Something in the village that makes laugh every time I walk past. The carpet shop proclaims a new line called “Harvey Maria”. 😂😂😂

Good morning from saturated South Lanarkshire.

Hope you have a better day today Mick.

Yesterday I did tackle one of the admin jobs on my list and feel lighter for having done it.

Best wishes to your DD Kitty.

I think today we may take a run down to the coast, we’re going a bit stir crazy here.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 28-Aug-24 07:36:02

Kittylester what a worry, I hope your DD is ok 🌻

GrannyGravy13 Wed 28-Aug-24 07:34:50

Morning all from a bright S E Essex, currently 17° meant to reach 27°.

I am off to a child friendly working farm with DDiL4 GD(7) and GS(4). I haven’t been before, really looking forward to it.

The Imp was rather wilful yesterday, but I did have 30 minute cuddle 🥰

Thinking of our Kalu and falling 💐

Enjoy your day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Sorry you felt unwell yesterday Mick hope today is better.
No plans today just a bit of housework.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from Malta where another very hot day is forecast.

Sorry to hear you didn’t feel well yesterday Mick, hope today will be better for you.

I sat up watching tennis from the US Open until 3.30am so I am not very pleased to have woken up already! I will need a nap before going to look after the boys. They are at nursery this morning so I am not needed until 1.30 today.

Tomorrow, Friday and Saturday will be early starts as their daddy has to be at work.

Greyduster, I’ve asked myself the same question as I too have a cupboard full of mugs yet always stick to the same few favourites!

Kalu is in my thoughts a lot as she faces life without her beloved husband. May he rest in peace.🥀

Kitty hope your daughter will feel better soon. You must be so worried about her when she was abroad, thank goodness she’s now in the best place to help her.

Sar53💐

Best wishes for a good day for everyone.☀️

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we had overnight rain but it’s dry and sunny now
Pleased to hear your DD1 got home safely kitty, but sorry to hear she’s in hospital, I hope she’s home again soon
We had a good easy journey home yesterday, everything was on time with no big queues anywhere. It was a lovely relaxing week away and the time passed really quickly but it was just what DH and I needed. Today I’ll be tackling the holiday washing and probably not much else!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmadinosaur Wed 28-Aug-24 07:29:06

Good morning all from a warm sunny East Yorkshire.

I’m up early to catch a train down to London to see a show. DH said he’d come down on the train with me and I envisaged a few hours either side to have an amble around. Yesterday he informed me he’s meeting up with old business acquaintances. So now I’m left to wander alone 😬 oh well I’m sure I’ll find somewhere to pass the time.

Good luck with treatments today Mizuna I too am having some of those procedures.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 16° and dry at the moment. Yesterday started off with heavy rain but cleared to leave a lovely late afternoon and evening. Mick I hope you feel better today. Kitty your poor daughter. I wish her a speedy recovery.
Yesterday dgs2 and I had a good day. Lots of playing with cars and trains. He's moving onto dinosaurs now as well. He is getting very chatty too and sometimes it's bedlam with both boys talking to me at the same time! In the evening I had a long chat with a neighbour I don't know very well.
Today I have an early haircut. There's so little left but it needs trimmed..I might make more raspberry jam if I can be bothered . I've given away most of the last batch. Otherwise I will potter about the house and garden. Have a good day all.

Sar53 Wed 28-Aug-24 07:23:50

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex coast.

DH will drop me off in town later as I have lots of bits and bobs to get.

Today would have been my dad's 99th birthday, sadly he died at 74.

Have a great day everyone xx

kittylester Wed 28-Aug-24 07:04:08

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

DH his off to the gym and our cleaner is coming at 9. After lunch we are going over the forest to see DD3 and family. Persie is starting senior school tomorrow and is very excited.

Yesterday was a bit fraught. As I mentioned, DD1 (who is having cancer treatment) was unwell and on her way home from holiday in Portugal. She is now in her local hospital.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Redcar Wed 28-Aug-24 06:59:43

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Hazy sunshine this morning but it will probably be warm again. I went for my usual walk yesterday morning and met up with lots of dog walking friends.
Saw my friend with dementia yesterday afternoon, sadly she is deteriorating and very sleepy most of the time.
No plans for today, but must water the plants in pots and some plants in the garden which are wilting. We had a lot of rain on Saturday but the ground drains very quickly here. I’ll sit outside if it’s not too hot.
Have a good day everyone.

hollysteers Wed 28-Aug-24 06:51:52

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Very enjoyable music club yesterday and it was graced by our talented violinist who is not a regular attender.

