Having discovered very young, that people saw me as 'odd' gave me this freedom to be myself - and as I said, I have no sense of age atall.
