Software for storing recipes

Does anyone keep their recipes online on a simple program that enables them to enter recipes categorise them and also search by ingredient.

I have been online and everything seems to be an app. As I have discussed on other threads I have practical problem with using a mobile phone and want to do this on my laptop.

So many of those I have looked at seem to be incredibly complicated with all sorts of options I really do not want or need. As I said, all I want to do is turn my card index of recipes into a computer file.

MOnica, I am going to watch the responses to your post. Surely there is a way!
Thanks for exploring this!

I use Microsoft OneNote.
I created a notebook specifically for recipes and use a new page for each recipe.
Pages can be ordered in any way that you wish and you can create separate sections for, eg: soups, desserts, cakes etc.
There is a search function which allows you to search by word so entering, say, Mushrooms will result in a list of all your recipes which include mushrooms.
You can also sync your notebook across all your devices.
Hope this helps.

Scribbles I will look at that, because that is exactly what I want to do, that and no more. I am not bothered about syncing it.

Years ago I had a lovely little software package called 'Cardbox', which did exactly what it said on the tin. It worked like a card index and you could search for individual words, but simple software seems to have gone out of fashion thse days, everything seems to complicate itself by proving how versatile it is by having 100s of different ways of doing things 95 of which, no one ever uses.

Oh, yes, M0nica! I remember Cardbox very well; it was the first computer database I ever used, around 40 years ago on an early IBM PC and I still miss its simplicity and versatility.