I’m off soon for a pre op twenty miles away for my hernia. I still have an abscessed tooth to be removed at the same hospital, which may complicate it.

Sorry you had a bad day Mick and thoughts to Kalu🙏🏻

RosesandLilac Wed 28-Aug-24 06:43:55

Good morning, it’s dry and cloudy here in south Glos, another quiet day ahead.
Yesterday I went into town, it was early so few people around and I was home before 10.
On my dog walk late afternoon dozens of swallows were gathering for their migration I imagine, a wonderful sight but a sign that the summer is drawing to a close. I love the mellow days of autumn, when the sun has lost its fierceness and the there’s a softness in the air.
The dog and I enjoy our meanders, she trots around investigating everything and is always happy.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 28-Aug-24 06:41:44

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

We saw the new Alien film yesterday. Not bad so we gave it 6/10. The special effects were brilliant but I think this may have been one film too many in the franchise.

OH and I are meeting old friends today for lunch. They have chosen a Lebanese restaurant in a small village somewhere near Chipping Norton. I love Lebanese food and one of my favourite places is Comptoir Libanais (sp).

Have a good day everyone especially those of you with difficulties. Shouldn’t Urms be back by now? I hope all is well with her and Mr Urms.

Mizuna Wed 28-Aug-24 06:34:59

Good morning from a drizzly Cornwall, good for my plants. Went to Porthleven yesterday where lots of children were paddling and fishing for crabs in the harbour. It had the feel and look of yesteryear. A retriever stood up to its belly in seaweedy water among the moored fishing boats and resolutely refused to go ashore until its owner rolled up his trousers, waded in and dragged it out, so funny to watch.

Today I'm off to a specialist unit to have possible pre-pre-skin cancer bits and bobs possibly burnt off - my doctor being extra diligent in her referral - then a coffee in that town's Wetherspoons.

Kalu 🌹

Good morning all from a DRY Belfast.
Supposedly having a quiet day. DH is going out after lunch
So I will maybe get a chance to read my book.
Have a good day everyone.

Greyduster Wed 28-Aug-24 06:23:19

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. Lots of high cloud this morning but, blessedly, the wind has stopped blowing and it is calm. Sorry to hear you were not feeling your best yesterday, Mick. I wish you a better day today. Not much planned today except to go through the stock of surplus to requirements mugs and cups cluttering up my kitchen cupboards that never get used even for visitors (how do we acquire so many?) and writer’s group at the library this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

cornergran Wed 28-Aug-24 06:08:33

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark, dry corner of Somerset.

Hope you feel better today Mick. The friendship group sounds such a good idea grandmattie. I’m sure it will flourish.

A difficult night again, I’m so tired but sleep is elusive. Need to do better tonight as we’ve a day with our not so Littlest on Thursday which I’m really looking forward to. Will need to keep up!

Plan to get out this morning before a relaxing afternoon with a book. Our days seem much quieter than most described here.

Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

karmalady Wed 28-Aug-24 06:03:40

Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be lovely today

My plan today is to combine some patterns, called pattern hacking, also to sit outside in my recliner with a book, probably after a walk or cycle ride

Have a good day

grandMattie Wed 28-Aug-24 05:59:47

Good morning from a dry Bristol. It’s still dark here too, and we had a shower during the evening.
Although I enjoy my outdoor tai chi classes, I get really annoyed as the teacher never gives us the fill 30 minutes. Since I have a long walk each way, I feel I should get more class than walks and I don’t.
The afternoon “Singles Friendship” group I had organised was well attended, with 15 of us meeting in the church. I hope this will carry on and be worthwhile.
Today, I have a meeting for understanding dementia in preparation for a group the vicar has volunteered me into. It will be long and probably irritating with lots of “how did it make you feel” type questions in the post-mortem…
Hope you have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
